Her heart is full of kindness.I want to sincerely thank her for giving me faith in our judicial system and for treating me fairly and respectfully. Thank you so much For helping me.

Very kind and compassionate judge. Had my review in April, still haven't gotten my decision yet though but that is due to it being stuck in the ODAR office in Birmingham. When I call the ODAR office I was told they dont have any writers at this time. What I gathered from that is that even though the Judges are making a decision they are sitting in an office piling up waiting to be written up. This kind of scares me. If you are waiting after your hearing in the Birmingham are the ODAR # is 866-613-2863

I had my hearing the first week in April, it is now 9/10/17 and still have not heard anything from ODAR. All they keep telling me is that it is in unassigned writing. Sounds like they need to hire more people to write up judges decisions.

Had a video teleconference hearing today (11/20/12) with Judge Deborah Davis. She was fair, thorough, deliberate, seemed always to be looking for a more complete understanding of the facts of the case, gave the claimant and me ample opportunity to present our case and to ask questions. I appreciated her approach.

As a rep I have had several cases with Judge Davis. He will typically call you in ahead of time, make sure you understand that he doesn't allow leading questions and doesn't want you to elicit extremely emotional testimony about suicide attempts, etc. He generally does not ask for opening statement. He begins questioning with a nice, easy pace; his questions are very clear and straightforward covering the basics about onset and impairments. He likes documentation re any income after onset (STD, LTD, WC, UE, etc). If client is 50+ and has good strong work history it's a plus. He usually has a VE and likes to do hearings that take about 30-45 min. I have found him to be very pleasant, very fair and he does a good job.

i am curious to know what the law states for a felon to receive disability. The crime was committed at the age of 18, he is now 31 with a wife and 3 daughters. He has undergone 2 major surgeries, 1 on his hip and 1 on his back. At a very young age he was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease, Childrens Hospital in LR assured us that he would outgrow it. obviously instead of improving it got increasingly worse. He grew up working in the "Family Business" of ditch digging with picks and shovels as his dad operated the machine. As im sure you know that is a completley physical and difficult job. He is diagnosed with degenerative disc disease, scoliosis and an abnormal heart beat. The damage done to his back has already required steel rods and he is unable to stand straight. He has requested the help of 2 or more lawyers only to be pushed aside due to the felony on his record. there is absoloutley NO way that he can work. i am requesting information to be able to proceed with this delima. Thank you so much for your time and consideration in this matter.

Don't be fooled by this ALJ coming across as pleasant during the hearing. She doesn't appear prepared during the hearing and cherry picks the evidence to find any minor inconsistencies. Another ALJ who makes a habit of dismissing the treating source opinion even when supported by the evidence but has no problems accepting check off boxes from state agency medical consultants.

Richmond is becoming a negative place for Claimant's to obtain disability. I believe ALJ Dawson was trained by ALJ Swank. I think she is a terrible judge as well; however, not as bad as ALJ Swank but I'm sure she will take comfort in the fact that she is on her way.I would give her a zero out of ten.

I have found through personal interaction that Judge S oandra R DiMaggio Wallis is a consummate professional who engages claimants with an object and open mindset. It is my hope that she continue to facilitate her duties with the application of knowledge and the faculty of wisdom with which she has received from our Most High God.

Judge Sandra Dimaggio Wallis really helped my wife in receiving her fully favorable decision. She was a very understanding Judge being that my wife suffers with debilitating complex regional pain syndrome (crps) and bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome (cts). Thank you so very much Judge Sandra Dimaggio Wallis!!! You are the best!! May God bless you tremendously!

How does this man sleep at night....really? Has denied my disabled daughter twice already and she has overwhelming evidence proving she is disabled. Idk how all these ppl faking it to make it can get a check yet she has to struggle and cant get help? Someone needs to pray for these folks to start approving...because the economy is already bad enough without us all scrimpimg and sacrificing to get the help we need and medicine and choosing between medicine food and bills to live.smh i bet none of the judges have to evvvvver sacrifice and worry and go hungry or without meds or utilities or be homeless....we have.

Guys I understand your frustration. Been denied, however not by judge fraiser but my point is I know people that have very limited things wrong with them and yet they get approved no problem. Also I think these judges shouldnt be able to make such decisions based on medical evidence when they have no clue what some of it means. they are not doctors and have never worked in the medical field. So how can they determine whats severe or not? Or as my denial stated you have 3 severe impairments but not severe enough. Oh the world we live in

Based on our experience this ALJ used to be very friendly, easy going and had a much higher award rate. In the last couple of years he's become much tougher and has a very conservative award rate. He tends to like to work fast, asks rapid fire, pointed questions to claimant. Usually asks one hypo based on DDS and one assuming inability to do full time work. Does not usually ask for opening or closing and does most of questioning himself.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU JUDGE FRAISER, My file has been hanging in the balance since 2012, was sent to Jackson Ms.from Ga.. Between Belinda Hemphill, Judge Fraiser and Sonya Frisby I had an appt. schld within 2 weeks for a hearing. I have to use the library computor due to being homeless and a friends phone. I have prayed a Judge would see my file and approve based upon the facts, but at least I got an appt date because Judge Fraiser saw it as dire..Thank you Sir and those ladies who help make this possible...God Bless you all and Jackson Ms ODAR for doing their job above the national avg. Thank you so much

Judge Fraiser is not a very nice person. I was struck by a car while walking. I suffered severe injuries to my body, head, spine, leg and arm/shoulder. Judge Fraiser suggested I could work as a parking lot attendent! When I tried to remind him that we had discussed the PTSD I have, and real fear I still have of moving cars around me, he told me to SHUSH! I was denied! I have written a complaint and refiled. A PARKING GARAGE? Is that some kind of sick joke?

