bitch DENIED my claim based on a fkn NUMBER in my file she saw BEFORE my hearing started!!! that number she saw was "42". that was how old I was when I hoveled the fk into her "room"! my then attys: Henson Fuerst, they were SHOCKED beyond belief! They had won SSDI cases for clients with LESS wrong with them and next to NOTHING in proof (medical records)! This denial came after 3 fkn years of pain and fighting them! So, here I am YEARS LATER with NO INSURANCE (fkn OBUMMER was a LIAR about the SO-CALLED "ACA"), NO PHYSICAL WAY TO WORK/GO TO SCHOOL (yes, YES!! MY FKN DISABILITIES ARE REAL!!!), BUT! I do have something.... PAIN... PAIN EVERY FKN MINUTE OF EVERY FKN DAY!!! THAT DOES NOT GO AWAY! Sorry for the screaming... so here is what I know: CH was TRANSFERRED OUT of GA's system because she was denying 9 of 10 cases! My then attys: Henson Fuerst, it was their FIRST time in front of her with a case...she kinda just came outta nowhere, it was a switched up calendar and she was given my case at the last minute. I know, weird right! that # though.... 42. in her fkd up mind: "how can a 42 yo mixed race woman be so disabled she cannot work at all?" even when the evaluator (who actually had to REPEAT herself) stated that " my 'degenerating' state, none of [my] acquired trades would or ever COULD be an employment option for [me]..."; that glorified white bitch in a black robe still denied my claim. It's sad that ppl have to look at someone's color, make assumptions and TOTALLY SCREW THEIR LIVES UP FOREVER and still be revered as NORMAL. She just gets to bask in her WHITE WORLD brainless bs fkn ppls lives up along the way. COLLECTING to $$$$stufff along the way from all the UNSAVORIES of the world.... but HEY! I'm sure ShesWithHer and that's how THOSE TYPES work isn't it.......

I had judge Harper today, and I was scared going in. She was very nice and listened to my attorney, and then asked me a few additional questions. She asked me if I had anything else to say, and I just said a few sentences to her as to how it RA affects my personal life with my children/husband on a daily basis. She then awarded me a fully favorable decision and said that she wishes me luck in the future and I thanked her. It went a lot better than I had pictured, but I also had a ton of medical records and letters from my doctors supporting me. I also had a fantastic attorney. Thank you again Judge Harper! "Sara"

Judge Uren was a pleasant professional person. She listened to my claimaints clearly and attentively. I was not represented because my attorney withdrew months before the hearing so I represented myself to the best of my ability. Unfortunately I was denied again. In 2013 I had a microdiskectomy and a year later my condition worsened. This year in March I had a Lumbar Fusion with steel rods and screws now in my back. Before the surgery I had to do therapy for my neck also because I was and still is experiencing severe arms pain including numbness all the way down in my fingers. I failed therapy because it did not help. After the Fusion I had minor pain with my neck and arms but for the past three months the pain has returned. My back has began to hurt more middle and lower and pain generating down right leg severely. I cant sleep well stand or sit long or wallk long without hurting. My daily activity is limited completely. I am currently waiting for another hearing because I appealed Judge Urens decision. I pray for better results this time around because I have been denied four times. My occupation was a Certified Nursing Assistant of seventeen years. I am not able to work anymore and pray for a decision in my favor this time.

Judge Harper has her decision before you even go into her. I had all my paperwork from my doctors and letters from the doctors and she still denied me. She doesn't like to hear what you have to say. They could care less about us their families are taken care of.

I found that she mocks you for what she bases her opinion and the law. So if. You have had a slow job and coded by their criteria then you are considerd a slow working and thinking person. She asks a lot of questions and one being Do you go to church? She will smile and stab you in the back at the same time. Whether you have a lawyer or not she will find you unfavorable to the most without thinking about it.

