Very thankful for judge Hansen, may God bless him.

I must agree. I assume all these 5 stars are because of approvals mine included. This entire process is just awful and takes much too long. This judge certainly doesn’t act above those he is judging I will say that. Certainly a nice change compared to the few other judges I’ve had to see in my 60 years on the planet.

The disability rules, law, I should of got my disability, but this judge denied me my disability. I am a very sick person, there is days I can barely walk, I honestly don't know if I am going to make it some days.. I have so much pain , so forgetful, the social security doctor said I was disable to work, because of my disease. She mention of me being obesity, and lack of education. It never stopped me working before. I have worked ever since I was 12 years old, worked hard for over 40 years. I have worked for everything I have, and now I am not able to work and about to lose everything I have ever worked for, because I am not able to work, and this Judge made this unfair and inhumane decision, on behalf I felt she is a prejudge Person. It is such a shame that a judge can make this kind of decision, because they don't like a person. What has our country become to. So sad that's it's become that such cases are treated like this. God be with us all.

Judge: Joyce Francis

Very unfair in my opinion. I have a very messed up back with a severely herniated disc sitting on my s-1 nerve, pain constantly down my legs and disc is so blown out it is causing significant thecal sac compression which in better terms my spinal cord. She didn't even mention my herniated disc in her decision letter. Have several other problems I feel weren’t considered with much weight...

Judge: Jonathan Sprague
8/26/2019 12:10:44 PM

Judge Sprague is a straight forward and fair judge, after waiting for 3 years for a decision and the mountains of medical records I presented I was awarded a partial decision based on the merits of my disabilities. Thank you Judge Sprague

Judge Ballengee is an awesome judge, he is very bubbly but professional, he doesn’t make me feel nervous in his presence, and I love the way that he breaks his hearing’s down to claimant, explains the way hearing is proceeded. He takes his time and shows concern with the claimant as well as the rep. I absolutely enjoyed working with judge Ballengee we need more judges like him in the world.

I give this judge a F.... for not paying attention to my case and not seeing me as a person and not a book of files...seems I'd never get approved because I'm to pretty and had some sort of education.. I have seizures on the regular and suffer from PTSD depression n some otheri won't say but I guess here in America u cant even get help unless you are WHITE AND DIEING....I WANT JUSTICE I DESERVE THE HELP OTHERS ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF.....IM TIRED SIGNED ANGRY BLACK WOMEN

You will not get your ssi or anything else you will be denied she dont give a blank about if your disabled and cant work read the review above there all telling you the turth

Judge: Todd Spangler
2/27/2019 7:06:17 AM

Todd Spangler is an ***** of the 1st degree. Doesn't know anything about medical issues and should be fired. He does not go through all medical records as he should, he knit picks and uses what he wants to use.

Judge: Tommye C Mangus
12/14/2018 1:00:27 PM

She seemed to genuinely listen to me. I was so nervous I kept drawing blanks. Eventually she just let my lawyer question me, which put me a bit more at ease. She only asked the vocational expert 2 questions and the ve said no available jobs both times, so I'm hopeful. It was overall an okay experience considering how stressful the situation is.

Judge: William C. Zuber
10/15/2018 9:31:06 AM

I had a hearing with Zuber in June and had an attorney. My documentation clearly indicated I met all the requirements as stated by SSA. Zuber was very nice at the hearing and gave me ample time to respond. My attorney afterward thought everything went well. In mid October I was notified I was denied. Zuber evidently feels like I can still work. Looking at the statistics, it clearly shows in comparison to other judges at the Louisville ODAR, Zuber approves the lowest amount of applicants, meaning he is the toughest. I don't know if he has a power trip from denying people or what. I would say if you get him, you should be very, very worried about approval. Regardless of how good things go at the hearing. Beware of him. He's not a good person.

Judge: Dennis Hansen

Judge: Christopher Van Dyck

I had my hearing back on April 5th. I suffer from a host of issues that cause me to have serious issues with both paying attention and short term memory. While I am still waiting for my outcome I can say that this judge is a good man. He was patient and kind. Even when I struggled with remembering what was asked he took the time to say it again and didn’t get short with me for doing so. That is a rare thing for me at this point in my life. My doctors, friends, families, even my lawyers have a tendency to get frustrated after the second or third time they have to repeat the question because I cannot remember what was asked a few short minutes before. I feel like even if it is a no that he would at least have given me a fair shake based on how he was during my hearing. I have been dealing with ssdi for almost three years and he is the first time I have felt as if I was actually heard and my illnesses reviewed.

