Worst Judge of its kind! At the hearing i broke down crying explaining my condition and she didn't show one bit of compassion. A month later she denied me even with a good Lawyer and a well prepared medical record from my doctor. She has send me to a state psychologist who along with my doctor agreed on my condition and still denied me. I hope she can sleep at night.

Nervious, after almost 3 years to get see him, and two months ago. a law firm starts with "P" miss leaded me to believe I had terminated their empolyement for poor communication skills, and laziness. I rescheared and found a local go gether that knows how to hunt for the paper work. Anyway I feel better going it alone,at this point. Cant even afford anymore time. Really Lost how people can get medical documation, Nobody within 3 counties wont take Medicad share of cost... My duedilgence, he is one of the highest 10% paid Adminstrative Judges, which means he's good and knows his "A" game. I have lost my life twice, Daughter, wife( after 24yrs.) It takes so long to get here, if favorably then another 3months or more before the calvary comes. Guess thats cause people trying to get for broken toes....still cant believe that. the way i look at his stats its a 50/50 chance, top ten in Admin. Judges i wouldve to give him a 10 even if i am diened .... Paper work i found out is 80% your case and 20% is testimony.

I had my hearing with the "judge" back in 2013. Of course, it did not go in my favor. Yes, look at her ratings. Even when she was a judge in Missouri, her ratings were almost exact as they are here in Fort Lauderdale. I was very shocked when I received the first denial letter, after the hearing. She MOST CERTAINLY makes her own rules. So many different times where she had manipulated what I had testified, to suit her decision. She is very dishonest when she writes out her decision letter. I think the only thing that was true on the letter was my name and age. The rest....fabricated. What's crazy is, this is OUR money that we paid into over our working years, obviously, otherwise we wouldn't have a sum that we should be collecting. I also agree with the ones who say she is prejudice. I believe it!! As soon as she seen me walk in, she had made her decision, before I even spoke one word. It seemed odd to me also that she kept asking me questions, concerning my partner. Did she have me on her insurance, was she the one that took care of me, did she buy my clothes, did she pay for my medicine?, etc. None of that was mentioned in the letter. I do feel for the ones who have upcoming hearings with this woman. She is not a fair judge....period. Why no one at the SS administration has stopped and asked the question of why her stats are ALWAYS the same every year, is beyond me. My total outcome after all of this??? Right back to where I was 4 years ago......

This woman has to be on the craziest power trip ever. She makes things up, twists reality, and apparently knows more than the doctors do. IF you get her, pray for a miracle. I know there's a lot of fraud going on, but she denies people who are legitimately disabled in order to combat the high SSA rates. I'm suspicious of a racism element as well, but I won't confirm it because it's not like she flat out called me a honky. If you do get her, DO NOT GIVE HER AN INCH. She'll take your inch and turn it into a mile. I told her the medicine will sometimes work, about 10% of the time. She turned that into "the medicine works almost all of the time". Variety of different things were manipulated to suit her decision. She had already denied me the minute I spoke, the rest of the trial was just a formality and a way to twist the truth into her fraudulent, deceptive decision.

I had this judge on 05/15/2015 was denied but i can't fault her she was on doing her job by going by the rules and after reading her decision why I was denied I would have to agree because lawyers don't summit all your medical documents, medical history also your doctor's don't properly document your findings and history properly. So don't blame the judge blame the ones we have represented us and ourselves for not making sure everything is in files before meeting with judges. I went before this judge and was denied but I would give her a 5 star rating because she was polite, listen and took every piece of evidence that was given to her in to consideration, because they most important part of my disability was not present like my fibromyalgia and hypothyroidism. Thank you. ALJ for doing your job well. May the Lord continue blessing you in all areas of your life God Bless.