Such a calm and relaxed court room.Judge was very respectful and polite. He was to the point with great questions and very attentive to my answers. Allowed plenty of time for me to respond. He made his ruling from the bench and I was out of there. Thank you Judge Fraiser for such an experience in life.

Seems my review wasn't put on here. My husband was told by a doctor he is not able to work and my husband has several chronic problems he has COPD with a 50% lung compasity which he has to do breathing treatments throughout the day and he does the brio puffer everyday. He also has Ademia he has had 2 open heart surgeries and he was in an accident that left him crippled broke both legs he has a pin in his right hip that is the size of a railroad spike also he has a rod from his hip to his right knee with screws holding his knee together he also has a plate in his left ankle with screws holding it in and he has a screw in the talos of his left foot. His left foot swells constantly which causes him to have to prop it up several times a day and ice it just to be able to walk and the swelling never goes all the way down he walks with a Cain because he has no balance anymore he desperately needs surgery on his left foot again but with him but having any kind of insurance he is forced to live with it and he also has high blood pressure and high cholesterol and severe depression my husband is NOT able to work he has not been able to in years the Judges decision should be looked at again and my husbands conditions and medical records should be takin into consideration again. If he reads this I Pray he finds in his heart to reconsider we are sending an appeal and we are at a loss as what to do if he doesn't help I can see my husband dying because we just could not afford to get medical help. I am the only one with an income and I am 100% disabled this has been so hard on me and him both I can see how depressed he has become again and it has me worried because he is not able to get the proper medical help and he is NOT able to work. Please please please Judge Frazier if you read this I Pray you will reconsider my husbands case he has had a long hard road and he has come a long way but you ultimately hold his life in your hands all of his back pay and his medical help please reconsider my husbands decision we really need help I'm desperately begging you to hear us out one more time. We will be sending an appeal please if you will we Pray you will look at how his life is in the ballots with your decision in more way than one. Thank you sincerely Stephanie Herrin

This judge was very unfair .Didn't let the lawyer talk, only gave weight to ssa doctors. She has a real problem listening to people and she thinks that her way of thinking is the only one that matters. She should not be a judge for anything ,especially someone's livelihood .

Hi I'm mr Boudreaux. I had to go infront off judge Marry Guttuso 7/27/16. For a 18 wheeler accident me and my Grand Mother was in volved in. I was pleased how she asked about my grandmother and how was she doing. She was very compassionate and told me to stand up if needed because she understood my pain i am going thru. Only thing that was weirded was the VE said I was hypothetically able to work a dish washing job or office work. Which I can not perform do to sleepy medications, and weak back muscles I learned something new today about compassion and understanding others do have .

I had my hearing today with Judge Lisa Johnson. She was tough and very straight to the point! Asked me about my medical conditions and what prevents me from working and then asked the VE if there were any jobs I could do and he said no! Judge Lisa Johnson ruled on the record that I was approved! My advice is to be honest and listen very carefully to her questions she speaks fast, but if you pay attention you will do fine! It's been 2 yrs fighting for this and it was a relief to get a decision the same day on the record! I was a Legal Assistant so this being a desk job already I couldn't stand up at any jobs! Prayer works!

I am a citizen of these united states I feel that judge lisa Johnson went against the profesionals on my case .they said I was unable to perform any work she did not take there advise. I feel I was discrimated against .one of her questions was what type of home I lived in I answered mobile home.she just shook her head. This judge was wrong in my case and I don't know what to do to take care of my family.I worked from the time I was 14 and now I am 45 with diabetes ,depression ,degenerative disc disease in my back along with arthritis through out my body. I have tried to find work and been turned down or unable to do the work due to my condition. In my opinion this judge did not do her job .God bless her she knows she was wrong.

I have a case coming up with her soon. I worked for 30 years making really good money. Now I'm unemployed and broke and can't get the medical help I need because I can't afford insurance. I would rather being doing what I did and I didn't stop because I'm lazy. I pray that God will show her that my life lays in her hands and guide's the honorable judge to see the reality of her decision is crucial to my well-being.

Well yesterday I had my hearing and meet Judge Johnson. She is a very sharp person and everything didn't go in my favor but I thought she was very fair compared to my last judge. Judge Johnson is a very pretty woman and I truly believe she will give me a favorable decision as long as she sees that I worked my whole life and made good money. I only stopped because I could no longer go on. Plasm 23. Emmett

I appeared almost 90 days in front of Judge Johnson. She was quite perturbed by my attorney and the fact the video system wasn't working certainly didn't help matters. But we couldn't reschedule. My health is declining and I can't afford to go to the doctor..not to mention we are about to lose everything due to my illness. Why is it taking so long to hear to judges decision?

Johnson in July she was very to the point and fair nothing but great things to say about her.she is a very pretty Judge too I hope anyone in the future gets this Judge I waited a very very long time for my disability to be approved and Praise GOD, I am free of burdens and can finally get the help I need.

From the beginning the judge seemed to be against me because of my age I guess. She denied me and I have medical proof that I'm disabled and I do believe that she is against a young person being on disability.

Very rude and disrespectful when asking questions. I was already upset and have severe mental anxiety and she only made it worse. Cancel and ask for another judge!

I had my disability hearing with judge Lisa Johnson and she approved my application . She is a very knowledgeable and fair judge . Judge Johnson get straight to the point and ask you the questions required by law to determine if your case is approved or denied . She is serious about her job . First and foremost I want thanks God for my favorable outcome ; also thanks to judge Lisa Johnson for approving my disability .

