This ALJ blatantly disregards actual evidence in the case. I have severe joint space narrowing aka osteoarthritis in my right hip and my orthopedic surgeon prescribed a walker for me and told me that I had to use it all the time. He also prescribed a disability placard for my car. This judge said my walker is not medically necessary because he magically knows better than my orthopedic specialist. He obviously has no idea what it’s like to take care of a loved one who is dying and how that wreaks havoc on your body and mind. Not to mention having had covid three times in the past 4 years. I’m over 50 and I have a lot of things wrong with me. Some of them are severe. In the prior hearing the vocational specialist ruled out every possible job for a person of my age with my conditions. I was beyond surprised to have gotten a denial. The Appeals Counsel remanded the case to him because he didn’t keep up with current law in making his decision. Now back to the Appeals Counsel we go!

This ALJ blatantly distorts the evidence in his opinions, citing activities that were performed prior to disability in an effort to portray people as less-disabled, ignoring huge swathes of abnormal findings to point to normal findings of suspect relevancy to the case, and clearly has little to no understanding of mental disability. Go into a hearing with this ALJ prepared to appeal a ridiculous finding.
