I have found through personal interaction that Judge S oandra R DiMaggio Wallis is a consummate professional who engages claimants with an object and open mindset. It is my hope that she continue to facilitate her duties with the application of knowledge and the faculty of wisdom with which she has received from our Most High God.

Judge Sandra Dimaggio Wallis really helped my wife in receiving her fully favorable decision. She was a very understanding Judge being that my wife suffers with debilitating complex regional pain syndrome (crps) and bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome (cts). Thank you so very much Judge Sandra Dimaggio Wallis!!! You are the best!! May God bless you tremendously!

I had a hearing in front of ALJ Ettinger on 14 June 2012, my medical condition CONSTRICTIVE BRONCHIOLITS which is the condition I was disability retired after 21 years of active duty Army service, with 4 12 month combat deployments, 2 in Iraq and 2 in Afghanistan. My first deployment I was exposed to Sulfur gas over a 4 week time period. This is the cause of my CB, it was diagnosed by an open lung biopsy at Vanderbilt. During my hearing and contact with my lawyer I was not informed that CB had been added to the COMPASSIONATE ALLOWANCES list, in April 2012 as one of 52 new rare serious conditions by the Commissioner. These would take effect 11 Aug 2012. My appeal was denied several weeks later for a long list of reasons that did not pertain to CB. Surely the Judge would of known about these new conditions added to the Compassionate Allowances list, so why was I denied, CB is incurable, untreatable and progressive. This was proven by evidence provided. Is this because the judge did not know even though he is the expert, if he did know according the SSA website says it is an almost guarantee that you will be approved. So I am confused why something so important was not addressed.

Judge David Ettinger distributes justice with knowledge and compassion. Don't go in front of him unless you are truly disabled. I know this from a recent personal experience. Their needs to be more men like him.

Although Judge Ettinger probably thinks he is doing his best to apply the rules to the evidence, his disposition and behavior is insulting and rude to Claimant's representatives. A number of representatives I know refuse to practice before him. If one of their clients' cases is assigned to this judge, the representative withdraws. Life is too short to take abuse from this ALJ.

Worst Judge ever, not only did he make a comment saying he is trying to believe me but the negative glares I didnt care for either. Then the lies, oh yes, so you write on my denial that you advised me of no attorney present and that I wanted to represent myself, LIES, I had an attorney there who was a complete joke didnt know anything about my case asking me questions about an abscess in my ear when it was in my intestines then quit after the hearing. I had an attorney there though yet in judges words I didnt have one then and you took the vocational expert word for word on her testimony never writing your own words as to why you denied me. I had a picc line had numerous surgeries with crohns and PTSD and seizures. You denied me in 2015 then I almost died due to my crohns then I get disability because I sent paperwork myself to SSI and not my lawyer Jeff Levine who did nothing, then all of a sudden I have a court case nobody knows what's going on, I get 3 phone calls from SSI admins asking me questions why they have my paperwork etc. Backwards system and none of you people care about us who are really sick. I almost died several times through 2016 2017 but your denial in 2015 could have changed that outcome...at 1 point I stood up and almost walked out during the trial because judge was rude called me a liar without saying the word then my lawyer didnt know anything about my case had his secretary call me on my way there to make sure I was coming then I get there my lawyer wants me to drop my case then vocational expert does not know my disabilities or the fact i have 0 immune system but states many jobs from what data she collected that info from i have no idea as the jobs she stated are not even open or are they even in my area or surrounding areas....I check online for jobs is how i know then for judge to say I want to believe you like I'm lying, I have seizures PTSD crohns pnes, you think I can remember exact details I try to repeat as honestly as possible. Worst trial I ever was apart of, made me feel pretty ****** knowing these people are lazy at their jobs do not care how sick you are or all the procedures surgeries hospitalizations yet they sit there looking at you like your trash. Well buddy I'm not trash and your vocational expert gets her data from nowhere and my lawyer Jeff Levine didnt even know a **** thing about my case!!! How is that a fair trial? Or the fact you wrote on my denial I represented myself and you advised me which was lies and bullshit! If I knew who to contact to investigate my case I would but then again you all work together so it wouldn't matter huh. If you get this guy better be prepared to lose because this was a joke....Pretty sad disabled folks has to go through their illnesses which are lifelong and come to an unfair biased trial like mine. I hope karma finds you all and 1 day you will see what it's like to live in my shoes for 1 day.

There is a good chance that Judge Feldmeier and I served in the same platoon on Sand Hill,Ft. Benning1963-65. We were with b co. 1bn. 23bgde-2nd infantry division. Harvey was a high character guy and very conscientious.Harvey was an extremely 'straight arrow",it was not surprising to discover that he become a judge(if the same fellow).I'm not sure Harvey would remember me-it would be great if somebody could tell Harvey I dropped a line, and please let me know if it is the same Harvey Feldmeier. this judge is one of the worst. Most of his decisions are either dismissed or denied. In fact, he was taken off the bench for a while because his stats were in question. However, this dinosaur was brought back because the federal government is backed up and short staffed. During my hearing, he was very patronizing and sarcastic. In my "unfavorable decision" there was no specific reason for my denial. Just a lot of embellishment. Between this alj's bad reputation and my strong medical evidence, I might be able to get his decision remanded by the Appeals Council.

