I thought Mrs Helmer was a very nice and well informed judge. She treated me kindly in her courtroom as did her court reporter. To me, she is a great and fair judge to have for your disability decision.
I found Judge Helmer to be very pleasant to deal with in the courtroom. She told my lawyer, after I left the courtroom, that she found me credible, but when I got her unfavorable decision in the mail, it was totally opposite. She basically refuted everything I said, so I really don’t understand that because to me her statement to my lawyer and her decision were totally opposite. In all fairness to Judge Helmer, I did not have enough medical documentation to put my SSI disability through though I didn’t realize that at the time since this was my first time going before an administrative law judge.
Mean-spirited. Does not make it to 1 on a scale of 0 to 10.