Judge: Nicholas Walter
5/9/2018 12:27:10 PM

During my hearing, judge Walter texted someone he knew personally who use to work at the same place where I had been extremely abused, to ask about me. The people/person he contacted r the people who drugged n raped me, but Jusge Walter took their word against me n judge Walter laughed at me n asked me if I paid my doctor cash. Then Judge Walter had his inappropriate comments stricken from the record.

Disabled and not appoved
Judge: Keith C Pilkey
2/7/2018 11:53:23 AM

I have suffered for years with various conditions and I poured my heart out to him. I felt he was very understanding and felt my pain. Thought I was finally going to get help this time but didn't happen. I'm very disappointed in his "Unfavorable Decision" for my last hearing. I cannot work and hadn't worked for years now. I have multiple places I go for medical help but obviously it wasn't enough. Conditions I have are approvable under the Disability act. The vocational advocate played a huge roll in my denial I think as she believes everyone can work, no matter their medical conditions. I would much rather be able to work and have money and insurance than to have to depend on family and friends to help me when they can. I guess you have to be on your deathbed in order to get approved. I have been denied for years but I am not gonna appeal his decision as you have to wait two years to get another denial from Falls Church, Va. I am disabled and I will continue to refile new applications til I get approved or die,,whichever comes first. Although, I have had friends who have died while awaiting a decision. This is uncall for. How is one suppose to live during such a long process? I need medical help and because I have no insurance, I can't get help. Any solutions?

I don't know what or why he thinks he is God and has the right to discredit a Dr.s report or evaluation and in 3 years you wait things even get worse I take he is government paid there for his approval rate is very low I believe he works on commission and does not take in consideration the actual human that is being reviewed because judge makes big money lives great life makes people like me feel suicidal and I paidy working dues 33 years I didn't ask to be broke down and in bad health at 47 Mr. Zuber your not a Dr. And don't have right to aCT like one if no future after my appeal Mr ZUBER will be the reason I leave on my death note! I dont feel he is fair and he sure dont listen to what the person says in the court. He mainly goes on what the lady that looks up jobs says. He seemed real an compasionate, but in a real world he is not. If my mom could work she would not be fighting for her social security. She is not a druggie or drunkard,an im sorry for those who are . Although those are the ones who mainly get approved. He says my mom can work so he needs to find her a job. !! He is not a fair person.i hope the ones he approved are greatfull because i cannot believe how an why she got denied. Im glad im not him at night cause he needs forgiveness thats for sure. Especially after he does not listen. He sure acts like he does at first until you get the big white envelope in the mail. My mom is devastated. Now what can she do?? He gets no stars from me or my mom. This site marked one star by accident an it wont let me take it off. No stars at all.

Judge: Gregory J Froehlich
8/31/2016 12:40:12 PM

This judge has the worst rating in all of Florida and I was shockingly disapproved. He had incorrect information that I tried to correct him Of but I have never heard anything more. I am on appeal and I pray he or someone hears my case in a fair way. He even denied I was hospitalized or had ECT treatments. I am almost 55, was a social worker for many years and his vocational person said I could work in a laundry room alone. I am in despair over this. I just don't know what to do. My mom has full blown Alzheimer's and she is only 74 and it started previous to my age. I would work if I could. I have lost everything. I don't even have a vehicle to get to a job. How is it his record is not questioned when in comparison to other judges. I have worked most of my life.

Judge: Joan A Lawrence

Honorable Judge Joan; I am a 59 year old Disable Veteran with severe neck and back issues; that affect my right arm and legs 24/7. These injures happened while I was serving my Country. The VA has rated me at 120% disable but only received 80% compensation. I have had to work hard all my life, since leaving the US Army in 1976. Now I am left no longer able to work a job due to my medical issues and age; no one will hire me, I have tried. I applied for my Social Security Disability and was denied by Judge Joan. Even though the Vocational Expert told her during my hearing; “that due to my medical condition there was no jobs for me.” Another American disabled Veteran forgotten by our system. Sincerely, and very disappointed.

Thanks to this Judge for his unfavorable ruling in my case... I'm sure that three years of back payment had something to do with your decision. Without the help of this nation's twisted government!!!

