It took me 4 years to get to see the judge. On the day of my hearing 12-19-18 my daughter's ride to school was unable to pick her up so I had to take her with me. My attorney was worried because he informed me that most judges didn't allow children in the court room so yes I was nervous at first but when the judge told us to come in I very quickly explained what happened and he just smiled and said ok. Now as the procedure went I will say that John price was very nice and gave me enough time to give him a clear and unrushed answer. I filled for my phiscal disability because I have to have a full knee replacement and I need back surgery but my insurance is giving me hard time to even get these procedures done so to say I'm in pain all the time is very true. It's been hard trying to provide for me and my daughter since my limitations have started but somehow the Lord made a way. Well my judge was very nice and polite so now it's a waiting game yes we are praying it goes in our favor but will have to wait and see. I just want to say thank you Jude price for being nice and understanding.

I appeared before him in December 2017. I was very happy that he had already gone over my records and was able to ask specific questions. He has a rather laid back attitude but his questioning is very direct and professional. He doesn’t waste any time and keeps the hearings short. He issued a partially favorable decision in my case, and I thought the decision was well written and very helpful to my understanding why he changed my onset date. If you are assigned to this judge, don’t fret. Just make sure you are prepared.

So I read all of the comments about this Judge in preparation for a full day of hearings before him. I will say after six hearings that I think the criticisms are unfairly leveled against this ALJ. He knew each case extremely well before they ever walked into his hearing room. He wanted the time in the hearing to be focused on the relevant issues and not, as so many ALJs are prone to, asking scores of ultimately irrelevant questions. He was very cordial to the claimants and even took the time on several of them to thank them for their cases, since we (he, the VHR, me, the VE) were all there to service their case and the system that they worked so hard to pay into. I think the attorneys in Stockton must be trying to keep other attorneys from the area by saying he's so rough (joking), but I found him to be fair and delightful to deal with.

It did not go well for me and I am a one hundred percent disabled veteran. I am going before a new Judge in a few weeks. I am not holding out any hope. After this case, my suicide contract is up anyway. What a callosal joke this had been. I served my country, and in my time of need, she turned her back on me.

She was nice, easy to talk to and gave me my decision right there that day. She didnt make me wait like I thought and granted my case! I didn't know judges did that. I was so surprised and so relieved after being so nervous and waiting for so long. I am so relieved and glad it's finally over. Thank you for not making me wait one more day.

He is the WORST!!!! I had private doctors do my evals as well as there retarded doctors and he only went with the retarded doctors opinion. I am not mentally disabled, I am physically disabled and all he wanted to focus on was my mental. Therefore DENIED!!! I personally thought they picked up a bumb off the streets of Stockton and told him to play judge when he walked in. Shorts, robe, long greasy straggly long hair. I felt like asking him to please take a shower when he came in. Not impressed at all. Maybe he really does need to go to law school again. At least personal hygiene and professional training. His remark in my denial letter "claimant was well dressed and put together so she can take care of herself". HELLO I am going to court, I thought I should get out of my jammies. Maybe he should take some of his own criticism.

Professional judge with solid statistics. He is not the worse judge in this office or Northern California. Yes, he's very laid-back and no, he's not coddling you. He has to decide how to use the taxpayer's money and he takes that seriously so he will question you about smoking, weight, etc... If obesity aggravates your condition or smoking, why should taxpayers pay for that? I'm not asking that but that is the question the judge will want to know. Or why should we pay this claim for a diabetic who refuses to take his insulin. So judges will ask tough questions. Judge Skarda, like most judges will go with the state's RFC if there are no opinions from treating providers OR opinion evidence from treating provider's based solely on subjective complaints or not consistent with record as a whole. Claimants will view him hardly because they've only seen him once. As an attorney, I can say he's fair and professional, and quite thorough in how he handles his cases.

Judge: Trevor Skarda
4/8/2014 2:19:40 PM

ALJ Skarda apparently believes that it is his patriotic duty to save the country money by denying disability claims. I represent claimants in the Sacramento, San Raphael, Stockton, Fresno, and Redding hearing offices, and Skarda is the most conservative ALJ in Northern California. For instance, in one case my client went to hearing in a necessarily prescribed walker. Her medical records were voluminous, with many opinions from her specialists. Despite conflicting medical source statements from my clients specialists regarding her RFC, Skarda gave the VE ridiculous hypotheticals, which were answered by the VE with equally ridiculous representative jobs. In the written decision, Skarda gave controlling weight to the state agency examiner's opinions, despite overwhelming contrary evidence from the claimant's doctors. This ALJ needs to be brought to the attention of The Division of Quality Service and disciplined or removed from the bench.

