Judge Priester must follow the requirements of the law, but he can also show compassion by seeing into an applicant’s world to fairly evaluate the individual’s honesty and needs as a part of the evidence to balance before his decision. My wife’s case was difficult on us as her issues are neurological, coming and going without any pattern, triggers and intensities remaining without any, as yet, recognized consistency. Her life is a bit easier thanks to his positive verdict. We know many will feel cheated when they are denied their claim, but every day my wife and I know that we are evidence that Judge Priester will do what he can, when he can, to assist each person as an important individual.
