Judge Ellis, is a very fare person she knows the law & she knows it well. If you truly are disabled she will know she evaluate every aspect of the case. But for those who are not disabled tryna get a free ride. SHE is going to KNOW, and u will get denied
Fair she is not! She was hostile and largely verbally abusive, and openly stated at my video hearing she "didn't believe 37 year old could be disabled for life". (Discrimination 1) In my denial letter, she referenced my single parent status multiple times as a basis for denial. (Discrimination 2). Also in my denial letter, she threw out all of my primary care physician's diagnoses, even though i've seen him for 13 years. Ssa policy states the long term primary care opinions are to carry "controlling weight" in all decisions. (Evidence of bias 1) By throwing out his medical evidence, she was free to cherry pick the remaining evidence supplied by doctors who have never examined me in order to create her unfavorable decision, and threw out any part of their opinions that remotely supported my disability. (Evidence of bias 2) FYI SSA policy on non examining doctors opinions is that their opinions carry the least weight in the decision process. I'm filing a discrimination and bias grievance against her with both the Appeals Council as well as the Program Discrimination Complaint Adjudication Office. I strongly suggest anyone else who has been unfairly and prejudicely denied file with them as well. The only way to stop this type of treatment is to speak out. I am, and I hope you do as well.
Very unfortunate that someone could be so heartless and cold. It's good to ask questions to get to the truth, but this judge was verbally abusive with insults and condemnation. It's humbling enough to even have to apply for disability in the first place- it wasn't necessary for her to treat my spouse and I as though we were the scum of the Earth. Even with physical limitations that are quite visible, Judge Ellis makes a suicidal person even more suicidal. I pray that God will warm her heart because it is so very cold with the ice that flows through her veins. I'm disheartened by this process and how unjust it has been for families that legitimately need it.
Very cold and heartless! Does not have a clue about being disabled or chronic illnesses. Hope and pray that God will someday show her how wrong she has been.
I guess the person with the comment praising her must have been one of the few lucky ones to get approved. She was very rude to me and made me feel like i was a pathetic know body. I left there feeling like i wished i was dead because it was obvious to me she was going to deny me. She didn't just ask questions but repeatedly asked the same question over and over again and when i guess i didn't answer it the way she wanted me too she got very hostile towards me. I hope someone goes and reviews those court tapes and see how awful she was. She sent me to a ce afterwards for follow up evidence and what a rigged joke that was. The dr. only seen me for about 5 minutes but yet he knew everything about me in those 5 minutes to help her deny me. It is very sickening for me now with no more work credits to apply again and doubt I'll ever get a job that I will be able to do or keep because of my problems. Went through hell for 3 years waiting and having hope to get approved and it was all taking away by this one person who doesn't know me at all but just decided my case in a brief horrific encounter with me. I think this judge gets off on the power trip but one day she will be the one who is judged! My life is hanging by a thread my marriage has suffered greatly financially with no end in site. I have no health insurance, no job, no money and very depressed. I didn't even bother with an appeal because whats the use against a cruel, corrupted and fixed system. Hope she sleeps good at night. All this judge did is look for 1 small thing to deny me and overlook the reasons why you can't work. 1 reason i got denied was apparently I'm not suppose to be able to go to the grocery shopping every 2 weeks so no current disabled people don't shop, yeah right. I think it is amazing how close the above statistics are so close for denials and this judge gets the grand prize for denials. Also being denied and dismissed sounds the same to me. If you get this judge be very very prepared and even if you are she will make you feel like your not and for me having trouble speaking where I'm front and center and anxiety in these situations just done me in and know body cares and just looks the other way.
As I read these comments the night before my brother’s hearing, I was obviously nervous and sad . However, I was quickly at ease when she called me in to testify. She was nothing these reviews described. We had already had a hearing a few years ago. She really understood what was going on with my brother. I was awaiting the worst when in fact this intelligent human saw my brother for who he was and she did not act cruel one time. To say I appreciate her, is an understatement. Although we haven’t received the decision letter, I respect her for finally , after a lifetime of heartache of bad trauma my brother has endured, that she seen through it . She might have a low approval rate but in my eyes, I’m glad she doesn’t “give it away”. I see so many people and know a few personally that are receiving this SSA benefit who have no business receiving it . My disabled brother worked even when he shouldn’t have. He tried being a man and doing everything to maintain a job until he was told not to . This judge has a radar .. and she should. Much respect for Judge Ellis. And finally after all these years, I feel like my brother may finally get the benefits he deserves so very much .
What an awful person. Denied my mother’s conditions and called her own doctor “unpersuasive”. I hope he gets karma right back at her.

Witnessing a judge with an apparently crooked agenda and an attitude that she can treat disabled people as criminals, bully them, even sexually harass them, including use of intimidation, has led me to contact SSA directly and we are in the process of filing a formal complaint. I encourage others to also file their complaints. Were you also denied an advocate? Did Judge Laub seem intent on taking your hearing time to push you to reschedule (after 2 years of waiting!), in order to have legal representation that you did not want (to have to give them your money, because you only pay if you win!)--does she only award based on lawyers receiving a percentage of your money? Are you a male whom she used sexual intimidation against as a courtroom tactic? Or maybe you are female and she committed a verbal sexual assault against you? All this happened and more, which is why I am not standing for it--bullies need to be terminated from jobs that require intelligence, not intimidation. Bottom line, as many disabilities can result from assaults, including sexual, a judge who behaves in this manner, has no business working with disabled people. She belongs in a criminal court!