Judge: Theresa R. Jenkins
3/27/2015 8:50:05 AM

This judge is totally unprofessional and sets her own rules. fails to consider "your" medical doctors testimony but gives all wait to SSA examiners. She claimed I claimed several impairments but no medical records to back those claims thus my testimony was not credible. This judge had MORE than enough medical records to prove disability otherwise. Regarding my mental health, she claimed no history of suicidal attempts or ideations, yet, in the record was 4 recent medical records I went to an er with suicidal ideations, I have cut my wrist, Go to a mental health facility whom conducted an evaluation for SSA and stated I was very much not able to hold a job due to conditions. I have ( prior to hearing ) over the past year, SENT THE SSA ODAR OFFICE suicidal letter letting them know, i would be killing myself ( luckily I did not - wouldnt want them to win) but records are ALL in the exhibits and evidence. A week prior to hearing, was in the hospital, 2 different surgeons stated I needed an important surgery but they refused to do the surgery because my health make me a high risk for major complication and a 50% chance of something going wrong! she FAILED to reference that. Even at the hearing, I asked her, "please review all the files in depth", she promised me she would, said she takes her job seriously and will review all the medical records. BS - Prior to Hearing, SSA ODAR office sent me a cd with the exhibits that would be reviewed during hearing ( evidence ). The CD they sent me, had a complete strangers medical records on it. After the denial letter, I wrote that office in disgust being they had a complete strangers medical records in my evidence file and "if" they would have "thoroughly" reviewed my evidence, they would have seen the mistake..2 days after I told them about this, they sent 4 officers from Homeland Security to my house to retrieve that CD..They tried im sure, to sweep it under the rug, but I have also contacted all major news outlets about this.

SSA Victim
Judge: Theresa R. Jenkins
3/6/2015 12:43:00 PM

Horrible experience with Judge Jenkins: Got my denial letter today and A SLEW of false information. additionally, there were SEVERAL medical records she failed to consider. any information , regarding my medical issues, she ignored. ONE MAJOR issue was this: I was hospitallized and told I needed surgery, yet 2 different hospital surgeons refused to do the surgery because of my poor health and the real possibility of something major going wrong. She didnt even consider this. again, their are A LOT of medical evidence/records she failed to review. Yet, the information provided by the SSA's doctors ( of course in the governments favor), she referenced, my doctors testimony, she gave little or no weight! Additionally, something troubling- her office sent me, a encrypted CD with all of the exhibits/evidence for my review. this is a CD you have to have a passcode to open. last evening, after I received the denial letter and within the denial letter, she referenced exhibits, I went to my CD, opened the documents to compare testimony and discovered around 24 pages of a medical file for some complete stranger..Not giving out the name, but it was a female who gave birth to a baby premature with a great deal of health issues. We have similar last names but a complete stranger. I have her medical history, account number, etc..I will be contacting my local news outlet about this. Im sure they will want to do a story regarding patients medical privacy. Im going to do my best and try and track down the patient in my file and let her know about this. Clearly A HIPPA violation. As well, it goes to show that the ALJ, judge Jenkins, certainly did not review my entire medical history, for if she had, she would have assuredly seen this inexcusable mishap .

Another one here where she totally lied on my decision. She stated I was a social butterfly, yeah, those words killed me, and said I had numerous friends to visit, etc.. Well truth is, I've been socially isolating for the past 3 years and have had a total of 1 friend visit. Something I testified too. She also said I could grocery shop by myself, etc, which I haven't done in quite some time and also testified too. I told her that in the beginning I wasn't compliant with my diabetes because I was in denial, well she wrote that I wasn't compliant NOW, which is NOT what I said in my hearing, I told her that I have been VERY compliant now because I was in the beginning of kidney issues. Oh and per her decision I have no cognitive issues, yet I also testified that I couldn't remember any of my medical classes anymore, had to have reminders to take my blood sugar and my medications and hubby took over all bills because I kept forgetting to pay them. She also used the "grid" to determine that I wasn't disabled, which she WASN'T supposed to use for her overall determination, yet that was her greatest weight for denial, and she used a grid for someone below age 50, I am now 53! So her "grid" thinking is totally skewed. I have no idea why this woman is in any position to control peoples lives!! Oh and she totally discounted what both my doctors wrote, that there is NO WAY I can hold a job for 8 hours a day, or even 4 hours a day, she just dismissed what the people who see me 3-6 times a year said and took only the SSA doctors, who I've never seen into account. She's a farce, and shouldn't be allowed to make decisions that affect others lives. I hope she's fired before my appeal comes through.