I have not got my decision yet, it has been 18 weeks since my hearing. I had actually tried to work but Judge Kliner seemed to understand my reasons for trying to work. He had read my case file before meeting me face to face. He was very sweet and made me feel at ease. I struggle everyday with my spine issues and he seem to understand that. It has been a very hard 5 years. This was my second hearing. I was denied by another Judge the first time due to a miscommunication between one of my doctors and my paperwork. I am hopeful this go around and I hope to get a favorable decision, my family had sacrificed and suffered due to my health issues and I am ready to be able to provide for my girls.

24 weeks post SSD hearing and I am still waiting. I realize it is not judge Kliner's fault, decision writing at the social security offices have had my case since 4 weeks post hearing. It has almost been 6 months and to say I am stressed is a understatement. I felt very confident when I left the hearing but now I am not confident at all. I feel like I am waiting for bad news. If you are reading this and waiting for an answer, know that 90 days for an answer is not the norm anymore. It can take up to 6 months for an answer post hearing. It has been so long since my hearing that my memory of Judge Kliner is dimming. He was very friendly and very easy to talk to. I hope I get a favorable answer soon.

I got a unfavorable decision. I can't even think right now. All I can think is I am going to work somehow in pain everyday to try support my daughter whom for the last 5 years has had to do without because her Mother gets fired for not being able to perform or calling in because she couldn't walk due to pain and having too many absences. I have been evicted, lost my car, my credit ruined and my marriage ruined and now I can't even get disability. I am a loser with a teenage daughter that has nothing. I don't know what you have to prove to get a favorable decision. I waited 6 1/2 months to hear bad news. Way to go US government! All hail the USA! Land of the free and home of the brave. Where you can come in from any country and not pay taxes and get free services but if you are born here and work all your life and needs some help, you have to spend months and months waiting on a hearing to see a judge and then wait months and months to get a decision that is likely unfavorable. Spineless were your words Judge Kliner, not mine. You said "you have no spine left" I appreciate your time but had hoped for a different decision.

It appears that this is one tough judge. I just had my case reviewed by Mr.Lang; I'm worried that because I'm trying to go back to school so that someday I don't have to depend on disability, this will ruin my case. If I lose my case, I don't stand a chance of finishing school because of our financial situation. Please, if anyone has a story to share about their case, I would love to hear about it.

MR JERRY LANG IS A JERK. NO ONE LIKES HIM AND HE DENIES MORE THAN 70% OF THE CASES HE HEARS. BACK IN 2006 WHEN I HAD MY FIRST CASE HEARD IN HIS LITTLE COURTROOM, HE AWARDED ME WITH A CLOSED PERIOD SETTLEMENT. HE STATED THAT AFTER MY 1ST BACK SURGERY THAT I COULD RETURN TO WORK, UNFORTUNENTLY THE PROBLEM IS, MY MEDICAL ISSUES CONTINUED TO DECLINE AND WHEN I SAW HIM AGAIN IN 2009, I NEEDED A 2ND BACK SURGERY AND I HAD ADDITIONAL MEDICAL ISSUES IN ADDITION TO WHAT I ALREADY WAS DEALING WITH. NOT ONLY DID HE DENY ME AN AWARD FOR MY 2ND HEARING VIA TELECONFERENCE BUT HE DID SO WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF HAVING MORE MEDICAL ISSUES AND ACCEPTED THE FACT THAT I WAS DISABLED FOR A PERIOD OF 3 YEARS BECAUSE HE GAVE ME A CLOSED PERIOD AWARD. SO YOU TELL ME, 1ST TIME CLOSED AWARD, 2ND TIME THINGS ARE WORSE AND I AM DENIED. THAT MAKES NO SESNE. JUST LAST WEEK, 02/19/2013, I WENT BACK TO DYERSBURG TO SEE A DIFFERENT ALJ BUT THAT MAN CALLED IN SICK AND GUESS WHO I WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE? MR JERRY LANG AKA: JERK! SO IVE HAD 2 BACK SURGERIES NOT TO MENTION MENTAL ISSUES AND A BLOOD CLOT WHEREAS I HAVE LIFE LONG DEBILITATING NEGATIVE ISSUES AS A RESULT. WHEN I FOUND OUT WHO WAS GOIN TO HEAR MY CASE, I JUST DISMISSED IT. IT WOULD BE A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME BECAUSE WE ALREADY KNKOW HOW THE MAN OPERATES. IM GOING TO MOVE TO ANOTHER STATE AND IF NOT, THEN ANOTHER COUNTY FAR FROM ALJ JERRY LANG. I HOPE THIS MAN SUFFERS SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE FROM CHRONIC PAIN, THEN AND ONLY THEN HE WILL UNDERSTAND. IT WOULD BE MUCH BETTER IF HE JUST COMMITED SUICIDE AND SAVED THE TAX PAYERS MONEY AND SAVERD ALL THE MANY PPL THAT NEED DISABILITY TO BEABLE TO HAVE SOME FORM OF QUALITY OF LIFE. It is a very shallow statement to state that a person who can go to school is not disabled. There are many people that are born with disabilities or become disabled in life, yet they are offered extra help to go to school and grants are offered to disabled people to go to secondary school. I have rheumatoid arthritis, a lung condition related to the R.A., and a heart condition, and I receive disability because I am no longer able to perform the type of work I did before my diagnosis. I am now in college and seeking a degree in psychology so that I can one day return to work and no longer have to depend on disability. Yes, I do have to take small class loads and I have to inform my instructors of my condition, and at times get extended time some of my work, but I am sure trying. Just because a person becomes disabled does not mean they should have to sit and stare at walls and depend on $700 a month income; they have every right to improve their education, thus giving them a chance to improve their choices for work opportunity and not have to live the rest of their life drawing a disability check. The Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) passed in 1975 and the Americans with Disabilities Act both offer help in education for those who are disabled; yes, the government does recognize that a person can be disabled, yet go to school.

