I went before Judge Patane regarding my SS claim. I was injured a few years ago and have had several doctors including my employers IME rule in my favor saying that I am permanently disabled. I can no longer work at my job and was terminated because of it. Despite having sent the judge over 200 documents including some from my employer I was given a hearing and essentially called a liar. My attorney could not make the hearing and I wasn’t granted an adjournment. Judge Patane was rude and condescending, questioning why I couldn’t still do my job. Maybe its because my employer got rid of me. I have been working with NYS employment agencies and they can’t find me work within my disability but Judge Patane knows better. I had sent him all the records of this including my evaluations from NYS Vesid with them saying I will not be able to work unless its within my disability and how hard that would be. But instead he chose to be rude and give me a hard time.

In 2009 I went through weeks of paperwork, phone interviews, appeals about being over resources. SS could not comprehend that my check register (money available) was always much lower than bank statements because I charge everything on credit cards to float the money for 3+ weeks cycle. I’m on automatic payments scheduled after the first week of the month when the checks come in, that money is committed to the payee, I can’t use it for anything else. The Judge’s phone call was fast, pleasant, courteous and efficient, he got it, and absolved me completely.