I had a hearing before Judge Lewis in December 2015. He was nice, caring and a great listener. No decision has been made in my case yet but I feel from his tone and attitude that he is a great judge of character. I truly feel he understood my disabilities and will be fair in his decision.

Hi, Judge Russell Lewis was very caring, nice and fair he is a very good listener cause when you is having health issue sometimes you need that someone to see what you really going through that cares beside your doctors. I really didn't understand when he ask me what I like to do? Or what I do in my daily days routine. I apologize cause I" stated read which I don't cause after taken over 10 medication a day I cant do anything but sleep. Maybe watch a little t,v that all. The med makes me sleep, confuse a bit and drowsy so I lay down at least 4-5 times daily.

Judge: Peter B Storey
10/30/2015 1:01:19 AM

I was recently reading the positive reviews about Judge Peter Storey and his 65% approval rate and I thought to myself this can't be the same judge at my hearing in July 2015. My hearing lasted all of 15 minutes and when I received my unfavorable decision and read his negative comments I was so confused. He ignored all my relevant medical records and focused on the most ridiculous stuff to deny my case. I am a 100% disabled vet and I am under the care of more than 10 doctors, specialists and surgeons and I take more than 25 medications on a daily basis. I have thousands of medical records and reports and he never asked me questions about comments in my records. Even though he said he carefully reviewed my records I doubt that he did because he made a decision in less than 90 days. He commented on the fact that VA gave me a rating due to my uterus being removed but didn't review doctor note about the severe pain I am still in and the medications associated with the removal. I suffer from severe migraines but because I didn't report having a migraine everytime I saw one of my doctors he thought that I was lying. I had foot surgery in Jan 2014 and he said that in Mar 2014 my physical therapy notes said I was walking alot but he ignored that I was in therapy twice a week for 2 months and went from not able to walk without crutches to walking more. I have numerous medical conditions and they are controlled by alot of medications that states do not operate a vehicle or equipment while using but he says that I have minimal limitations and never asked me about the side effects of my medications. The bottom line is that his mind was already made up before I enter the hearing and he does not want the reputation as being the judge that is approving too many cases. I just began my appeal at the appeals council where I have less than a 2% chance of them saying he made a mistake. I’m 52 been working since I was 16, spent 28 years serving in the military and left mentally and physically ill and now being told by social security experts that I am not really really sick and I can find a job that will let me work for 2 hours a day and go to medical appointments every week and oh yeah I will be heavily medicated while working. This entire process is broken in Macon Georgia and needs an outsider to investigate the wrong doings.

This is how it went with her initially. I received letter as a reminder from the first initial contact. I found that my boss had changed my 4 hours of work to another day. I called to postpone hearing when I received reminder. The judges administrative clerk told me to send a letter telling why I wanted it postponed. So I faxed the next day. Received a voicemail that I had to be there. So I called back again and acknowledged that I would be there. I went to initial hearing and signed 2 forms. I will be receiving new date. I talked to an attorney a month ago gave info when his clerk asked so they say they would take care of it and not do anything. Attorneys and judges are all running a racket here anyway.

My paper work should be up there to confirm everything I just said. Please have a good day.

I found Judge Catherine Harper to be a fair, compassionate, honest Judge. She was very professional and very well informed about the facts in my case. First off Martin is not my real name, but I like it. I have read all of these comments and wonder how many of these cases were ready for prime time. I also wonder how many of these posters had good attorney's. I'm not a fan of the big box attorney's you see on TV taking cases nationwide. I far more prefer a local attorney hungry for a win. I think they prepare better cases. Judge Harper was fair in my case. She asked hard questions and seemed to really want to know the answer. She is well prepared and had read the material. I wonder if getting an unfavorable decision sparked the fire for some of these comments. Again, the Judge I saw (via video) was attentive, polite and again, prepared for the hearing. If you go before this Judge, please make sure your ready and that your attorney is ready. Things will go smoothly if you do. This is my second post.