Out of line, abuses power, demeaning, ignores attorneys and reams of legitimate records, takes away hope, why would an applicant who has worked for 30+ years seek to live on $700/mo? To wait 2 years for a hearing only to be told one can sort limes on a processing line part time? Anyone have such a job for 20 minute shifts? No wonder there is such a high suicide rate for those that become disabled after long careers.

This judge is a true jerk. I was denied because in my medical records he saw on one of office visit notes where I had discussed with my rheumatologist that I had gone a cruise with my family and how bad I felt on the trip and how bad I hurt and all I wanted to do was sleep and the doctor had increased my med at that visit. He also denied me because I was told to go to the gym and stretch and move by my doctor. What am I suppose to do just sit in a recliner all day or stay in bed????? If I had been denied based on the reports from several doctors that would be one thing but he denied me based in his opinion!!!!!

Based on his opinion he denied me because of my age, stating I'm 44 and can bounce back. My doctors all signed off for my disability and I still was denied, maybe judge Lang should get off the bench and retire cause he's hurting people more so than helping them. In my deniel letter it also stated I have a email address so I'm able to communicate, I had a email address long before I got sick so that shouldn't make a difference at all!!

The WORST judge I have ever had the experience of meeting. I have an eye missing, fibromyalgia that was confirmed by a rheumatologist, neurologist, 2 pain clinic specialists and my PCP. I had my psychotherapist write a detailed evaluation of my anxiety and depression problems, and I have 2 herniated discs and chronic insomnia. The judge denied me in Jan. of 2012. We appealed it and two judges remanded the case back to the same judge for not giving enough weight to a couple of doctors. I had my second hearing on Jun. 4th, 2013 and 24 days later, the same judge denied me again because I did not have one or more illnesses that were termed disabled. My PCP even wrote a letter that stated that I was in no shape both physically and mentally to assume a 40 hour/wk job and there were no questions asked of the vocational expert that was present. I believe the judge did not like the other Appeals judges disagreeing of his handling of my first hearing and thus denied my second appeal. I rate this judge along with Merrill and Levin. I will appeal this again to the Appeals Council and I hope this time they will approve it instead of making me proceed to the Federal Court. I've waited 3 and a half years for this whole process and it has gotten me nowhere.

The WORST judge I have ever had the experience of meeting. I have an eye missing, fibromyalgia that was confirmed by a rheumatologist, neurologist, 2 pain clinic specialists and my PCP. I just went through my appeals process at the ODAR office and was denied. I have two auto immune diseases and the judge has denied me. I find it very sad to think the judge denies people who actually need it, yet gives people disability that does not deserve it. I worked for my money and now that I need it I can't have. Gee, do I say thank you Judge Paul for denying me and now I am going to lose everything. Who are you to say a person can work 8 hrs a day or anything else for that matter. You don't live with them. You get a healthy paycheck every week so what do you care what anyone else goes through. Thanks for nothing.

What a hoot! Seems to have his mind made up by the time we sit down. Holds 6 minute hearings. Gives great weight to RFCs. Somewhat of a "Nero" approach, either thumbs up or thumbs down, without excessive narrative. Does not like substance use or middle aged women with mental health issues.

I was denied even though I have more than 4,000 pages of medical records, dozens of doctors supporting my claim and submitting written statements, and the court-appointed vocational expert testified that there was not a job I was suitable to do. Mcgrath ruled against this suggestion and said I could do a job that did not require standing, sitting, working with my hands, concentration, memory, interaction with people, and would allow me to lie down for extended periods of time each hour. I also require a caretaker (who is writing this message as I am unable to do so) on a fulltime basis to feed, cloth, bathe, drive, make appointments and manage my dr. schedule, clean, cook, and take care of basically all of my needs/activities of daily living. He made the decision in less than 5 minutes and asked me less than 10 quick questions. His decision was overturned on appeal and has been sent back to be heard in court for a second time. I first applied for disability in 1999 and have spent the last 6 years appealing his ruling. I am going back to court in the next 6 months or so and will let you know who I get and the judgement.

Judge Frederick McGrath claimed he could not read the RFC filled out by my doctor because "the doctor's handwriting was not completely legible and his signature was indistinguishable." There were approximately 30 cases he ruled on before he saw me the day of my hearing and it seemed like he had already made up his mind on each case before the people even entered the courtroom. He wrote about my mental health in his official ruling even though my claim was entirely a physical case with all of my mental health issues (depression because I am unable to work) being a direct result of my physical disability.

Yes he has mind made up before the hearing. He schedules way too many hearings on one given day and they are conducted to quick. Rarely uses a VE. The Jacksonville ODAR is filled with fairly negative ALJs.