I feel my life had hope but now its as good as over. I worked all my life in heavy construction laying watering since I was 14yrs old threw summer school breaks and then after high school worked full time for the same company 15yrs. Ive been completely unable to work for the past 4yrs due to many health issues that have completly broken me down. I have ashama, depression, axienty, hepC and was diagnocted with type 1 diabetes 4yrs ago and shattered my hip socket completely out. My leg is now supported by a metal plate and screws. My leg is shorter now and I cant support my own body weight with out pain. I walk with a walking stick now just to go to the bathroom. I live with my mother because I have no income to survive or just get by. I was denied benefits by Vinnie K. Today after 4yrs trying to get someone to honestly look at me and reward me and help me. Now I don't know what I'm going to do. Do I live with and burden my mother for the rest of mine or her life? I am a father of 4 children all under 13. I'm never going to be able to do anything for them in their life's. That alone has me in tears at the moment. I'd do anything to have my health back and go back to work. I can go without mostly everything in life, but having to watch my kids do without and not being able to help them is a nightmare to me. I've already lived 4yrs like this praying to god that someone would do their job and take the honest time needed to see how disabled I am. All this judge paid any attention to was my crimanal back ground. My mistakes in my past. That overided my dissabilitys. I was asked in the court hearing more questions about that then my own medical records and health issues. I don't get it. Bonnie's is without a doubt coldhearted and did me honestly wring here. If anyone deserves to be awarded benifets it doesn't matter! If she doesn't like you then you are not going to be rewarded dissabled or not! I pray god helps her! Please pray for me Thank you

He did my hearing by video here in Augusta, GA he was very professional and made me feel at ease, asked questions that I felt needed to be asked, and once done he said I was approved. I am disable veteran 100% P&T so all my paperwork was there for him to read, and this was shorter hearing than I thought it would take.

Judge: Jim Beeby
10/1/2015 2:58:01 PM

Judge appeared to base his opinion not on fact and medical records but some other reason. Applying for and not getting a job is not a reason to deny disability when the facts prove otherwise. Sounds like there is more to this picture than what meets the eye. Will be researched further but sounds like retribution for something else entirely. Even the voc-rehab expert stated that these were valid disabilities and due to liabilities, the applicant could never get hired.

I saw her on August 4 2015. I was so nervous. I was told before I saw her that I was to keep it brief and to the point. I don't understand when people go in front of a judge why they can't tell us right then and there. I was told I have a strong case but I have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for a decision. Judge Lawrence was very pleasant and seemed concerned. When I walked in she told me I could stand up if I needed to which I thought it was kind of her due to the pain I was in. I did once but again I was so nervous. When it was all over she told me she hoped that I got to feeling better. She seemed very thoughtful.

I want to personally thank Judge Van Dyke for his professional and courteous manner during my hearing. I am a very introverted and have never handled situations such as this hearing without great stress even before my injury and was absolutely sick with worry over this event for two weeks prior. He introduced himself with a smile and went about the business at hand without intimidation or verbal combat and left me feeling like a person, something even some of my doctors have not. I have not received a decision on my case, but feel that I at least will receive fair and honest consideration, something I feel I have not always received during my three years of dealing with Social Security. Sincere thanks.

Had two hearings before Judge Beeby. He was courteous and considerate of the claimants, wanting to be sure they understood what was going on. He ran a logical hearing that allowed the claimants to fully tell their story. Whether he rules favorably or not, he conducted a fair hearing and, I believe, will render an honest decision. I would not mind appearing before him again.

11/21/2014 10:35:07 AM

I just had a hearing with Judge Lawrence on 11/18/14. My lawyer kept telling me that she was tough, and that she dosen't approve many cases. Wtbs, my hearing with her was very brief, and to the point. At the end of my hearing she stated that even though i was young, she commends me on continuing to seek treatment and employment through vocational rehabilitation. I am prayerful that she makes a fair decision. My lawyer said we should know in 6-8weeks.

Heartless and ignorant. Suggests that person could frequently climb ramps and stairs when the SSA medical examiner says NO. Went over the opinions of VE and examiner. Uses old statements thinking stuff cant get worse. LIES too.

I would like to just say she is a fair and just judge she truly listen and provide fair decisions based on the evidence if more judges were this unbiased and did everything on a case by case basis and not under any preconceived stereotype this world would be a better place

I've never been in front of an ALJ before because I'm still waiting on my court date hearing . I applied for disability May 2012 & I have received letters stating that my case is sitting at the ALJ Office. My attorney told me that its still pending but I should be hearing something any time since its been over a year or 2. I had a hearing in April 2013 but I missed it. I don't know what to expect or do. I'm a little scared.