I had Judge Harper and was treated fairly. Had a fully favorable decision on a case with tons of medical documentation. Also had an attorney that wrote a great brief/summary for the Judge that I'm sure made it easier for her to reach a decision. I know there are some negative comments about this judge, but in my case it was a fair hearing. I'm also aware that not all cases are ready for the judge and that could result in the unfavorable decisions.

There is NO way that this judge approves 56% of the claims she hears. 6% might be accurate, but that would probably be high. There is only one ALJ in the entire State of NC that is anywhere near as incompetent as she is. She will ignore all relevant medical records and testimony and focus on the most ridiculous stuff imaginable. If you get assigned to her, you are better off dismissing your request for hearing and starting over, because you will NOT get approved.

I had this judge for my hearing and was of course denied. Catherine interrupted my representation while he was talking and said that we needed to wrap it up so she could get to the next case. My lawyer told me that she is the lowest and worst judge that there is. She really needs to be taken off of the bench and all of the cases that she denied need to have the chance of being done again in front of a non-biased and fair judge that will take everything into consideration and not base their decision on what someone else thought. Catherine really messed up my case and falsified information. In addition she committed defamation of character and slander which is most definitely judicial misconduct and against the law. My lawyer has just informed me that he will not take my case any further due to my age. This judge, that is supposed to uphold, enforce, and follow herself, has broken the law, fabricated information, and made great mistakes in my case which ultimately ended up in an unfavorable decision. Now I have to appeal her decision and pray that the Appeals council will take a look at it and they will see how much Catherine Harper lied and falsified information just so that she could deny me. She already had her decision made before I even walked into the room. My hearing was ultimately a waste of time and for show. What goes around comes around. Always treat others the way you want to be treated.

I haven't received my decision regarding my SSDI hearing yet, but I do want to say that Judge Duane Young is a pretty fair judge. I didn't see this page until after my hearing when I was told the judges have their approval ratings online, so I wanted to present a fair view of him now and how I feel regardless of how he rules. He's good when it comes to your records and will allow you to explain what's in your records. I was honest with him about my records and my physical limitations and he was respectful. He did ask me a couple of tricky yes or no questions that were hard to answer in my situation but he understood what I was talking about. I've heard about other judges and how they do things, but Judge Duane Young actually seems to be one of the more respectful judges. Plus there are a lot of people out there who hope for a judge that gives them a fair shake and they don't always get that, especially from the sound of some of the newspaper articles around the country talking about how the judges don't hear them out or pay attention to the medical evidence. My final 2 cents is that as long as you're honest with him and you try to answer his questions the best you can, he's fair and you'll feel comfortable.

Judge: Catherine Harper
5/2/2013 1:03:00 AM

First of all, to the person who compared the "53% Catherine Harper" to the "24% Catherine Harper": While I congratulate you on your exceedingly rare positive experience with Judge Harper, I respectfully disagree with your glowing review, based on my recent appearance before her as a claimant. I have worked for over half a century, and have endured the mandatory deductions from every paycheck I have ever earned, by the SSA. This arrangement, we are told, is partially to ensure that funds will be available to workers who become disabled, and can no longer work to support themselves. In all fairness to you, I can understand your perspective as a representative OF a disabled person appearing before Judge Harper. You are still employed whether she approves or denies your client's claim, and you still have the means to support yourself. Imagine how you'd feel if you were a disabled person and found out, MUCH to your surprise, that the Judge assigned to decide your case was cold, arrogant, rude, and totally lacking in compassion and understanding. It is unthinkable that a person with the disposition of Catherine Harper would CHOOSE a profession that requires her to make decisions that affect people's lives and futures...since she so obviously holds working class people in such contempt. We are advised to "think before we post" because the judge we are leaving comments about might read them. I humbly submit that perhaps Catherine Harper should "think before she destroys a person's life". If you are reading this, Catherine...remember that no one chooses to be disabled, and we would rather be working and earning a living as opposed to this harsh, cruel reality we are now faced with, a reality of an uncertain future and basic, day-to-day survival because you denied our claim after we have held up OUR part of the bargain. As a representative of the Federal Government, it's your turn to hold up YOUR part of the bargain you made with US....when you took our money all these years and DECADES. If we had pulled a scam like this, we'd all be in a Federal Prison for racketeering.