Our office has had numerous hearings with Judge McGrath. He has a reputation for scheduling several hearings at the same time and taking them on a first come/first served basis; will start early if you get there early; does NOT like submission of medical records on the day of the hearing. Generally does not ask for opening; lets rep do most of questioning and just cuts in when he has a question. I think he often has a good idea of how he feels about a case and uses the hearing to see if it changes his mind. His award rate is not out of line, so he's not denying everything that comes through the room. (Claimants need to understand it isn't the number of pages of records you have, but how well the opinions are supported by clinical evidence, diagnositic testing and your own credibility).

my first claim was DENIED by this alj, even though he stated in his decision that i did in fact have two severe impairments.. of course the AC kept his ruling intact and my atty filed in federal court. well here it is 6 1/2 yrs from initial filing and 3 yrs after it was denied at appeals council and taken to fdc, my claim was remanded due to ERROR by the alj for NOT giving my treating doctors RFC any weight and going by what the ssa med examiner (which i never saw to begin with)said at some point before my initial denial (which only took a few months to get)..my hearing was NOT that quick, and also we waited for at least 15-20 minutes before hearing started as the VE was LATE. mind you judge started without the VE, and he finally arrived about 10 minutes before my hearing was over..he heard me answer the last 2 question is all. yet the judge took his opinion that there were thousands of jobs in the national economy within our region that i could do?? i am like the rest of you, i believe he has his mind made up before you go in the door...well, he messed up on this one and now i get a new hearing and hopefully with another judge

This Judge knows his job. He gets straight to point and does not waste anytime or taxpayers money. He is well prepared. He has an idea of what his decision will be before the hearing. He shows concern about the claimant and takes everything into consideration. He does his job well without hesitation. He can see right through a person if they are full of BS. Great service for the people!

As an attorney, I practice before several Social Security hearings offices and numerous judges throughout the Southeast. My experience with Judge McGrath has been consistently positive, and I have found him to be fair-minded and efficient in his handling of cases where I have appeared before him. While he takes a streamlined, no-nonsense approach to hearings, he appears to do this out of a sense of duty to move his cases efficiently and to minimize delay in resolving claims where claimants have already been required to wait months (or even years) without income leading up to finally getting their day in court.

My hearing was brief & to the point...The past 21 months of my life has been the most challenging time in my life...happy to know it will get better soon...very thankful I was approved.

ALJ McGrath went above and beyond recently, and by his efforts, allowed my client her hearing when there had been a serious miscommunication regarding my client's file (it had been sent to another hearing office by mistake, and the hearing cancelled - all without notice to myself or my client). Another ALJ might have shrugged their shoulders and said nothing could be done, so sorry; ALJ McGrath instead tracked the file down, had it sent back to North, and worked the hearing into his already scheduled docket. While we are still awaiting results, we are grateful to have been able to conduct the hearing as we had planned, especially since my client traveled from TN to Athens for the hearing. Thank you Judge McGrath!

My wife just had her hearing with Judge McGrath, regardless of the outcome I thought he was very understanding and compassionate toward my wife, took his time in letting her answer questions and even helped her word the correct response when she fumbled,( She was very nervous) Impressed with him stopping the proceeding because of a volume problem and having the people come in and repair so there was no mis-communication. Straight to the point and procedural Judge.

All I can say about Judge John T Molleur is he is fair. I was told by my own attorney he was mean and all that but I didn't feel any hostility from him at all, he let me explain my situation no matter how long I took. I had my hearing on 8 Sept 2016 and was told my case was approved on 10 Nov 2016. Now just waiting on my letter and back pay. The thing he wanted was me to change my onset date which I totally approved of, so I have nothing negative to say about him, he asked what he's required to ask but obviously he agreed with me. The Vocational expert did say there was no job for me to do as well, I guess that helped but I haven't gotten my package yet.

Judge Molleur denied my case. I had lumber fusion of the l4,l5, S1 with all of my attending physicians writing that I am unable to work. Even the Dr that sits in the hearing stated on record that hypothetically he cannot do any work of any type. I was in severe pain and and was unable to sit while the hearing was going on. However the Judge still denied me. How unfair the people that need it can't get it.

The Honorable Judge Katie H. Pierce is a very fair and impartial judge. Listens very carefully with extreme patience.

I have rheumatoid arthritis and she has denied me twice. I am hoping to get to see a new judge because she just doesn't care about people. She has lied in her denial letter. She says things like I continue to travel to the islands every year because I have darker skin. I came into court with a heavy purse and she doesn't believe my doctors! I don't understand why she is allowed to do this. I haven't traveled to ANY islands and the bag I had with me in court had almost nothing in it. It contained slippers, wallet and some papers. My surgeon, pain management doctor, RA doctor and primary care physician are not liars! And she can make statements like saying she doesn't believe them without any evidence to show why should be thrown out and she should be reprimanded for making such statements! There are so many people who get disability benefits who are not disabled and many disabled people who get denied. Something is very wrong going on. She is proud of her very low approval rating. She just wants to save the system money and couldn't care less about the people who need it. I have worked since I was 15years old and put alot of money into S.S. and can't get the help I need now that I am unable to work again. I have to give a 1 star rating because 0 is not an option. Believe me, I would give 0 if I could. Whether she reads these comments or not is unimportant because I don't think she cares what people say or think or need anyway.

She does listen to Claimants. She is respectful, but very straight forward. Stickler about MR's and 5 day rule. Asks for opening and allows for closing.