LOOK AT JUDGE ROBECKS STATS HE HAS WENT DOWN IN APPROVAL RATINGS.. HE 33% NOW HE APPROVED 78 CASES OUT OF 236 TELL ME SOMTHIN AINT WRONG WITH HIS SCOPE OF WORK. HE NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT, AND HIS MORAL'S AS DECIDING OVER CASES SHOULD BE AUDITED.. ITS PLAIN AND CLEARLY SHOWS HE'S IS AGAINST PEOPLE WITH MENTAL OR PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS.. HE MUST FEEL HE IS PAYING OUT OF HIS POCKET TO HELP THE ILL PEOPLE OF OUR COMMUNITY WHO TRULY NEEDS HELP FROM SSI OR SSD.. PEOPLE WHO TRULY HAS SOME KNID OF MENTAL OR PHYSICAL ILLNESS OR BOTH. I WONDER DOES JUDGE ROBECK HAS AN PHD FROM HARVARD. OR SOME OTHER DOCTORAL SCHOOL FOR HIM TO PASS HIS PERSONEL JUDGEMENT FOR THE ILLNESS IN PEOPLE. BUT I CLEARLY BELIEVE ITS HIS OWN OPINION THAT HE PASS ALONG UPON EACH CASE. HE DOESN'T CARE WHAT THE MEDICAL RECORD REFLECT OR WHAT SSA DOCTORS SAY OR ANY DOCOTOR. MOST OF THE TIME HE HAS HIS MIND MADE UP OF YOU BEFORE HE EVEN START THE PROCEEDINGS. IF HE DOSE'NT LIKE YOUR WALK OR TALK OR THE WAY YOU LOOK "DENIED" CARRY YOUR BIBBLE WHEN WALKING INTO HIS CIRCUS ROOM CAUSE YOU WILL NEED IT. AND EVEN THEN THAT MAY NOT HELP YOU.. SOME ONE OR OUR COMMUNITY NEEDS TO VOTE THESE KIND OF ALJ JUDGES OUT, NOT BECAUSE HE DONT APPROVE EVERY ONE THAT COMES BEFORE HIM, BUT BECAUSE HE PLAYS DOCTOR WITH OUT A PHD. AND HE PUTS HIS OWN BELIEFS AND VIEWS PERSONALLY UPON EVERY ONE THAT COMES BEFORE HIM. ITS SAD!

Judge: Paul G Robeck
3/7/2014 7:01:29 PM

JUDGE ROBECK IS A VERY HARSH JUDGE, I FEEL SORRY FOR WHOM EVER COME BEFORE HIM. HE CLEARLY DISREGARD WHAT THE DOCOTOR SAY AND FORM HIS OWN OPINION OF WHATS WRONG WITH YOU. LOOK AT HIS APPROVAL RATE OF 35% THATS SAY EVERYTHING ABOUT HOW HE FEELS ABOUT 65% OF PEOPLE WHO COMES BEFORE HIM. THATS ALOT OF PEOPLE TO BE DENIED FOR HIS ON PERSONNEL REASON'S.HE LOOSES HIS SCOPE OF WORK AS A JUDGE AND PLAY DOCTOR OF ALL DOCTOR'S, HE EVEN DISCREDIT HIS OWN SSA DOCTORS. WHO DOES THAT? HE TALKED DOWN ON MY CASE ABOUT THINGS THAT HAS NOTHIN TO DO WITH ILLNESS. SOME ONE HIGHER UP NEEDS TO AUDIT JUDGE ROBECK AND HIS ANTICS AND HIS RAGE TWARDS THE ILL PEOPLE MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY OF OUR COMMUNITY. MAY GOD HELP YOU IF YOU COME BEFORE JUDGE ROBECK FOR ANYTHING... YOU WILL BE DENIED...

im worried now after reading all this about this judge that im surely going to loose my case coming up :( it seems no one has a chance with this judge unless you are with out legs or an arm. and even then it seems from his denial percentages and these comments left by others is that he just plainly dont have no regards for the pain or suffering.. even though none of these judges are doctors or mental health specialists.. and they are clearly not god. but play god to save a buck, which is not there money.and then the world wonder why people go insane and commit crazy acts in the community, because their problem's are over looked by such person's or people and society as an whole. until after a crime has happen in the manner of your mental health problems or some other depression or mental episodes that you some times have no control of. then thats when people open their eyes and say oh somthin is really wrong with him and he or she needs help.but when they could have gotten the proper help and attention from the gate from these judge's and other proper social security personel and doctors! but its not the doctors who's pertraying thats nothin wrong with you its these kind of judges on this pannel who pass their on personel opinion with out properly looking at one's evidence to really determin your status and mental health problems. im not putting any of these judges down, but the system and manner in which these judges decide cases needs to be looked at and properly managed by a by party personel or group. almost like a watch dog group. sorry about my misspelling but im clearly in my feeling's by such actions by most of these alj judges..