Judge: M. D Evans

I went before Judge Evans today in Melbourne and therefore will not have a decision anytime soon according to my atty, 3-6 months. However I just wanted to say he seemed very nice and cared about my disability. I think the problem with denials is the use of DOT job descriptions. The vocation expert goes by a book that tells job descriptions according to title. What the VE was reading was no where near my job description but...... The judges have to rule by the book, just sayin!

Judge: Valencia Jarvis
2/12/2015 4:40:24 PM

I had the same experience as the last person who wrote in about Valencia Jarvis. She made up facts to support her decision to deny me benefits, and ignored she facts that were in evidence contradicting her ruling. I can't say she's mean spirited. She might simply be incompetent. Regardless, it's clear that a judge (Valencia Jarvis) who is consistently at the lowest end of granting approvals is using criteria that is inconsistent with standards set by social security. It's beyond me how Valencia Jarvis still has been able to hold onto her job. Perhaps social security hold performance reviews? i don't know. It's sad and shameful that Valencia Jarvis is still allowed to be in a position of responsibility for which she is clearly ill-suited and its allowed to cause pain to people who deserve better. I deserve better. We all deserve better.

Judge: Michael J Kopicki
8/13/2014 3:41:30 PM

A fairly good judge. I have appeared in front of Judge Kopicki a number of times and I find him to be intelligent, sincere, and thorough, even in cases he turned down. If a case he turned down is remanded to him he has been fair about reconsidering his prior decision. He is neither liberal nor conservative in his decisions. On occasion he has prejudged a case and digs in his heels during the hearing, but usually he is open-minded. I have not seen him to be cyncial.

Judge: Valencia Jarvis
8/7/2014 12:05:27 PM

I had Valencia Jarvis as my S.S. judge and she lied about my medically documented impairments in both physical and also psychological aspects and stated the exact opposite in her findings. To show how truly unfair of a judge this piece of work is, the states own vocational expert stated that I could not do any form of work at all even at sedentary levels and she stated the opposite of this as well in her decision. Unfortunately this is how she is allowed to continue to deny countless others through lies and falsifying documented evidence. Even though I had a rather lengthy rebuttal letter written up on my behalf to the appeals council trying to bring her upon charges for what she did to me showing documented proof that Valencia Jarvis lied to deny, which the appeals council agreed with 100%, they didn't feel this proof warranted my wrongful deny decision to be overturned but rather remanded back to the ALJ stage. Wasted 6 years + of my life and I am still at step one thanks to Valencia Jarvis who I notice does this to an extremely large number of those she oversees case wise. How can people like this stay in power with NO repercussions what so ever??? They need to have star categories going in the negative scale because she deserves a negative ten rating!

I just want to say that I went before Judge Waitsman on July 24, 2014. He was kind and I felt like he really listened to what I said. He put me at ease in a very stressful situation. In this 2 year process he restored my faith that somebody would actually take the time to look at the facts and listen to what I had to say. I don't know the decision yet, but I do know that I had a fair Judge.

Can you explain, without using the word: CORRUPTION, or mentioning crooks, ie Debra Bice, Carolyn Colvin, Sherry Thompson, David Thompson et al., why a 100% Service-Connected DISABLED veteran, who hasn't been gainfully employed since honorable discharge 1987 would be denied ssdi benefits ? Do you think the SSA has more criminals employed than does the VA ? Have you blown the whistle on any of the crooks you see at the SSA ?

I have appeared many times before ALJ Millington and she has the most pleasant personality and temperament of all the Denver ODAR judges. Of course, everyone has a bad day, I guess, but a "nasty temper" is something I have never seen. She is also one of the few judges I have appealed, obtained a remand from the US District Court back to her, and, after a rehearing, she agreed with me and reversed herself, granting benefits. I am always relieved to get her on an SSDI or SSI claim. I know she is going to treat my client like a human being and she will listen carefully. I think she reads the file well before the hearing.