The recording of our hearing clearly shows Kathleen would talk over me, like a child would, not allowing me to state facts that prove my case unequivocally!!! This judge is a miserable human being. Because of this, she inflicts her anger and frustration out on claimants and attorneys. She ignores 10th Circuit precedent in evaluating evidence. She ignores Social Security regulations, particularly the "5-Day Rule." Her interpretation of the 5-Day Rule has no basis in law or fact. Claimants will not receive a fair hearing or due process with this judge.

Very polite,understanding and easy to talk to.He made it easy for me to understand the questions and paid attention to everything I said and was patient with me when it took me time to remember things.I expected to go in scared to death and was treated with respect and felt at ease.I don't know what my verdict will be,hopefully god will be on my side and either way,he was a good judge!!
When I first got into the court room I figured I would be scared by everything. I had never done no court stuff before. But Judge Mills made me feel right kindly. If you ever go in front of him you'll see- he has these dimples on his face and a twinkle in his eye. I know he is gonna approve me. I think he even winked at me. He wears this big black robe thing but you can tell it's all muscle under there. And none between his ears neither! He was sharp as a tack and nice to me even though I was more nervous than a long tail cat in a room full o rockin chairs. And I could tell- he is a REAL American. You know what I mean? God bless you Judge Mills and in peace may forever you reign.
I am writing this to all who give judges 5 stars before they hear results and also to the nature of the disability system in MO which is legitimately corrupt. I believe judges should be fair and reasonable and LISTEN to the medical reasons for a disability as well as examine Dr. records. Some judges will do this and still reject your claim. Others will be rude and talk over your comments and ignore everything you say just to deny you. This is wrong and these judges need to be removed from the bench. The press should have revealed this long ago. From my understanding, the system uses the monies for disability claims to also pay the judges and then give them a bonus if they deny claims more than approve if there is money left over. This is highly questionable and unfair. I believe the entire system needs to be setup again properly with good judges and a fair payment to them for service not from the funds of the afflicted. I hope Governor-Elect Eric Greitens can clean up and drain prejudicial and unfair swamp soon! St. Louis and MO is in dire need of a major change in our judicial system to make it fair and equitable for real hurting disabled individuals and not give out awards for skin color or any other reason.

Korin Mueller has one of the lowest case approval ratings. If you are unfortunate enough to have her appointed as your Judge, consider your hearing as only a formality. How there can be a 40% difference between Judges approval of cases is beyond me. The judge you are assigned is most important part of deciding your approval for SSD. How you dress, behave, or answer questions is secondary. The most important factor is the Judge that you are assigned. Just hope that the Judge lottery does not appoint Korin Mueller as your judge.
Recently had my hearing with her and I believe she is an overall very nice judge. Just waiting on a decision as of now but other than that she didnt seem as bad as people making her out to be. She's just doing her job.
Judge Pendola seems very compassionate and genuine. It was clear that he had thoroughly reviewed my case before the hearing. He listened carefully and asked appropriate questions. His demeanor and patience put me at ease.

I haven't received a decision yet but Judge Schwartz was very kind and considerate. He listened to everything I had to say and seemed to be very compassionate and professional.

Before even looking at my old case file to begin Correcting the CLEAR & UNMISTAKABLE "ERRORS" he claimed that he needed my VA records, which are too numerous for even a team of book worms to digest. The SSA determined disability as far back as 1991, but the ALJ Failed to Follow Established Law & on remand, refused to comply with the directive: REMOVE the mechanical grid. Instead, the previous ALJ attempted to REINFORCE the grid using a deceptive practice (MMPI) contrary to published experts who report this MMPI is "INAPPROPRIATE" for people suffering with non-exertional impairments. I am a 100% "Service-Connected" DISABLED American veteran. I haven't been gainfully employed since being honorable discharged from the military July 2, 1987, and the SSA records clearly show this. For two DECADES I have repeatedly asked for a FAIR & IMPARTIAL & OBJECTIVE Decision Review of my old case to Correct the CLEAR & UNMISTAKABLE ERRORS. He was negative and extremely rude. My attorney was surprised that he denied my case even after he appealed. I am currently waiting for the panel in West Virginia to make a decision and then it goes right back to the same judge. How does this make sense? His denial rate goes up each year!
I was a nervous wreck and hardly able to speak, I have PTSD and BPD along with many physical ailments (i.e. Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain Syndrome, Osteo-Arthritis, Colitis, Migraines). Despite the fact that I could barely speak, and was so nervous, he was extremely RUDE and as it turns out, incredibly BIASED. Even after numerous appeals, this man's negative opinions about my "credibility" still carry a lot of weight. For some of us, Disability is a life and death situation.
This judge is extremely rude and unprofessional. Because I couldn't remember the time frame when I lost a bunch of weight he said I was unreliable and not credible. He also said since I was not credible than my doctor wasn't either. I take a lot of medication and memory loss is I e of the side effects. My lawyer could not believe I was denied with all of my medical problems. Waiting now for Virginia to make a decision on my case and it has been 13 months.a
This judge is really nice and funny. I am so glad I had him as a judge. He is a good listener and explain things were I could understand.
Rude, disrespectful, and biased. He totally disregarded 12 years of v.a. mental health records. I suffer from ptsd, severe depression and anxiety just to name a few. Vocational expert stated" considering all of my disabilities, the odds of finding an employer willing to hire me would be around 15%. ". He denied my claim.
This Judge makes the ODAR judicial system look like the most corrupt system in the United States! He's arrogant, rude, and has been allowed to treat people like crap for way to long! How dare he tell my sister that because of her nursing degree it enabled her to convince doctors to write what she needed to support her disability! She's on oxygen 24/7, can barely walk, has had numerous neck and back surgeries among other ailments. This man should be removed from his position! I really do not understand how this guy continues to be allowed to up hold laws,and statues, then rule on them when clearly he's not following the code of ethics for which he took his oath on?

