I had court today for PTSD, degressive depressive disorder and anxiety. The judge and his assistant were very polite even though I was tearful, nervous and full of anxiety out of my control. I really feel like he listened to me and understood I was being honest with my case. I pray I receive a fully favorable soon as no decision was made in court. He is not mean like everyone says and if I could work I would and I respect a man his age working. He has a tracheostomy and speaks through a voice box but is very easy to understand. I was previously a Respiratory Therapist so it may have been easier for me to understand him but he was smart, kind and understanding in my opinion. I have a great respect for my elders and I think he saw that. My medical records prove it all so I have great faith he will make the right decision and approve me as soon as possible. Don't let these other posts scare you all. He isn't who he is made out to be on these negative posts.

This judge is absolutely horrible! I couldn't tell in his decision if he was outright lying or just not too bright or just lazy. Maybe it was all three. I'd like to go into detail, but don't feel comfortable doing so at this time. Do those of us with disabilities a favor, Ingram: Give a careful, competent look at our cases, or just retire.

My hearing was today. She was very nice polite and to the point. My impression is that she will be more than fair. I wanted to rate her today before any decisions were made as to be fair to her.

Based on his opinion he denied me because of my age, stating I'm 44 and can bounce back. My doctors all signed off for my disability and I still was denied, maybe judge Lang should get off the bench and retire cause he's hurting people more so than helping them. In my deniel letter it also stated I have a email address so I'm able to communicate, I had a email address long before I got sick so that shouldn't make a difference at all!!

Judge Ingram appeared to be very pleasant at my hearing with him. Although I was denied by him for disability at hearing in 2015, I still found him to be again very knowledgeable and pleasant doing my hearing with him.

Judge Sheldon Zisook at age 82 shouldn't be a judge any longer. He denied me 2 times even though he sent me to 4 different doctors. Every doctor including my primary said I am disabled but the judge doesn't believe any of them. He plays GOD with peoples lives. After the first denial, it went to the Appeals Council and they sent a letter remanding it back to the judge to take care of what they lined out along with the recommendation to make a new decision. He refused to do what the Appeals Council told him to do. He is bad for Arizona.

My husband received his decision by ALJ Zisook. Since it is "fully favorable", it might sound that I am subjective but really not, just want to give my 2 cents, since I visited this site before and knew that I can leave a comment. Firstly, when my husband had a hearing, several hours later, he said that judge "was not asking stupid questions and didn't prolong hearing more than necessary, because my husband has fear of other people and when he came put, he didn't remember anything that went in there immediately after it was done, because he was scared and just wanted to go home and there, after several hours, he said simply "Judge didn't ask stupid questions and let me go before I had a panic attack". After reading ALJ Zisook's decision today, I really have to say that he addressed every single medical source and his opinion on them. I literally mean he addressed everything, which means he really did look atound a lot before making a decision. And because of that, I would have left him 5 stars even if had denied him. I understand that denail of claim can make somebody become subjective in their comments. I really believe that ALJ Zisook is very professional. You might have different view but we all have our own circumstances (I am writing this instead of my husband, who had not used computer in several years, nor he watches TV etc...). Also, he had Stephanie Lake as his lawyer, I am sure she helped by pointing out to things that I, and especially my husband, would never know.

I have now appeared before Judge Peebles three times. Out of the 70 or so ALJs I've been before, he is one of the best. Conducts his hearings logically and calmly, is polite to the claimant and ensures she understands what is going on, is fully aware of what's in the record. He may come to a different conclusion than what the claimant/representative would like, but he will do it fairly and conscientiously. Know your case, prepare your client, and expect to be treated in a dignified, congenial manner.

This judge is a true jerk. I was denied because in my medical records he saw on one of office visit notes where I had discussed with my rheumatologist that I had gone a cruise with my family and how bad I felt on the trip and how bad I hurt and all I wanted to do was sleep and the doctor had increased my med at that visit. He also denied me because I was told to go to the gym and stretch and move by my doctor. What am I suppose to do just sit in a recliner all day or stay in bed????? If I had been denied based on the reports from several doctors that would be one thing but he denied me based in his opinion!!!!!

This judge lies. He lied about what medical records he had in his possession. The medical records that he said he didn't have are clearly listed in the "Medical Records" section at the end of his decision. He believed nothing that I said and nothing that any of the doctors said. Two of those doctors were hired by the Social Security Administration. In his decision, Judge Peebles seemed to be arguing with the doctors. I was diagnosed with several illnesses which the doctors documented in the records and still Judge Peebles said in his decision that I don't have any of these illnesses. He said that the doctor's opinion was inconsistent with the overall records. He threw out other diagnoses because he said my answers were inconsistent with those illnesses. He misspelled many of the words in his decision and some of those that were spelled correctly were misused, i.e. dysphonic (problems with the voice) vs. dysphoric (unhappy).