6/3/2014 7:41:22 AM

To the person that wrote the most recent post on 5/13/2014. Sounds exactly like my outcome. She completely ignored the medical data. Only gave "great weight" to the report from the Disability doctor that reviewed my records, never saw me in person and was an prior felon with 90+ felony drug charges against him and is currently under a probationary license in FL. I too wondered if I don't look sick enough or if it is because I am a white middle-aged man that has put in 30 years in the work force and payed taxes, maybe she saves her 16% approvals for her Black friends. She is immoral and disgusting. If you choose to appeal, make sure to put those facts in the appeal and also state that you refuse to be heard by her again. That is what my attorney has done, still waiting the appeal. If they insist that you go before her again, find a friend in Dade County and put in a change of address, then your case can be moved to another judge in the Miami system instead of having to go before her a second time in Broward. Good Luck!

This woman, Jarvis, takes all the information provided in the hearing and twists EVERYTHING to suit her decision. She leaves out information, as well as evidence and states that the "claimant" says this or that, when it is UNTRUE!!! Isn't she suppose to uphold to a certain oath of truth as well??? Many things in my "decision" letter were just fabricated lies...plain and simple. Even though there are so many doctor reports and questionnaires filled out by credible doctors, she says that she gives "no weight or little weight" to what they say. That is, unless your a doctor for Social Security, then by all means...she will state that she gives THEM all the weight in the world! She loves to play God and decide someones fate, who really needs to have the decision go in their favor. Shame on her for thinking she could just wily nilly say, "I don't like this person, I find your decision UNFAVORABLE". Maybe I was dressed too nice (out of respect for a hearing), maybe I didn't look sick, maybe I was well spoken?? Maybe because I'm ***, go ahead and deny me my benefits?? I am just so amazed, that looking at her "Approval rating", this woman is still allowed to "Judge" people and decide their fate. I have ZERO respect for her or anyone like this person, who decides what is accepted and what is not.

This is one of the Doctors (If you can call him that) that Florida uses to determine the Health and Well being of it's Disability claimants. Judge Jarvis said she gave his report the "most weight" yet he had not reviewed the majority of my medical records since the tests and Specialists reports came after his review of my records. He has surrendered his medical license in two others states due to this same type of activity. Currently under Probationary License in Florida. Had 90 charges against him in Florida. Has been admitted twice (that I can find) to drug rehab for abusing Hydrocodone, Yet he is still used in Florida and paid by our Government to review Disability cases. Lets Put A Stop to this!

This judge denied my mother and denied her for the wrong diagnosis. She stated my mother has well controlled diabetes and Hep C, neither of these are true. After waiting two months and using every resource that I had to continue to take care of my mother to be told this is SICK. I take care of her, I see how ill she is, how many times she falls and blacks out from sugars, how she goes with out insurance and I pay for her medications. How we have been evicted and are behind and sinking even more daily and have no chance of any help. It just SICK. She said my mom didn't keep her appointments. Well your honor, there is one car, my mother has problems driving due to her sugars changing consitently and feels unsafe. I work full time in the medical Field If I lose my job how can I keep us going even if its not that well. It is Christmas and we have nothing losing our place to live my car is behind my mother is short on her medications and you Deny her!. I plan to make sure that this goes as far as I need to take it. This is poor judgement on your part as a judge. Stating that you were not in agreance with the Doctor that stated clearly she is disabled, I would like to say They are a physician you, your honor are a judge! I work in the medical field I see poeople get this for as things as simple as sinus issues, My mother is Ill, the least you could have done is got her correct diagnosis but that could be be cause you are a judge and not a doctor. Denied my case with no witnesses and his whole summary said nothing about my medical problems. He stated my angry was not depression related but that I was an alcoholic! I quit drinking 20 years ago in my youth because I was working out and trying to live healthier. Never had a problem with alcohol so this seems like a libel suit. Also the rest of his dribble said nothing about me and he never said a word about my emphysema, left eye blind, no vision right eye, asthma, or anemia. I worked for 30 years and it was not easy but money went into ssd just in case I needed it. We need to get rid of these judges who get paid from this money that was suppose to be for us. How about they give me the money I put in back and we will call it even? Appeals court agreed with me and yesterday it went back to him. He had me see to doctors both paid for by ss and after checking there records, they both see 100 patients a month for ss and have a 99% record of saying people should be denied. At the hearing the judge hired a neor doctor in Texas to testify. I am in Florida. This guy has a 100% denial record. He also has no experience in Psychiatry and optometry yet he testified that I had no depression and could see fine! When my attorney tried to cross examine this guy evans cut him off and refused all his questions! He would not allow my attorney to question him and when he asked to have his testimony thrown out because of Evans denied it. My attorney said he does this to him all the time.