Christopher Trevor Skarda has let his license to practice law expire from what I saw online, so he must think he has this job for life. He does act snobby and prejudiced. He made sure to ask if I smoke. He also made a big deal of my weight, I felt shamed, then did not consider it a disabling factor or symptom of the disability. Yes, I saw that look of contempt on his face several times during the hearing. A good piece of my disability, mentally and physically, was from physically violent domestic abuse, which was never considered or discussed in my decision letter. I seriously question his ability to decided anything fairly because he seemed more interested in his own biases in the decision letter.

I Yvette Kelley am now representing myself in a appeal that is in process , I have new evidence that has been discovered as to what caused the Disability . In 2005 , DR. Zenhopher from Kasier Sunnyside Hospital diagnosed me with " SUI " a condition in which was severely impacting a hygenic problem that caused me to Uriante all over clothing , The Procedure that was done is " Vaginal Mesh Implant " They are responsible for many deaths and sever issues I had for years not knowing what was causing sever pain and illness . The Johnson and Johnson company is responsible for defective Vaginal mesh that caused me to almost die and lead to sever problems and pain . This should have been noted by my atty , however ..he did not represent me in the way he should have , he over looked all of this and became prejudice Of the Honorable Judge Robeck on my case , resulting in Firing me after 5 yrs.

This man far exceeded any expectationsI had in regard to attending this hearing and accomplishing a solution. He is the first person to really listen to my case, not interrupt me, not act in an unbecoming manner because of his authority, and an individual who showed respect for his fellow person. He was a pleasure to deal with.

The statistics don't lie. He is by far the most fair and compassionate. His hearings are stress free. He will usually ask most of the questions. You still need to have good medical support. But he is more likely to overlook major deficiencies with your case compared to the other ALJs

Even though his approval ratings have improved since he worked in San Jose(70% denied), this is not a judge you want to appear before. Most of his opinion is based on the Social Security doctor's evaluations and not the overall medical record. The problem I see with this is that the Social Security doctors only see the patient once and their opinions are obviously swayed to the benefit of their employer and not the patient.

Judge: Paul G Robeck

This judge was horrible to us. My child is Native American Indian, and this judge was rude and horrible towards us. He denied my child disablilty even though there was sufficient evidence that there was proof of mental disability. This man has no business being a judge because it's obvious if you are not white, then he will be prejudice against you.

Judge: Paul G Robeck

This judge is known by many that he is an elitist, xenophobe, and just plain rude towards attorneys and their clients. He is known by many for these traits. Before cases are over makes judgments that make no sense. His rulings are biased and prejudicial. Heaven help you if he doesn't like the way you look or act. He is know to give more denials than any other judge! It's a fact, just look it up.

Judge: Wynne O'Brien-Persons
6/27/2012 7:14:05 AM

When I went into my hearing with Judge Wynne O'brien Perdons I was happy to hear that I was going before a new judge. I have never in my life been before any type of judge or any law enforcement, so to hear she was new put me a little at ease, since this whole disability world is new to me. God knows, I would much rather be able to work then go through all of the chronic pain and suffering that I go through every single day and every night, as I am sure many other people out there who are truly disabled would agree. Looking back at the day of my hearing I was so nervous I couldn't think straight. For me; It was like going to a doctor and having so many questions for them, and wanting to tell them all of the things that I battled physically during the month, but my mind goes completly blank at that presice moment of course. When leaving my appointment all of the questions I wanted to ask comes back to me like a flood, and I would think to myself "I forgot to tell him/her this or that". Unfortuntely, my case was denied, I think because of my own testimony and other reasons. When my hearing was over and I walked out the door, all of things I wanted to tell her came back like a flood, and all I wanted to do was go back in there and cry out for mercy because the pain I am in all the time, and I know I cant work, but I didn't. After reading her desision all I did was cry for days. I felt her jugement of me was so unfair because things were taken out of content, and I truly have alot of pain, how can chronic pain even be measured? I have worked hard all of my life, until I finally had to admit to myself that I am disabled. This was a very hard thing for me to come to terms with. After reading some of the reviews regarding the other judges, I was glad that I went before Judge Wynne O'brien Persons. Best of luck to all of the people who are truly disabled, but were denied.