I haven't received my decision letter yet but I liked her she's not rude she's doing her job. Lord knows if she didn't stop me I'd told her my life story and 50 others that weren't to do with this case haha I trust her decision will be in my best interest if not there's a good reason I'm sure. But if not I'll be back to fight it.

I did not approve of this disabled judge from the beginning, he forgot he swore me in. asked the court reporter if I had been sworn in, she said no. So he swore me in a second time ( real competent !!) Then when repeating my name, he said he was going to call me by my first name" BECAUSE HE DIDN'T WANT TO MAKE LOVE TO ME !!!!! " I TOOK OFFENSE TO THIS. THIS WAS TOTALLY UNAPPROPRIATE. I WOULD BE HELD IN CONTEMPT IF I SAID THAT TO A JUDGE. HE HAS A DIFFERENT CODE OF EHTICS THAN ANYONE BELOW HIM HAS. I WOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED FROM MOST OF MY RETAIL JOBS IF I APPROACHED ANYONE WITH THAT COMMENT. HE SHOULD NOT BE ON THAT BENCH. HIS JUDGEMENTS WERE EXXAGERATED AND UNTRUE, SO HE ALSO LIES. I AM TOATLLY DISQUESTED. I REQUESTED THE AUDIO OF THE HEARING AS PROOF. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT AGAINST THIS INCOMPETENT OUTSPOKEN JUDGE.

Recently had hearing with this ALJ on remand of a case. ALJ did not seem familiar with file; he wanted to rush things along; he did not seem to be following the directives of the Appeals Council as to what should be addressed at the remand hearing.

Judge: William R Ingram
5/30/2013 2:15:19 PM

ALJ is older with long white hair; has pleasant demeanor. Will often ask Rep to identify key exhibits supporting theory of case at beginning. Will ask claimant questions like "Could you be a Wal-Mart greeter? or a salesperson at Bass Pro Shop?" Hearings often start late. Award rate is in the middle/average range.

Out of line, abuses power, demeaning, ignores attorneys and reams of legitimate records, takes away hope, why would an applicant who has worked for 30+ years seek to live on $700/mo? To wait 2 years for a hearing only to be told one can sort limes on a processing line part time? Anyone have such a job for 20 minute shifts? No wonder there is such a high suicide rate for those that become disabled after long careers.

It is a very shallow statement to state that a person who can go to school is not disabled. There are many people that are born with disabilities or become disabled in life, yet they are offered extra help to go to school and grants are offered to disabled people to go to secondary school. I have rheumatoid arthritis, a lung condition related to the R.A., and a heart condition, and I receive disability because I am no longer able to perform the type of work I did before my diagnosis. I am now in college and seeking a degree in psychology so that I can one day return to work and no longer have to depend on disability. Yes, I do have to take small class loads and I have to inform my instructors of my condition, and at times get extended time some of my work, but I am sure trying. Just because a person becomes disabled does not mean they should have to sit and stare at walls and depend on $700 a month income; they have every right to improve their education, thus giving them a chance to improve their choices for work opportunity and not have to live the rest of their life drawing a disability check. The Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) passed in 1975 and the Americans with Disabilities Act both offer help in education for those who are disabled; yes, the government does recognize that a person can be disabled, yet go to school.

It is very important, to have your Primary Care Provider to complete the Residual Functional Capacity(RFC) forms for you. The Judge needs evidence of your total impairment(s) and limitations. The Judge must adhere to the federal guidelines. Your work history will speak for you. If you are 55 or older, and have the appropriate medical evidence and your documents are well organized by you or your representative, this is a plus. Answer all questions honestly, and make sure your paper work is up-to-date. Be prepared to answer questions concerning your Daily Activities. Visit youtube.com and search for "Social Security Disability Hearings", the videos are very helpful. The Lawyers provides helpful information. My hearing took 8 minutes, I received a favorable bench decision. Thank God

BONUSES?!...... "....A former administrative law judge in the Huntington office told the Wall Street Journal in a May 2011 article he thought supervisors didn't crack down on Daugherty because he helped the office meet its goals for processing cases, which would bring bonuses. The Social Security Administration started investigating Daugherty after that May 2011 article, which pointed to Daugherty as an example of the financial strains that threaten to drain one Social Security disability fund dry. Daugherty told the newspaper he had done nothing improper in awarding disability payments to people. He resigned in mid-2011."