Judge: Michelle Thompson

She took the time to listen to me and was very caring.

February 5, 2014. Today I had a ALJ hearing with Christopher Van Dyck. I had been overly anxious before going into the hearing. As I sat down in the hearing office, Judge Van Dyck swore me in. I just want to post that he's a Awesome ALJ. During my whole time in the hearing, he never once made me feel uncomfortable. He's polite, and very nice. I thank God for giving me this knowledgable Judge. When time came to end the hearing, I left feeling good. My name is Teresa L. Wright, Haltom City Texas.

Went in front of Mr Barker on Nov 8th 2013 then he decided to send me to their doctors after my hearing I went to one Dec 9th and the other one Jan 6th Really do not feel I am going to be approved because during my hearing this judge made me feel as if I was wasting his time being in front of him. Had a video conference hearing so who knows what is going to happen

ALL Tax Payers, Women, Men & Children~~ Beware of this "Judge"~~...I couldn't even tell you what his face looked like, that's how much attention he paid to my case. I truly believe he has the "Black Robe Syndrome" ...This was a Reprimand Case by the Appeals Council & this "Judge" had his mind made up WAY before I even walked in the door. It was almost embarrassing as to how obvious he made it that he had the previous Judges back covered!!! This was nothing but a full blown Conspiracy Plot between Judges & it needs to be investigated, I need someone to please help me... He threw out & discredited ALL of my doctors, ALL of my MRI, medical reports, etc...He threw out & discredited ALL of the SSDI doctor's & reports, ALL of the Voc expert reports, (I have had to go in front of THREE Judges now!)... I am in total shock at how LITTLE he paid attention to ANYTHING & how MUCH he twisted and turned ALL REAL reports into what he wanted it to say or be. I have no words to tell you how he took over the ROLE of playing a real doctor & disregarded all REAL doctors statements & reports. He threw out & discredited third party testimonies, so what was he looking at to judge my case??? It must have been his thumb because there was nothing left for him to read, he threw out & discredited everything BUT his thumb!!!...There is NO need for, or to employ ALJ's if they are ANYTHING like this one~ What a true waste of time, money and resources ~~GOVERNMENT NOTICE~~Please eliminate ALL ALJ positions as they are not needed when they throw out & discredit REAL doctors reports & have their minds already made up before you walk in the door. I have been waiting for MY much needed SSDI benefits & jumping threw hoops from 2009 for this hog wash and total embarrassment??? I will not/cannot stop, I will appeal this no matter how long it takes or what it takes...This "Judge" made me out to be some type of liar & I do not lie! I know & understand that you must weed out the bad seeds, but why would ANYONE wait & beg for their own hard earned money if they didn't really need it??? I would rather be digging ditches and cleaning this "Man's" toilets than be where or how I am, what's wrong with him my dear Lord???? This is nothing but a Conspiracy to keep people who need REAL help down and out & he was punishing me for doing an appeal! This "Man" needs to hire me if he is so confident that I am able to even leave my home! Please contact me "Judge" & tell me where & at what time I should be at work for YOU, because no one else will hire me with all of my conditions & I wont last 2 days at ANY job, and please keep in mind that I must lay flat on my back with my left leg elevated for 30 to 40 minutes, 3 to 4 times a day. I am not joking, you have my number, please call me with my new job details & I promise that I will try if you have that much faith in me that I can work. All I was even asking for was Medical help, and NO to that also? Now what am I going to do, my life is totally destroyed and over. I am so sorry for being rude here, but this is my life now what do I do??? And, he also stated that I applied on Sept 1 2008, (my birthday, ya ok!) then in court he asked me the date & how am I to recall the exact date that many years ago? I said I stopped working on December 24, 2008 so he denied me for this???

Judge: Jonathan H Leiner

He's an odd fellow. Beyond that, he doesn't like it when attorneys ask leading questions.

Judge: Robert C King
9/12/2013 2:52:32 PM

Judge Robert C King is one of the worst judges in all of the entire United States of America. let alone "Akron, OH". He is very rude and very uncompassionate to peoples conditions. I know his job is to Deny, Deny, Deny as much as humanly possible and his record shows that. His demeanor is he is sick and tired of hearing people basicly whine and complain, but you are there for that reason to just get your point/disease across. But that is "His Job"! He needs to retire and let someone else move up in that office who can give a Fresh perspective on cases. My opinion only. Thank You for your time.

