If you get this judge for a phone hearing (or video) object immediately and just wait to have an in person hearing. He could barley get two words out at a time. I am not sure what is going on here.
I had this judge and by the reviews I was really scared I would get him on a bad day. I filed my case in Jan of 2019 and had been denied 2x before my hearing in March 2022. The first 5 minutes he stated my case should never have been denied and without waiting months for an answer, I found out I was approved. I think if you have a good case, he’s fair. Otherwise, he’s going to pick it apart if he thinks you can work any job.
One of the least prepared judges I’ve dealt with. Misses majors reports in the file frequently.
This judge is not fit to be a disability judge! He wouldn’t let me get 3 words out and interrupted me every time. Kept telling the vocational work I’m not trying to sway your opinion but can she do this or that. Spent 2 hrs on the phone with this going on the whole time. Then get my denial with things that was never said! I have tons of medical records backing me up. Can’t understand him consider yourself very lucky if he approves you.
I know i sound like everyone else, but it is true. He is a very bad judge. From the time you get there he is looking for stuff to deny you. Ill say this he does go over all your paper work you turn in, but he knit picks it and turns it against you in any way possible. Not to mention i had a bad lawyer. They went over nothing to prepare me with judge, not that it would of mattered. Any ways if you get this judge your 85% screwed. Not sure that you can request another judge. I wish you luck..
This so called judge is not fit to determine anything. He is clearly working to deny as many cases as possible as evidenced by his 70% denial rate. He seemed to already have the case decided before I even said a word. He is not fair, very hard to understand, and should not be any kind of judge. All we ask for was a fair hearing and we got this guy. If you get him, try to request another Judge.
He seems professional and knowledgeable but he has a very strong Jamaican or Caribbean accent which makes him very difficult to understand when he speaks. It is an impediment which may cause undue stress for clients who appear before him at a hearing.
Not only is he a competent judge, but he is very smart! I’m very impressed with his style of delivery and his knowledge of the law. He may not please everybody, but he’s fair and works according to the law. Keep up the wonderful work Judge Woode.