She was very snotty from the get go, looking as if she wanted to call me a liar and kick me out of the room. I could tell she had something against me as soon as she seen how young i was and how i looked.

All she wanted was a yes or no answer. It was like she just wanted to get out of there and go home. She was ruder than Judge Judy and purposely intimidating to a person diagnosed with anxiety disorder. That completely shut me down. I felt prejudged from the moment she began speaking to me. It is a crime that she has not been removed from this position. She has absolutely no knowledge of mental health issues.

Completely discounted all my testimony. Also decided my physician (who has been my doc for 26 years) had zero credibility and gave no weight to my never ending paperwork from my doctor. Also seems to be obsessed with obesity. My claim had nothing to do with my bmi, but this judge mentioned it over 20x in my decision. Spoke to me like a condensing child. This women has destroyed me. Good luck if you get this judge. She will treat you like a liar no matter how many doctors back your claim.
This judge is a very nice and polite, but her decisions are very bias and she twists things you say. She acts like you are a liar and the opinion of your doctors mean nothing. I know this judges approval rate isn't very good and every judge in this office is well below other odar office's. They need to understand this isn't there money, and not every doctor is a liar. Most people do not make up there symptoms, and neither do the doctors that treat them
I felt that this judge was fair and polite. I had representation that I had hired, after a year of filing appeals, and he was very fair with his questions, as well. I thought that Ms. Wilson worked well with him and was patient with me, when I had trouble putting a time on how long I could perform certain tasks. She was professional, and I felt like I was treated fairly when I left the room.

I got a bench decision yesterday. One of the nicest Judges I have ever met. Changed onset date and approved me at hearing. GOD Bless You Judge Winters for making my life better. Thank You From the Bottom of My Heart.

Unprofessional. Ate food and drank at the whole hearing. Had to repeat myself a few times due to his lack of attention. Surprise this man has a job!

Sarcastic and poorly prepared. Appears to only skim files in advance of hearings. Substitutes attitude for analysis. If he doesn't like the claimant he will not pay the case regardless of medical evidence.
This judge is hardcore She thinks shes better than everyone else She will lie on your decision letter, To make herself look good. I think its pretty damn bad that a JUDGE has to lie, No respect for a veteran ,the Lawyer or anyone else. This will be appealed again to a higher court and she will look like a fool when it comes back to her. I had my hearing on July 15, 2019. I was a bit nervous, but the Judge seemed pretty nice and I immediately felt at ease. It is pretty easy when you tell her the truth. I spoke clearly and she did listen to my answers as well as the VE whom was on a call speaker from ???? I ecpect that it went pretty well, and I thanked her for her time. Fingers are nervously crossed.
Very fair and its obvious she took her TIME to review my case and issues. There were over 250 pages of medical reports and records. I am glad she was thorough and FAIR.

She turned me down and I have many issues antisocial personality disorder,schizophrenic,adhd,learning disability,problems concentrating,she thinks since I quit drinking alcohol and getting arrested she don't take my mental health seriously I'm on olanzapine,benztrophine,remron,methylphenidate,tizanadine,propranolol,gabapentin, klonipin...I'm so sedated I don't hear my phone ringing I wake up sometimes with several missed calls,I don't hear alarms to wake me up for appointments I even fall off couch on occassion and don't wakeup right away..she thinks since I can play games on Facebook and can shower and take care of my personal hygiene I can hold a job but she fails to understand the biggest issues with me I cannot wakeup at the same time to get ready for work I wakeup when I wakeup alarms don't wake me up nor phone calls I don't hear I wakeup when I wakeup my mental health center filled out a form saying I would miss more than one day a month of work because of these issues employers wouldn't tolerate I'm off track over 20 percent of the time .that's ok karma is a bitch she will get hers and I hope she gets it good for what she did to me and many others I'm sure..
