Very fair judge. He was very polite and very professional. It was obvious that he and the vocational expert had reviewed my medical records beforehand. After almost 3 yrs of fighting and waiting due to my age, he approved my case on the spot. Very grateful.

How could he deny my son when he has only one ventricle, artificial valve, pacemaker, and arrhythmia, and panic attacks? After waiting 2 1/2 years. I don't understand.

I appeared before Judge Maclean on January 14th, 2014, and he was very prepared for my case. He was very considerate, and seemed understand my circumstances and my case very well. He is very fair in my opinion. I think he tries to always do what is right for the people. For this reason, I am writing this with hope that Judge Maclean will see this and hopefully, I will get my case handed to the UNDERWRITING DEPARTMENT. I really need your help Mr. Maclean, and I do hope that you will get them to work on my case very soon. I have been waiting, and I called the office today, but all I got was voice mail, and I left 3 messages with no return phone call, or reply. PLEASE HELP ME!! MY CAR WAS REPOSSESSED AND I AM ABOUT TO BECOME HOMELESS! I just don't understand why this process is taking so very long to simply send over to the underwriters...PLEASE HE ME!!!

I appeared before Judge Maclean last week. Judge Mac lean was extremely prepared for my hearing. He wasvery concerned, I felt, for my well being and that of my family. However my attorney, Mr. Shapiro of Herd and Smith, was in my opinion not prepared for the hearing. He failed to produce the pre trial brief requested by Judge Maclean, now a week out, after being given 30 days to complete the brief,my attorneyhas notified me that they have been given additional time to complete the brief and I should anticipate a 2 to 4 month wait before Mr. Maclean makes a final ruling in my case. I do not feel like this is at the Judges request. I believe it is in some way an attempt in the behalf if my attorney to draw out the decision in my case in an effort to increase their revenues received, as a % of my back pay. I don't knowwhat to do I can barely put a meal together for my children and my psychological conditions continue to get worse. Judge Maclean in my opinion will not allow this if he knew the current temperature of my families financial conditions. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!! HELP JUDGE MACLEAN

URGENT JUDGE AND NEEDS ATTENTION IN THE WORST WAY. WHAT DO I DO ..I was found disabled back in dec last year. ssi is with holding my monthly check from me that i use to live on. they made a mistake on what to pay my attorney and are now withhoding my ssi because Judge John E. Case re-opened my case after finding i was disabled and added more back-pay. I am about to be evicted because I havent been able to pay my rent on disablity alone which is only $375. my rent is $600 a month and my only source of income is social security. shouldnt that amount that my attorney was owed come from my back pay and not my monthly check im suposed to live on. i called both local and main social security offCie and they tell me there is nothing they can do to help me. Judge if you read this please I beg you to respond to me. I asked my attorney for help and they tell me my case is done and theres nothing they can do either. PLEASE HELP ME. You were a very nice Judge and made me feel comfortable but now i feel overwhelmed that no one wants to help me. Please help. this is real urgent. im sick over it.

I hope this judge can sleep at night. She was not fair. I have not been able to hold down a job in 5+ years. I have RA and a spinal cord injury. I can walk but with extreme pain. I am losing my house and my credit while she thinks I should get a job at a ticket booth for minimum wage.

It is very important, to have your Primary Care Provider to complete the Residual Functional Capacity(RFC) forms for you. The Judge needs evidence of your total impairment(s) and limitations. The Judge must adhere to the federal guidelines. Your work history will speak for you. If you are 55 or older, and have the appropriate medical evidence and your documents are well organized by you or your representative, this is a plus. Answer all questions honestly, and make sure your paper work is up-to-date. Be prepared to answer questions concerning your Daily Activities. Visit youtube.com and search for "Social Security Disability Hearings", the videos are very helpful. The Lawyers provides helpful information.

I've had one hearing with this ALJ. He was very professional, calm, and gave claimant a very fair and complete hearing. His award rate has come down a bit over the last year. He will ask some general background questions and then will give you specific direction on how he wants the medical testimony developed. He asks a full range of hypotheticals. He ended up denying this claim for lack of supportive medical but it was still a very fair hearing and a well reasoned decision.

He seems to be biased towards intelligent men. Somehow, he does not think they are suffering from major depression unless they break verbs and fit into his limited scope of what a depressed man should look like and how they should articulate.

I went for my hearing on July 26th 2012 and I received my denial letter on September 15th 2012. I am assuming it was denied because he did not give much weight to my doctor saying that I cannot work. That is what the letter actually says. I cannot believe they allow judges to go against what the doctors say, why do they even ask for the paperwork if they will just go against it anyway. I am so devastated with the denial but I am not giving up. I will continue to trust God for a good outcome. This judge really needs out of this position.

This is an awful Judge he should not even be on this panel of judges for the determination of what is peoples lively-hood and their only ray of hope. He is rude, uncaring, he should have went to school to be a doctor instead of a judge as he over turns doctors diagnosis and more or calls them liars and feels he is smarter than any of them. He should not be on the bench in any form. This man needs serious help he is a bad person and I can only hope the Government will see through this man and get him off this panel of judges.

Gave an Unfavorable Ruling. This judge re-worded witness statements and cherry-picked medical reports to justify his ruling. Treating Physician diagnosis were discounted in favor of state examiners that have never seem the patient and possibly have not seen the most recent medical tests. Heart condition was quoted as "mild" from a 2007 evaluation while there was a 2010 evaluation rating the condition as "Moderate to Severe with 60% pumping efficiency" that was ignored. Edward Snyder is either biased or incompetent. His approval rate is below both Chattanooga and TN averages.

MAY GOD BLESS THIS ALG. I AM A DISABLED VETERAN WHO SERVED MY COUNTRY. I BECAME DISABLED IN 2005. I HAVE APPLIED FOR SSD BENEFITS FOR 6 YEARS, I AM HOMELESS, LOST MY RETIRED MILITARY WIFE, WHO SERVED THIS COUNTRY BEFORE PASSING AWAY.WORKED EVERY SINCE I WAS 15 YEARS OLD. THE SSA DENIED ALL MY REQUESTS, OTHER JUDGES DENIED MY REQUEST. BUT, JUDGE OPP FINALLY APPROVED IT. HAVING BEEN BORN IN HARD TIMES, SUFFERING WAS NOT NEW TO ME. THE MONEY WAS NOT AN ISSUE TO ME. JUST BEING AWARDED SOMETHING THAT I EARNED, AND, IN MY WORSE OF THE WORSE TIME, NEEDED. THIS ONE JUDGE READ ALL THE DOCUMENTS, AND SAW THAT FOR 6 YEARS, I WAS UNFAIRLY DENIED MY BENEFITS. HE WILL BE TRULY BLESSED WHEN HE LEAVES THIS WORLD. AND, I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM FOR SEEKING THE TRUTH.

Just awful. Even his fellow ALJs can't stand him. He has a burning desire to be the smartest guy in the room...a tall order regardless of the company. That said, his ego can be an advantage. If you don't obstruct his quest to prove his intelligence, he will often debate himself right into awarding the case. Caveat: LOVES to play doctor and evaluate the treatment prescribed. Also, he has had lumbar disc surgery and because he had a generally good outcome, naturally presumes everyone does (refer back to "smartest guy" issue).

If you have notice that he is your judge, be sure to write a pre-hearing memorandum, which he especially appreciates. If it's your first time before him, he may try to test a representative's preparation. Overall, he is respectful to both representatives and claimants. He is always prepared for a hearing, always fair, and does his best to make the right call by applying the regulations the way they were intended. A lot of ALJs could learn a lot from Judge Maclean.