J.Bryan Jr
Judge: Donald A Rising
5/10/2013 12:55:36 PM

The Honorable Judge D.Rising was very personable and professional in his demeanor. He's a very straight forward and attentive Judge. I was very relaxed throughout the entire proceeding. My advice to anyone whom has a hearing with Judge Rising just to be honest and respectful. If you don't understand a question, don't be afraid to say so as he is very accommodating and will rephrase it. To be honest anyone whom has a case with Mr Rising should feel blessed.

Judge: Frank Letchworth
4/4/2013 11:37:33 AM

He accused me of drug seeking in 2010 and didnt read doctors reports of a office visit with 11 return narcotics, 2 weeks later return visit of 22 narcotics missing a prescription for the next two weeks. Not the behavior of a drug addict. He discriminates and was transferred from knoxville for his discrimination. He is worthless crap

Judge: Bonnie Kittinger
4/1/2013 10:26:15 AM

Which I had any other judge but her something is wrong if she only approves 20 percent of her cases.

Judge: Todd Spangler
3/28/2013 2:42:34 PM

Based on our experience ALJ does have a tendency to come to the hearing without a strong handle on the facts of the case and rep may need to get him back on track. He will do most of the questioning and won't usually ask for opening or closing.

Judge: William C. Zuber
1/23/2013 6:32:45 PM

Judge Zuber no sense limited point of view stay away

Judge: Todd Spangler
1/8/2013 9:53:08 AM

Watch how evidence is characterized in your case he does not seem to read file prior to hearing so you will need to educate about the case AT hearing. He is friendly but that is fatal to your case if you underestimate what he knows about the file. When going to VE in GRID cases watch as he does not have sedentary evaluated he will just address medium and light work even though there are NO transferrable skills.

Judge: Bonnie Kittinger
12/28/2012 5:40:52 PM

Yes, she is a terrible ALJ.

You denied a HOMELESS man, who has been fighting SSA (SSD/SSI) since 2003 and you should have READ his information as stated by the Veterans Administration Hospital for his conditions Medical and Mental. As classified by this site, you have approved 13% of your cases, I guess you feel that in order to get SSI a person must be close to DEATH, well.... I hope someone will help me.....

Judge Lawrence listened and made a fair decision. She has a great demeanor and seems to really care for the folks that come in front of her.

Judge: Michelle Thompson

I dont think she took in to consideration what I have to go through everyday dealing with children that have ADHD and ODD have twins one approved other one keep being denied I wish she could walk in my shoes and see how it feels to get calls from school because your child cant stay in her seat or that the child is being suspended for fighting hope she one day look at the whole picture and not just her question she asked us

Judge: Michelle Thompson
8/23/2012 4:57:14 PM

I don't understand her decision I have twins one approved other denied several times never went to court one other twin but the oldest getting denied they both have the same medical history and they take med everyday which is five to be exact and hopefully when I appeal I will have some type of representation because why do one get approved and the other one keeps getting denied keep in mind they are only three mintues apart bug the oldest twin keep getting denied ever chance I apply

This woman is 67 years old and needs to go home and spend more time with the grandkids. She is an idiot who barely made a living as a lawyer. She should retire now and live out a comfortable upper class retirement and look forward to a horrible eternity

I had my ssa hearing at 9:00 this morning , june 12th. Judge TODD SPANGLER Preceded over my case and was on time and very professional the whole time. He touched base on every issue i had. He was very blunt and to the point but would also explain why! The Vocational expert and court recorder was also nice and professional! I admit to being real nervous when i first went in the room but Judge SPANGLER was pleasant talking and calm which made me feel the same way after the hearing started. So my experience with Judge TODD SPANGLER was a very good one! GOOD LUCK ! I HOPE YOU GET JUDGE SPANGLER ALSO !

Hottest looking ALJ I've seen. Very cute french sounding accent and a nice demeanor as well.

Judge: Mark Siegel
5/9/2012 6:20:44 AM

Judge Seigel started our hearing early...always a plus in my book! He gave odd hypos, I thought, but a lot of them, and they eventually got to where they needed to be. I will reserve judgement on how that goes until I see the decision. Very dry, pleasant presentation. Will put your client at ease well enough.

Judge: Frank Letchworth