I am an extremely well experienced representative. For those of us who have been around awhile, it's interesting that within a year ALJ Harper has gone from a 24% approval rating, with one of the lowest rates in Macon, to one of the highest with 53%. Looks like a total reinvention, as the numbers don't lie. The previous posters were writing about the 24% version of Judge Harper, not the apparently new and improved one.

3/6/2013 10:19:57 AM

Reps at my firm said that Judge Harper was really nice. That's been my experience as well. She friendly and very pleasant, putting clients at ease with her down to earth conversational style. Her approval rate is higher than many other judges in the office too.

Judge: Catherine Harper
2/3/2013 11:30:36 AM

Absolutely astonishing....I was searching for information about Catherine Harper in order to discover if she treated others the same way she treated me, and I see that I wasn't her first victim.....and probably won't be her last. I'm sorry all you folks in Georgia had to endure appearing before this maniac, and you'll be relieved to learn that she's been transferred to Raleigh, NC. Apparently, I was one of the first few here to have the misfortune to appear before her. She was arrogant, rude, hateful, snide, and EXTREMELY abusive to me AND my lawyer. I had already decided to make it a new hobby of mine to have her removed from the bench even BEFORE I knew if she would deny my claim! Of course, she denied my claim, and twisted the statements on my claim as well as what I said at my hearing...even calling Tramadol an "over the counter medication" after asking me at the hearing where I got it, and me telling her "from a doctor's prescription". Just before my hearing, my lawyer warned me that "She seems to have a bubbly, vivacious personality, but word has it she's a Battleaxe!" As a person who has worked and paid into Social Security since the early 70's, I had an expectation to AT LEAST be treated with dignity and respect at my hearing. The research I have conducted so far indicates that she treats younger people like me (I'm 51) like DIRT, even CRIMINALS who are trying to scam the system! I was on my second dose of Tramadol when I appeared in her courtroom, which left me completely unable to think fast enough to counter the barrage of hostile questions. Fortunately, the medication I was on probably saved me from ejection from the hearing, as well as being arrested for suggesting the optimal internal location for her gavel. This "judge" is not fit to impartially make decisions that can determine a person's future, and should be removed from the bench....I've seen Pitbulls with more compassion, and rattlesnakes with more empathy, than this egotistical, black-hearted witch! God help those who have the bitter misfortune to have their SSD claims decided by Cathrine Harper.........a true menace to society, and the bane of common decency.

I have known Judge Storey as a colleague at the Board of Veterans Appeals and as an ALJ prior to my retirement in 1996. He is a fair and honest judge and anyone fortunate enough to come before him should be assured of an objective and thorough decision.

Judge Storey has always been a fair and compassionate adjudicator, first with the BVA and then with OHA.

Judge: Amy Uren

Utterly unreasonable. Don't be fooled by a pleasant working demeanor. Your claim will be denied unless you are rolled into the hearing room on a stretcher. She will pull any small thing out of the record and weave it into a reason to deny a claim. As evidence of her toughness, her pay rate has declined from around 50/50 to 37%. Well qualified individuals are being denied by ALJ Uren. Plan on appealing her decision, every time.

LOL. If the stakes weren't so high for our clients she would be comical. She is Delores Umbridge from the Harry Potter series

Ever notice how if approved, someone rates a judge great, but if denied, he is a devil? Just sayin'.

Judge: Vernon J King
9/12/2012 9:30:38 AM

This judge sends a registered letter, requiring all sorts of pre-hearing development, rather than allowing the atty to put on the case he/she wants. Asks for pharmacy printouts. Will not hold the hearing until all his requests are met. Strange. Belittles clients who are illiterate or mentally challenged. Someone should file a complaint on this judge.

