I have had the unfortunate pleasure of knowing Judge Corinne McLaughlin for years. In short, she possesses no legal talent. She is frequently rude and unprofessional. McLaughlin lacks emotionally maturity and possesses a serious deficit in her ability to provide legal analysis and reasoning. McLaughlin is uninformed about the application of the law and frequently goes off “half-cocked”. Consequently, McLaughlin is frequently overturned for her poorly supported decisions. She does not listen during her hearings, having made up her mind beforehand. She frequently (mistakenly) thinks she is the smartest person in the room. McLaughlin will tell you she is over-worked and that certainly accounts for her willingness to rush a case if it helps her “keep up”. She has disdain for claimants and co-workers alike.
Judge Mclaughlin is an excellent listener. Thorough and fair. She is clear and direct in her questions and is apprised of each case before, during and after her decision. She takes each client’s case as individual and is focused on making a decision in the best interest of each person before her. While I do not know the decision she has made on my case, I write this opinion based upon my experience not based upon the results. I appreciated Judge McLaughlin because she was different than I expected and was not “burned out” listening to so many cases each one runs together. I appreciated being treated compassionately and like an individual. Thank you.