Judge: M. D Evans
10/13/2013 6:11:29 PM

I suffer from uncontrolled epileptic seizures, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, foot drop, severe nerve and muscle damage right leg, nerve damage left leg, and anxiety. Judge Evans denied my disability...I was shocked!..according to his 15 page denial letter, he did not take into consideration the notes from my neurologist, the denial letter stated I have fibromyalgia which I do not have, It was written I have seen doctors in Tampa (um..no... I cannot drive due to seizures)but I live 2 hrs away, and it was shown I was admitted to a facility, when in fact I was not. Judge Evans based his decision upon all of my ER visits due to having grand mal seizures. All the ER doctors were baffled because they are not specialized in seizure disorders and do not realize that 2% of patients on medications still suffer seizures. I have appealed and the appeal was granted. Waiting on another hearing. My conditions have gotten worse. My life has been detrimentally affected due to his lack of investigation and proper research on the evidence that was presented by my attorney. Thumbs down to this judge. He was acting as if he was sitting on the right hand of God that day. Shame on him. I have worked all my life and my medical conditions prevent me from even being able to walk to the mailbox, and seizures several times a week. I feel really bad for the people that will have to go in front of him in the future, especially if you are Caucasian. I was in a prayer group before entering the courtroom. Might I suggest you pray that God will give Judge Evans compassion and pray that God will soften his heart...this denial has absolutely devastated my life, in all ways. Thank you for reading this.

These posts really scare me!!! From what I understand, I have to go before this Judge. I went for a hearing already and a decision was made, but because the Judge retired, the decision is void and I have to go for another hearing. I am in desperate need of help and now after reading these comments, it looks as though I may not have much luck in getting the help I need. Signed, homeless!!

Judge: Dean W Determan
9/11/2013 11:32:23 AM

I went before this Judge and he was very understanding. He listened like he really cared. Sadly, from what I understand, he has retired and all his cases have been passed along to other Judges and all his decisions were void and claimants have to for another hearing and start all over again. I waited 2 years for a hearing, and a decision was made after my hearing with Judge Determan and now that decision is no good, so I have to start all over again. I don't think this is in fair in the least bit!!

Major Pain
8/13/2013 10:40:32 AM

Judge Robert Spurlin seemed to be in a great mood today. I went to court very well prepared. Their medical doctor and the Vocational expert already submitted a report that I was truly disabled. went in at 8:27a.m. my appointment was set for 8:30a.m. I was in there for maybe 10 minutes if that long and got my approval. He only asked me about 3 simple questions as he had already had his decision before I got there. so, I can't complain at all. Thank God.

Pray for me

So sad for me I was denied and Im really sick my mind would not let me answer the questions I was all mixed up. Don't those judges see that you have worked all your life and you would get more money if you could work.

Judge: Theresa R. Jenkins
5/23/2013 8:36:32 AM

Judge Jenkins is a warm, compassionate human being. She reads her files thoroughly and expects reps to be prepared. She is respectful and courteous to claimants and puts them at ease. She isn't a soft touch by any means but she applies the law fairly and without favor. Gets 5 stars from me.