Judge: David Cornelius
9/12/2012 9:27:37 AM

Tends to pick up on strange little details, then weave them into something to use against the claimant. Seems tough on younger claimants.

Judge: Catherine Harper

The SSA promises claimants a non-adversarial hearing. Webster defines that as friendly, hospitable, nonantagonistic, nonhostile, sympathetic. Judge Harper has no concept of what that means. The best judges are the ones who have learned how to deny cases that need to be denied who still hold truely non-adversarial hearings.

Judge Washington has that rare capacity to discern the human heart. He is compassionate, but not a bleeding heart. He tolerates no BS. I respect him greatly.

Judge: Cam Oetter
9/7/2012 10:53:39 AM

Judge Oetter is probably the most intelligent ALJ I've known. However, I envision him nerdishly poring over the records for some inconsistency or other. He studies reactions of both claimant and rep, presumably for clues on credibility? He often finds claimants not to be credible. Often gives little or no weight to RFCs, summarily stating that they are inconsistent with the medical records. He ALWAYS seems to understand issues that escape many ALJs, such as SGA, subsidies, etc. I actually like him, but always try to bring my A-game.

Judge: Carol G Moore
9/7/2012 10:49:32 AM

Background in family law, and seems to pay more attention to spousal and childhood abuse than do most judges. Definitely has a heart, but can be particularly tough on younger individuals. No tolerance for substance abuse, as it should be.

Judge: Russell W Lewis

Fair, reasonable, personable, transparent.

Judge: Vernon J King
9/7/2012 10:46:36 AM

What a maroon! Asks all sorts of extraneous questions, trying to trick someone into giving an answer he can use to deny. Seems to be the kid who was picked on in elementary school, and is now determined to get his revenge. Sad guy.

she denied my husband. he is blind in one eye from diabetes.he can hardly walk on his left foot from surgery. he sleeps alot from the medication. he has worked all his life and was at his last job 25 years. She treated him as if he never worked and was just someone wanting a check. although i wasn't in the courtroom i could hear her outside. she seems very rude and loud. she didn't want to listen to him talk or explain anything. i hope she never becomes disabled. if she does it would probably be from not being able to sleep at night.

Benefits are essentially available for the asking with this judge, who rarely lets the record get in the way of a claimant's payday.

Judge: Amy Uren

Judge Uren is tough, and I have to appeal her decisions regularly, for she is far too willing to elevate State Agency doctor opinions above the opinions given by primary treating docs. On the positive side, however, Judge Uren is courteous and patient, and will afford your claimant all the time needed to present the entire case. She is thorough in her questioning as well. I rate her at four stars because she is professional and a delight to deal with. She'd get five if she would pay out claims at a slightly better rate!

Judge: Catherine Harper
4/22/2012 3:40:59 AM

I agree with all the above comments, I went before her via video conference and she was very rude. She acted as though I was lying to her about my medical and mental conditions. When I received my denial letter its like she took everything I said and twisted it. I really don't believe that she read any of my medical or mental records. She also stated after VE testimony that I can't go back doing my previous jobs but I can do other jobs which would very much be a strain on me because of my medical condition. How crazy is that? She really need to be removed from the bench because she does not have any sympathy for others I really hate it if she ever becomes disabled and faced with the same problem.

Judge: Catherine Harper

Catherine harper is very rude. My social security is in the appeal process because she didnt take the time to acknowledge my disabilities.

Judge: Cam Oetter

Judge Cam Oetter is definitely a judge that you do not want for an ALJ hearing

Judge: Catherine Harper
3/23/2012 8:30:04 AM

Very negative ALJ. She is rude to the Claimant's and their representation. Even in the rare times she decides to pay the case she still shows her true colors by her horrible attitude.