MR JERRY LANG IS A JERK. NO ONE LIKES HIM AND HE DENIES MORE THAN 70% OF THE CASES HE HEARS. BACK IN 2006 WHEN I HAD MY FIRST CASE HEARD IN HIS LITTLE COURTROOM, HE AWARDED ME WITH A CLOSED PERIOD SETTLEMENT. HE STATED THAT AFTER MY 1ST BACK SURGERY THAT I COULD RETURN TO WORK, UNFORTUNENTLY THE PROBLEM IS, MY MEDICAL ISSUES CONTINUED TO DECLINE AND WHEN I SAW HIM AGAIN IN 2009, I NEEDED A 2ND BACK SURGERY AND I HAD ADDITIONAL MEDICAL ISSUES IN ADDITION TO WHAT I ALREADY WAS DEALING WITH. NOT ONLY DID HE DENY ME AN AWARD FOR MY 2ND HEARING VIA TELECONFERENCE BUT HE DID SO WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF HAVING MORE MEDICAL ISSUES AND ACCEPTED THE FACT THAT I WAS DISABLED FOR A PERIOD OF 3 YEARS BECAUSE HE GAVE ME A CLOSED PERIOD AWARD. SO YOU TELL ME, 1ST TIME CLOSED AWARD, 2ND TIME THINGS ARE WORSE AND I AM DENIED. THAT MAKES NO SESNE. JUST LAST WEEK, 02/19/2013, I WENT BACK TO DYERSBURG TO SEE A DIFFERENT ALJ BUT THAT MAN CALLED IN SICK AND GUESS WHO I WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE? MR JERRY LANG AKA: JERK! SO IVE HAD 2 BACK SURGERIES NOT TO MENTION MENTAL ISSUES AND A BLOOD CLOT WHEREAS I HAVE LIFE LONG DEBILITATING NEGATIVE ISSUES AS A RESULT. WHEN I FOUND OUT WHO WAS GOIN TO HEAR MY CASE, I JUST DISMISSED IT. IT WOULD BE A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME BECAUSE WE ALREADY KNKOW HOW THE MAN OPERATES. IM GOING TO MOVE TO ANOTHER STATE AND IF NOT, THEN ANOTHER COUNTY FAR FROM ALJ JERRY LANG. I HOPE THIS MAN SUFFERS SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE FROM CHRONIC PAIN, THEN AND ONLY THEN HE WILL UNDERSTAND. IT WOULD BE MUCH BETTER IF HE JUST COMMITED SUICIDE AND SAVED THE TAX PAYERS MONEY AND SAVERD ALL THE MANY PPL THAT NEED DISABILITY TO BEABLE TO HAVE SOME FORM OF QUALITY OF LIFE. Video Hearing. POOR quality video and audio. Each time after claimant and I spoke there was a weird "feedback". She sets 4 hearings at the same time and expects claimants and representatives to wait. You may wait a long time even if your hearing notice says 8:30 AM. ALJ went on the record and swore claimant in. She never introduced herself to the claimant. No review of exhibits and if there were any objections to the exhibits. No VE. Seems to be looking for a way to deny claimants instaed of giving a fair and balanced hearing.

Judge: Robert Hodum
4/4/2012 11:00:11 AM

He's a coward who makes decisions on peoples behalf behind their backs instead of face to face. That kind of cowardice needs recognition. I'll bet if he was required to make decisions in the company of the litigants, his track record would be better. I'll bet if he were to see one of his former litigants on the street, one that was denied, he would turn tail and run like the yellow scum he is.

Judge: Robert Hodum
4/4/2012 10:48:29 AM

No doubt his decisions are based on ethnicity rather then facts. If medical information supports that I'm disabled, and I'm denied, then racism is the only conclusion that I can come up with. I truely think that he bases his decisions on the ethnicity of a persons last name or the color of their skin. He needs to be removed. He's no doubt a racist.

Judge: Robert Hodum
3/30/2012 2:05:16 PM

Judge Hodum is the most worthless piece of **** on the face of the earth. He does not take into account all viable information before making his uninformed decisions and does not have the mental ability to take all variables into account and understand them. Therefore, his decisions are uninformed and radical. If this is the type of garbage we have sitting on our disability benches in the State of Missouri, then no one need apply for benefits. His ability to twist the facts in the governments favor and deny claims based on partial information, should make him a prime candidate for a socialist decoration of the highest order.