Hello, over the course of 6 years or so, my ex-wife was denied ssdi by James F Prothro. her attorney wasnt much help at all. she has extensive medical records supporting many conditions that anyone it ther right mind would assume that approval for benefits would be in line, and of course her right to the entitlment of such as she worked for many years and paid in to social security. However, he denied her appeals more than three times over the course of about 4 years. So confused and dont know how to fight this any longer, since the latest decision was also denied by the administration, of which her attorney did nothing, he even has tried all angles to not provide her with all her records. In the mean time she had a masive stroke and missed the 60 day dadline for yet another appeal....the ss office said she cannot appeal because of the missed deadline....should her attorney have been responsible to prevent that?....also the ss office said now that she had been out of work for 5 years, the entire time she continued to be denied, that she was not even eleigible to appy for ssdi.... she was aproved for ssi due to her stroke and now recieves 698.00 a month to try and live on. this seems so so so wrong and we just dont know if there is any way to pursue any other feasible ways to get her ssdi which would be more than her ssi, probably not a whloe lot but, never the less there is also principles and right and wrong....she worked hard and by surely no choice of her own has been battling many disabling conditions since year 2000 but yet the huge amounts of medical records, her attorney, and the judge who she seen 3 times on appeals denied her over a period of time that has now made her even ineligble because she has no work credits that are recent enough....but what about all the work she did do in years past and what about the system just doing her so so so wrong....can anyone "REALLY" help. shouldnt someone be held accountable for this improper injustice concerning her rights as a hard working citizen that paid her dues.... sorry to ramble but just so frustrated and so unfair. Please contact me if you have any real suggestions that would help fight this if at all possible....I can provide very extensive details on the entire situaion that began long ago if that would help. Thank you Jim The ex-husband that is taking care of her since her stroke that occoured on 3-13-2011

He is lucky I waited several months to post a comment. I have a lot of doubt this man has every watched the movie "The Patriot" or has a family member whom fought during any war. This judge is an absolute power judge and denies people their rights whom have worked. He is discriminatory, used sexual harassing language in his denial and was most inappropriate. Just because a person has a disability does not mean they are stupid. He treats people as such as well as he is a coward and does not have the gumption to confront in public his doubts and can deny an individual without proof. He knows the thin red line and knows how to cross it. I believe he is a socialist and cares only about lining his own back pocket.

Do you want to play a game of whose on first? Since my denial in May, I have been recuperating as result due to the judge's loose terminology, discriminatory and insulting language plus sexual harassing undertones with the term "exotic." Prothro has no idea about abuse and abusive language, but that is right he is from Grand Rapids. I am still seething in anger, and this judge is very lucky that my medications have been bumped up because I can be a little anti-social and have been in trouble with the law, which I fear can happen in the workplace when provoked. Yet the judges thinks people with disabilities are stupid hence the way we are treated and hence why many feel they deteriorate over time. I mean if this erupts and I harass, harm or get violent whom sues whom? But I'm sure judges already have the means to dispose of people like us. I might as well say "Hiel Hitler" when it comes to the office of disability and jurisdiction in this country. You have no criterion; it is just the judges own subjective opinion. So riddle me this--whom are you speaking to Mr. Judge Prothro and what is your degree? He doesn't deserve any rating not even one star.

as an attorney who has had a significant amount of experience with prothro, i can be fair and objective. though some aljs are more conservative than others, i have found the decisions from prothro are much more than just conservative. i believe he is one of, if not the only alj in the country who gives about twice as many part favorable decisions as favorable. many of the part favorable decision i have seen are very damaging to claimants. his fully favorable rate is about 10%. what is most alarming is the decisions are very hard to understand when looking at facts. he often gives little credit to treating doctor opinions which can result in a strong case resulting in the claimant and their doctor being called liars for the most part. my personally opinion is he gives all the part favorable decisions to push his allowance rate up to about 30% even though only about 10% get fully favorable decisions even if they have strong support from their own doctors and strong medical evidence. when considering the fact that i have presented cases to at least 100 aljs as an attorney, i would pick prothro last if given a choice. of course the draw is random. i don't believe a claimant deserves to get there benefits without solid evidence to support their claim. but i do believe everyone deserves to have a fair alj review their case. my opinion is prothro is unfair. my advice to other attorneys is to fight hard for your clients and use the appeal process when appropriate.

He is very unfair and twists your words around and I know in my file he said things I never said. I know because I went through my cd of the hearing very carefully. We went to federal court and they remanded my case back to him. My lawyer informed me that most lawyers in Grand Rapids won't even take a case that was handled by Judge Prothro but this one will because he hates this judge and thinks he should be removed from this job and he is not the only lawyer that I have talked to thst feels this way

I have had extensive physical and psychological issues since I was a toddler. My grandfather who raised me was my hero and never missed but one half day of work and I always strive to be just like him. But with my pain headaches seizures which I have had all of my life the doctors say probably even in the womb I am unable to function in the workplace. Vomiting, trying to work with my eyes closed to avoid the light and noise, I finally came to the conclusion that higher education was my only recourse then I sustained a severe head injury which stopped the possibility of that even happening. Now Judge Protho has denied my case? How am I to survive? The state of Indiana has declared me disabled for years and has since put me on disability insurance. If medical records went back more than a few years it would be easy to see that I have suffered most of my life have suffered multiple trauma to the head have thousands of tumors throughout the body, seizures, migraine headaches and much of the time can't even get out of bed for days I can't work. If for no other reason just because of the days missed but there are many more be assured. I am absolutely sick, disgusted, confused, the homeless shelters I have been don't even like dealing with my illnesses what am I to do?

All I can say is, if you get this "judge", and I use the term VERY loosely, then start preparing your appeals ASAP. He will deny your claim without good reason and the SSA has started to refuse to reconsider his opinions. Be prepared for a LONG court fight if you are unlucky enough to draw this "judge" for a hearing. Just look at the numbers on his cases, he provides a favorable ruling less than half of the time of the WORST other judge in the GR office, and they are, for the most part, worse than the state average. Why he hasn't had a peer-review that has sent him packing by now begs the question, just who evaluates the judges? Anyone? I doubt it!

