I was a nervous wreck before and during my hearing, as most of us are. I had read reviews here for months prior and of course we never know which judge will hear our claim and whether they will approve our disability. I thankfully was in a hearing with Judge Consentino. He asked questions, listened intently and nodded as I spoke, which helped me to continue vs. forgetting all that I needed to say. When I started crying, he told me that it was ok and that it was very normal for people to cry at this process. He seemed very kind and bid me farewell as I left the room. I received my approval before 30 days, I was shocked at how quickly, since it took so long for my hearing date. I feel Judge Consentino was very fair and his report for my fully favorable decision was thorough. Best of luck to you.

This judge likes to do shorter hearings (30 min); if there are any earnings/income after AOD you will need documentation! He has a very pleasant disposition and will do thorough, conversational questioning of claimant. He doesn’t usually ask for opening or closing statement. Has a reputation as being a very fair judge.

This judge is a good guy. He gives the claimant the benefit of the doubt.

ALJ Cosentino has been doing this work for a long time and really knows SSA. He is fair and very professional in his conducting of hearings. He gives ALJ’s a good name.
