SAD CASE THIS JUDGE HAS A SEVERE ALCOHOL / DRUG PROBLEM. FELL ASLEEP DURING MY HEARING, SECRETARY WOKE HER UP THEN SHE SEEMED VERY CONFUSED AS TO WHERE SHE WAS TOOK HER AROUND 1/2 HOUR BEFORE SHE COULD START AGAIN.
The Honorable Judge Mauer is thorough in her assessment of the case. She reads all reports and weighs all the facts of the case completely without bias. She is a quick study, fair, impartial, and tough. Her knowledge of hundreds of submitted documents spoke volumes about her dedicated preparation to make a determination in my case. I am thankful that she was the judge assigned to hear the appeal and honored to have come before her with an extremely complicated case.
Honorable Judge Mauer makes her decisions on the facts of the case!
She even dismissed their Psychiatric evaluation due to absolute false statements!
She is my Hero! Thank you ALJ Marilyn S Mauer!
Judge Mauer is a tough taskmaster. It is my experience that no mistakes by attorneys or representatives will be overlooked or excuses accepted. This is a good thing. She is very tough on such matters, and I am a more cautious, careful representative because of it. I have not appeared in her court in some time, but I found her case decisions spot-on.
Another thing about this incompetent judge: She asked me about my PTSD. I said, “Well, it’s fear and –” she CUT ME OFF. I told her I do better in therapy with a Christian pastor or therapist,and she twisted my words. She badgered me. She put me down. This woman has NO compassion. Again, I was told by Disability that I was get an “impartial” judge. I was even going to ask for just “supplemental” disability, but she wants me to go AGAIN to “their” psychs. just to be told “nothing’s wrong with her.” They are PAID to say nothing is wrong with me!
I have cut my arms when I get depressed She saw PICTURES of my bloody arms! I even TOLD her at the end of the hearing that I “don’t want to be like this. I WISH I could go put on my nice suits and kick butt and work, but I can’t!” She just tsked her tongue and walked away. There is something wrong with this woman!! When I was working and an attorney would get verbally abusive, I had panic attacks,and one time the ambulance and cops had to come to the deposition! She accused me of not taking my meds, which is a flat-out lie! I even talked to the doctor who’s treating me after the hearing and he said he didn’t say that. Whatever! She’s so nasty and just doesn’t give a crap!
Good luck with her! She’s an absolute witch and is by far the most unreasonable ALJ in the entire country. She will do all she can to antagonize your client and criticize everyone at the hearing, including the vocational expert and the hearing reporter. She is a nightmare to work with and ODAR would do well to get rid of her.
Unfavorable for me but made mistakes, so lots of opportunity for an appeal and a reversal.
Very efficient, kind. Granted my client a favorable OTR. However, I find the clerks in this ODAR a bit disorganized.