Judge: Valencia Jarvis
3/27/2013 3:29:36 PM

"I am going to try and appeal" I see. You filed an applic. and was denied. You've filed a Recon and was denied. Then, you got an Unf. Dec. by an ALJ. Now, you will try to convince the AC that the ALJ was wrong. In fact, you are disabled. A non-disabled would have hired an Atty.

Judge: Valencia Jarvis
3/25/2013 6:33:05 PM

My claim was denied. Apparently attending college means I do not have a disability. Nevermind the fact that the only reason I am still in school is because of the laundry list of accommodations that my schools "office for students with disabilities" gives me. Unfortunately trying to get an education is a mistake. Maybe it is just a mistake for me given all the students I know that receive assistance from the same office and have been approved. I am going to try and appeal, hopefully the next judge I see will not be her. Maybe she should try and deal with my medical issues for just one week and then tell me I don't have a disability.

Very Fair, very thorough in her decision process, I wish to address all of the people leaving negative feedback on this website. If you have all of your documents in order and have followed all of the rules you have nothing to worried about. This is a legal process that goes by the guidelines that are thoroughly spelled out for each individual if you follow them and meet the requirements for being disabled you will be given a favorable decision, If you do not meet the requirements then stop crying and complaining about the Judge was not fair to you, because baby the judge was fair, you where the one that was unprepared. You and you your self are to blame if you do not get a favorable rating. Follow the law and the law will prevail in your favor.

He scares me, but I trust him at the same time. I just Hope he doesn't believe what the medical expert wrote in my interrogratoy! The medicaid doctors at the beginning thought i was crazy, and i became very upset when one of them said I was just looking for drugs, I cursed at her and said no i want to go back to work so i can support my family! With a few F words, so of course the medical expert blew that up out of proportion.

Judge: M. D Evans

Received my long awaited decision, it wasn't fully favorable but that's because Judge Evans was fair to both sides. I believe his judgement was impressive because what I read in his findings was a judge that not only took my professional doctors words but also heard my personal battle with my disorders. He made the right decision, I told the complete truth an when he pushed for a answer I didn't think what was the right or wrong answer I gave him the honest one. If you go in front of him, tell him 100% what it is that's going on with your disability he listen, but remember he's very sharp : ) he wants to here the way it is an you show him respect an he returns that in his court room. God bless his decision, he tuff but fair. THOMAS

Judge Gill is calm, straightforward, self-effacing reception for the claimant's testimony, as well as his courteous and concerned demeanor towards claimant and myself, made all present feel at ease and able to most-effectively lay out the case before him as quickly as possible. The word "mensch" comes very much to mind.

I had a complex Special Needs Trust case before the judge, who quickly identified the main trust law issues, and was able to interpret the trust correctly (in spite of horrible drafting by the attorney who drafted the trust document), The judge had done independent research before starting the hearing, was extremely pleasant and nice to the parents of the severely disabled child, and got right to the issues in the case.

What a blessing this man was to myself and my family. After 5 years of fighting for benefits, Judge Waitsman approved me. He was kind and considerate and could see that my pain is real. We've lost so much since the onset of my illness to have someone in his position see the emotional toll this has taken was very humbling. Thank you Just Waitsman for all that you have done.

10/28/2012 11:00:14 AM

I went to court with this judge on Oct 23, 2012 I had Bypass Surgery in May, 2012 a heart attack in July of 2010...This judge seems to be polite he asked me questions in which i answered I mentioned that i had my bypass surgery which he had over looked my attorney told him which exhibit page it was on in which he seemed satisified also stated that I had gotten worse since the last time I saw him which was last year (remanded back)after I start to read off my meds he stops me and says that he needs to have a M.E. and wanted to reschedule my hearing OR I could have a inaroggatory intern answers somes questions and I may not have to come back for another hearing. He also wants to change my onset date...Dont know if that means I might be approved and also to give him a few weeks he didnt say that my case was closed but, my attorney says to give him 30 days...I hope this will all be over soon...Ive had this judge twice the only issue the last time isthat all my medical records were not in even though he gave TEN days to have them in so I was DENIED at that point. Now Im so hoping that this nightmare is almost over...