It is very clear that Prothro is a terrible ALJ. In my opinion, the worst I have ever dealt with in three decades. Obviously, his decisions can be appealed. But, attorneys and claimants should keep in mind that UNFAIR TREATMENT COMPLAINTS can be forwarded to the Regional Office. This is the only recourse within the system to try to convince SSA to get rid of ALJ's who are bias. If complaints are not filed, SSA really has no notice that there is a problem and won't review his conduct. The fact is the vast majority of ALJ's do a good job and make decisions based on applying the rules. But, when one is clearly playing games to deny as many claimants benefits as possible something should be done.

. His reasons for denial are ridiculous and many parts of the denial were flat out false and misleading. We're merely a toy to this judge, he's infamous for a reason. Discuss appealing this judge's decision with your lawyer before getting into the court room. I've seen other stories of lawyers not taking up cases against this judge, it's understandable, he's incredibly unfair. He seems nice but very out of touch with this world (in a cognitive sense), he seems to have some issues with paying attention. I'm not saying this to bash him, he's an awful judge I'll just say that, but he literally seems to have concentration issues and really should retire. The really sad part is what I just said is what many others have said.

ALJ Prothro spent the beginning of his tenure as an ALJ in Grand Rapids MI. and built a reputation as the most damaging ALJ for claimants. As an attorney who has significant experience with a large quantity of ALJs over many years, it is my opinion he was the worst ALJ I have ever had to deal with ever. He is now in Mississippi. I hope things go better for claimants in Mississippi.

The worst Alj I have ever known. After reading all the bad reviews on him. I knew I had already lost my case in which I did despite all the medical evidence and doctor's report. For one thing he need to retire because he does not focus on anything you say to him. All he say is umm hmm the whole time in court but of course he make over $180,000 a year to deny people their benefits with an 11-20% approval rating which is God awful sad. His day is coming sooner than he thinks.

I just found out that Judge Prothro has denied my husband's disability 7 months after he appeared before him in court. That in itself is ridiculous, but his record of denials is even more outrageous. The attorney warned us that he would probably be denied, so it's no surprise. However, not only is my husband suffering from a shoulder and neck injury suffered while overseas, he now has cancer as well and we will have to file with the appeals court which will take even more time. I did not rate this judge because he doesn't deserve one! This will cause financial hardship for our family and possible bankruptcy. I don't know how the man sleeps at night.

This Judge was a total Azz! After 25 years of military service, being put out unfit to work any job and receiving 100% disability from VA. All my doctors and notes from clinic said I was unable to hold any job. This judge said I could bake cakes and clean houses. I would love to clean his out. I serve and protect him that long, pay in my part and he sits behind a damn screen and just looks down, never makes eye contact, never once said thank you for your service, Nothing!! It’s a shame people that don’t need help get approved and the ones like me get denied so the sorry a zz people can mooch off government. Well I served and paid my part. They can get their ass up and go to work like I did. I am sick of seeing sorry lazy people get approved and hard workers get denied. It’s ass backwards if you ask me. This judge acts like it’s his damn money I’m asking for. It’s not! It’s mine that I’ve paid in SOB!! I have about hearing coming up in grenada on 15 November and I prey to the good lord that I’m blessed after this one. You can not rat this sorry ass judge because it doesn’t go that low. His will be Hell for denying all the ones that needed help. And the government wonders why soldiers lose it and do crazy things as they say. That’s right if you fight for your country your crazy. While these judges make all the good money and laugh while we protect them. Fingers crossed on next hearing. I wish all the ones on here that had this judge like me good look on next one. Hon bless everyone who spoke against him. HE IS THE SORRIEST PIECE OF CRAP TO WALK THE EARTH. I COULD STAY ON MY SOAP BOX BUT IM GETTING ANGRY RIGHT NOW.

This is an unfair judge. He will discard medical evidence like nothing. Notes from the doctors, etc. He is also not right on his head. Disrespectful and discriminatory with Spanish speakers or not white claimants. He has dementia that is very easy to spot and yet they let him work! He ruined so many lives. Including mine. I hope one day he will pay for all the damage. If this is your judge, you will be denied for sure. Horrible person with zero empathy that should be retired since it’s not fit for his job.

I'm a rep and have had one hearing with ALJ Reams. He appears to be early 60's is one of the most pleasant gentleman I've appeared before. He takes time to explain some basics to the claimant. He asks Rep for an opening statement and listens attentively. He questions the claimant in a general way, covering past work, impairments, symptoms and functional problems. Let's rep follow up. As he explained, he usually asks a range of hypos to the VE covering limitations that both allow work and would prevent work. He allows rep to give closing argument if desired. He is very nice, very respectful to all involved and seems quite fair in his consideration of the evidence.

The allowance rate on the initial claim is 30 % and less than 5% on the Reconsideration but the allowance rate with the Judges is 44% so your best chance is with the ALJ. The key to getting approved is be prepared. You need a Rep that is interested in your case and SSA is not just a sideline. You and YOUR Rep need to Know the requirements for entitlement : the decision is based on age, education, vocational background and your DISABILITY. The judges in the Tupelo office are good judges I have always found Judge Sartor to be respectfully to me and the Claimant. She, as well as the other Judges, will try to give you the benefit of doubt but they cannot approve your disability if you do not have medical evidence to support YOUR Case- SSA will tell you that you must prove that you are disabled. No i have not won all my cases with her or the others but when the Hearing was over I knew and the Claimant knew that the decision would be fair and based on the evidence. This is the best shot at approval that you got so get a GOOD REP and be prepared.

