As a rep with 20 years experience…..This judge is just fine. I don’t know if I won my clients case but the hearing was normal. Some judges like help from the rep. Not this one. He’s got it. Which is fine!!!! Just stay quiet until you are supposed to talk. I didn’t find him much different from any of my local judges who are all great!
Kurt D Schuman is one of the worst alj’s In Colorado. If u get this judge,I would give him the ****** in more ways then one.Now I must suffer and still have to go back to a job, that will only lay me off for my symptoms. *** * *** *** **** ****** *** ******.
Kurt d bag shuman was my alj.He was unprofessionally,he argued with a lady all about paper from the printer.Rude and heartless.*** *** ****… ****** *** ***** **** ** **** *** **** *** ******.He knew I was living in a van with my 4 month old son on oxygen.!
Horrible. Asks belittling questions, ignores treating physicians’ records and notes, doubts diagnoses and undermines your disabilities. Got a denial that could’ve passed for a Mad Libs.
Got denied for no good reason. The Disability system isn’t nearly adequate to adress all the disabled in this country. This is why we have so many crazy people sleeping on the streets.
Was rude, sarcastic, seemed like he had more important things to do. Not at all the characteristics I expected from a federal judge in such an important event for the claimant.
Judge Schuman tends to stick close to a script for the beginning of his questions and then delves deeper if he sees anything that isn’t in the record or that is confusing. He tends to be moderately prepared for the hearings beforehand, reviewing the evidence somewhat. However, he’s cagey and tries to confuse reps with whether he’ll grant or not. Hearings tend towards an hour long. Nice in person to most reps, but he’ll push claimants ******* certain issues, such as lack of exercise, post-onset work activity, age, and even how they pay the bills. He is very understanding to inability to afford treatment. Apparently he was kicked out of the Denver office and does most hearings in Casper, WY. All in all, a middling type of judge.