Abandon all hope all ye who enter Grossman's court room. He derails hearings, disregards medical information from both private and SSDI medical experts (he completely disregarded any medical information showing I'm visually impaired), and I believe he does this with intent to hurt people because he smiles through it all saying he's trying to determine if he's being lied to. Clearly he thinks most who come before him are lying and trying to game a system which is against us to begin with. He approves less than 30% and dismisses or denies between 70% and 75% of the cases that come before him.

Judge Hornblass is; by his actions unfit to sit in judgement of a living soul. After considering his past record on the supreme court, this should have been clear. He is not a fair human being and can not possibly be a fair judge of character. He is playing the numbers game while sitting hearing cases at the Social Security Office in Manhattan. He has had decisions overturned on the same matters more then three times. This represents arrogance and deregard for a civilized legal systems.

If there is evidence in the file supporting the claim, he does a good job. If the evidence isn't very clear, he will likely deny the case.

I have appeared before this judge several times representing clients. He is fair, he is prepared, and he understands the law regarding disability claims. If you don't have good medical evidence (as noted by the other commenter on this page), what are you doing at a hearing? SSA can reverse any favorable decision that isn't based on medical records. Why would Judge Labrum waste time approving your claim based on your own personal account, without supporting medical evidence, when it's only going to be reversed when SSA appeals?

Completely disregards the concept that the hearing is the claimant's opportunity for a fair and impartial hearing. Selects certain non-favorable evidence to base his decision on and disregards the remaining record. Attempts to embarrass reps and claimants. Should be reported to chief ALJ.

The social security and job compensation Judge's don't treat Black people fair. After waiting for two years to be seen, I was told that if I didn't sign a piece of paper saying I'm waiving my SSD benefits, if not I'll have to wait for another court date. He basically threatened me, knowing that I person who have a waited over two years and now if I say I don't want it, I can received my award soon. But when my white friends applied, they got SSI and SSD, if you look my race, how each person was awarded, YOU WILL FIND DISCREPANCY AND UNFAIRNESS!

No where near fair. She seemed as if she had a decision in mind as soon as I walked into the room. But to her surprise the medical expert, who was very professional and knew exactly what I was feeling, agreed that I fit a medical listing. She had no choice but to approve me because of it.

Im just curious if anyone can post how long they waited for there decisions from the judges in this office? I mean how long did you have to wait from time of hearing to letter either approval or denial in the mail and please post if you were approved and how long and if you were denied how long? In rough time frames as to keep yourself anonymous?

This "judge" completely dropped the ball in my decision. Not a fair person shouldn't be a administrative law judge.

You were a very patient with my son that has adhd and other issues. We appeared to you from Jamestown New York court room via satellite in 2009. You denied the fee of the legal aid because basically you relax if they were taking advantage of low incom people . Well my son was reviewed and a few months later approved again in 2015. I can't find anyone to help me. Now 6 years later not from this case but from the decision made in 2009 social security is giving my sons back pay from the new case to them. Can you please direct me in th way I should go

He had already decided the case before speaking with me or my lawyer. His court reporter warned us before going into court that the judge doesn't like long hearings. The judge reminded us of that later during the hearing. He used my showing up to medical appointments against me as a sign I can keep a schedule. He was hostile when asking questions. The trail couldn't have lasted longer than 10-15 mins with administrative issues involved. I waited 2 years for this?!

Judge April M. Wexler is a Judge who is definitely not aware of the fact that many people who are applying for disability are actual people who have serious pre existing and continued long term medical issues and medical problems. I believe she looks at the actual person instead of the combined medical evidence, which includes narratives MRI's, and x-rays provided by the Medical Doctors. Furthermore I believe that Judge Wexler is biased with many of her rulings and decisions. In my case her words to me directly were " If you can drive then you are not DISABLE period regardless of your medical conditions"

I sincerely feel bad for the other reviewer and hope that he/she has been approved or better yet, healed, I had a different experience. I am a 38 year old male with MRI's that show bad arthritis in multiple places, tile table was positive for severe orthostatic hypotension. BUT, the rest of my illness is an "invisible illness". I did not exaggerate anything, if anything I under-played my illness (stupid pride). Judge Wexler listened to everything I had to say and appeared attentive to my complex issues. I'm not yet sure if she ruled fully or partially favorable, I just received notice from my local SSA, not yet from ODAR. No matter what her decision, I believe she ruled fairly in my case at least. Now, I need to work on getting more tests and trying to find treatment that works so I can get OFF disability! I take off a star on the assumption that the previous commenter was indeed denied based SOLELY on ability to drive.

I'm a 42 which had me worried to begin with. I was quit pleased with Judge Wexler. She listen to what I had to say and treated me fairly. That's all that I ask. I believe she will make a fair ruling based on all the evidence.