I don't think that the judge has ever been around or understand the mentally ill. He should take some classes where the family as well as the mentally ill share some of their daily frustratations and difficulties. He only seems to see what is happening on the surface. I was very disappointed in some of her observations. He is not able to pick up on what happens behind closed doors . I think he is more concerned about his numbers instead of the person involved. Very sad

Looks for absolutely any way he can to twist your words and turn them against you rather than hearing what you or anyone else is telling him. I hope and pray to God that someday this man needs the same kind of help that the unfortunate people he's dealt with have needed and some white haired old dumb ass looks at him and makes him feel like the piece of shit he is. He was compassionate and took time with me answering questions, etc. I have been in so much pain with so many health problems and i dont know how i would have lived without my approval, which means income and insurance. Just make sure that your doctors give good legible notes because otherwise ANY judge will have a hard time determining your case.

Judge South was very nice and helpful and advised me to retain counsel before proceeding with my hearing, promising he would get me a new hearing date in a timely manner and he did so. He was suppose to reside over that case, however he had a conference on that date and Judge Anderson proceeded over my case. I was absolutely terrified, but Judge Anderson was very diligent and asked many questions, the right questions if you will, he was extremely nice and compassionate and I was given a fully favorable decision at the hearing and received it by mail in less than two weeks as he so promised. I feel both judges played a part in my favorable decision so I thank them both. Having a disability and waiting years to see a judge is terribly stressful and I am very grateful for these two judges being so compassionate.

Judge South was very knowledgeable about my case. He seems to me to be a very caring man. He allowed me to tell him my story without treating me like a defendant . Most Judges either don't know or don't care what I'd been through. Judge South Did. Thank You Judge for treating me with respect and Dignity! I have much respect for you Sir.

This Judge shows no empathy ,no heart, and often harassing about how his tax dollars being are spent on lazy ass people. I have a screen shots of such post. He has a sever case of alcoholism from childhood. I would hate to think I had to go b4 this Judge ,take a look at approval rate .He should be taken off the bench. This is the truth I will send you copies of this federal Judge David Willis and often brags about his making of 175,000and paying 30,000 in income taxes. If you would like to see these obnoxious post contact memfoa@aol.com This post has been sent "rights to a good disability Judge.

He just started verbally attack people on a fb page, from back in Memphis where he use to work. Calling people stupid, communist, and that he was going to continue blowing up the lady's post. He sent several ugly pm's to people. This man was an attorney in Memphis and now a judge in Idaho. Something is not right about this guy. Very disturbing with his rants.

guys i feel your frustration, the last 3 years i worked i made a little over 50,000 each year. ive been trying since jan 2011 to get my disability and i just dont understand why any judge with a ounce of common sense would think i wanted to give up the lifestyle i had for 1,000 a month. ive been in front of a judge once and was denied now im on my second try yet i see people with hardly anything wrong with them who gets approved. again i dont get it

It's very frustrating. I wasn't making a whole lot when I had to stop working. I didn't need to though, as my wife made more then enough to support the family. I truly loved my last job, and the people I worked with. If I could still work, i'd be back there in a second. I told Judge Zellman that, and he stopped me, and said basically, that I was lying. I have yet to actually get the final decision from him, but my rep and I both know it's denied. I just wish he's hurry up and send it, so it'll officially be done, and I can start over. Maybe with a real lawyer this time.

After an application process that lasted years, I had just about lost any hope of getting SSDI. I was very very nervous about the hearing, especially after reading the reviews about Judge Zellman on this site, but he was understanding and fair. My lawyer was a great help and support to me as well. I made it through the hearing and anxiously awaited the judge's decision, which came a few weeks later. I was very grateful and relieved to have been awarded SSDI benefits. I wanted to write about my experience to give people hope who are still struggling. Don't give up!

The first Judge I saw over a year ago had a approved rating of over 20%. This judge Well.... 34. Denial at 46% and dismissal at 20%. Meaning- GOOD LUCK PAL. I will say this judge seems knowledgeable. However, I provided several pages of documents from the VA over 1400 pages- and I am RATED 100 % DISABLED BY THE VA VA disabled. YET- SOCIAL SECURITY finds I can work. And this judge seems to find the same thing. So heres my options. I can appeal. Well---- Guess what, this veteran is going to appeal. I have provided stacks and stacks of documents. I read what your feedback said- you discredited my doctors. REALLY? People that talked me out of suicide. You never once asked me what I do in a day. I saw something in my review about cooking cookies. I haven't cooked anything in over 9 months. I almost burned the house down on more than one occasion. And I don't feed my dogs. You never asked me what I do. I sit and stare at the floor. People that reviewed my file said I grocery shop- I have not done this in close to a year. I do not leave the home only once a week to go to a apnt with the doctor. You said you had no evidence to support the claim of migraines. Well- request it? I can provide it. Your people discredited doctors at the va and the vet center. People that have degrees and are professionals and only treat vets with ptsd, anxiety disorder, and tbi- when I saw these people I was never told "Oh by the way the social security administration does not recognize us as creditable doctors?" WELL WHO DO YOU ? I AM RATED 100% disabled through the VA disabled for gods sake. What more do you need? I was told I can appeal my decision. Or file a new one. Well guess what- I am appealing. Its going to the feds to decide. I believe you were wrong. What is sad, is now..... I have to wait another year to hear something. Shame on you. And shame on that last judge. I had a lawyer. I had stacks upon stacks. Proof. Yet you said I could carry on a conversation. We met for what? A hour. Come to my home. Sit with me for the afternoon. Spend the day with me. Spend the night with me. Talk to my former employer.Talk to former friends. I have none now. But talk to former friends. Talk to my wife. Talk to my kids. Get answers. You would see- You made the wrong decisions. I hope you sleep well tonight. Karma is well- you know what