Judge: Michelle Thompson
8/23/2012 5:03:21 PM

I dont think she took in to consideration what I have to go through everyday dealing with children that have ADHD and ODD have twins one approved other one keep being denied I wish she could walk in my shoes and see how it feels to get calls from school because your child cant stay in her seat or that the child is being suspended for fighting hope she one day look at the whole picture and not just her question she asked us

Judge: Michelle Thompson
8/23/2012 4:57:14 PM

I don't understand her decision I have twins one approved other denied several times never went to court one other twin but the oldest getting denied they both have the same medical history and they take med everyday which is five to be exact and hopefully when I appeal I will have some type of representation because why do one get approved and the other one keeps getting denied keep in mind they are only three mintues apart bug the oldest twin keep getting denied ever chance I apply

8/14/2012 11:32:03 PM

I just found out this guy is a judge. Completely and totally unqualified to be one, in fact not even qualified to be dog catcher. His main attribute is ONE thing. Connections. That's how he got the job, and that's how he'll keep it. In fact, it scares the heck out of me that he has this kind of power over people's lives. No moral compass, and no values. Good luck Florida. We were VERY glad when he left his state job and moved away. Kentucky just...smells better now.

8/6/2012 10:42:58 AM

The issue being discussed is whether Judge Spurlin does HIS homework. Just because a judge is approving some cases--that happen to be yours--it's both self-serving and idiotic to assume all criticism is invalid. If you have nothing more than childish comments to add, take a walk.

7/19/2012 3:20:19 PM

You guys are too rough on him. He is just a Judge that wants only the truly disabled to collect benefits. Once you get to know him he is not a bad guy and in fact he does pay my clients. Ease up people just do your home work and he will eventually pay your cases.

Judge: Donald G Smith
7/19/2012 6:19:27 AM

I concur. He seems to have a problem accepting VA opinions. Will often send out interrogatories and ask questions like- does claimant's impairment meet a listing. If they did meet a listing , most cases would not be at ODAR.

Ive worked since I was 14, and now Im too sick to work and they arent there for me. I just dont get it. Ive cried all day and dont know what to do. If this is your ALJ, God help you all.

7/6/2012 1:01:11 PM

Brusque, unprepared, and elderly. During hearings, it appears that he looks for reasons to raise his voice. In one instance, he loudly alleged that there was no medical evidence to support a RFC from a particular treating source, only to be corrected that there were indeed more than 63 pages of evidence from this provider that he apparently failed to examine or even notice. In his denials, his idea of dealing with Social Security Ruling 96-7p is to simply insert in italics all of the claimant's testimony on one page. He then generally dismisses all of it as unpersuasive, without actually discussing what specific aspects he found objectionable.

Judge: Tamia N Gordon
7/5/2012 6:20:24 PM

Judge: Donald G Smith
6/8/2012 1:30:29 PM

Comes from somewhere in Kentucky (I think)- has the cutest Southern accent and he's sweet as pie. Don't be fooled: he'll deny for reasons completely foreign to me. He almost always send claimant to pre-hearing consultative exams, or send for medical interrogs. Sometimes he uses them; sometimes he doesn't. I have not seen any particular M.O. with him. Just watch out....

Judge: Michelle Thompson

Hottest looking ALJ I've seen. Very cute french sounding accent and a nice demeanor as well.

Judge: Michael J Kopicki

Terrible judge. Ignores evidence; twists statements, and is one of the most cynical individuals I have ever dealt with. Believes he knows more than doctors' do. I sincerely feet sorry for any disabled individual that has to go in front of him. Personally speaking, I don't think he's that intelligent and informed medically, despite what I am sure he believes of himself.

Judge: Elizabeth C Palacios
5/4/2012 2:42:09 PM

This is an ALJ who worked for the appeals council and you can tell in her decisions which are fairly negative. She may make sure to ask for very specific evidence to justify her denial. Most claims she has no intention of paying. She will probably write better decisions than most ALJ's since she is from the AC and is used to making up reasons to deny Claimant's appeals. I think she is fairly negative.
