I'm writing this *before* knowing the result of the hearing instead of just 5-stars because a decision was favored. I've been in pretty bad mental shape, and two years of expecting a functional capacity argument, come to find I qualified for a listing. I've been in such bad shape I was nearly hospitalized shortly before and after the hearing. I wanted to crawl under a rock and die during the meeting. But Hamner unexpectedly listened carefully to everything, even took into account things my representative advised I try avoiding which I knew wouldn't be possible. But overall it felt like he made his decision before I walked in. ... > He clearly studied my case extensively. It made me understand why the process took so long. I was hopelessly broken to the point even though the hearing went unexpectedly, extremely well, I, a 30-something man, exploded in tears. I needed my attorney to hold my hand and help me out of the hearing office. For my safety and safety of the security officers working at the building, she then escorted me off the premises and made sure I had an emergency meeting with my therapist. I've had recurring nightmares about the hearing for 8 days; it seems the experience left me emotionally traumatized. Mind, this is after a *good* hearing. ... > So, despite the sheer hopeless impossibility of making me feel better, Hamner patiently did his best to make me feel as comfortable, understood, and welcome as possible. If anything, his kind treatment was wise and might've saved lives that day. I understand there's a lot of pressure from the top to deny cases these past few years, and I hope his decisions are made with the utmost integrity and logical thought processes so he can continue serving as an ALJ.

I applied in 2011, 2016,2017, and appealed in 2018. I was DENIED, by this *******. It is documented I can not hold a job because of my medical issues, and written by several of my doctors for me NOT TO WORK. I am diagnosed with Bipolar, PTSD, Stockholm's, Carpal Tunnel, Raynaud's, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Arthritis, Trauma from Sexual Abuse, and DOmestic Violence, Panic and Anxiety attacks, Social anxiety, Migraines, Eating Disorder, Chronic Fatigue, Add, Asthma. I CAN NOT WORK. HAVE BEEN HOMELESS ( COUCH HOPING FOR 5 YEARS) NO INCOME, AND LOSING FRIENDS ALONG THE WAY. I HAVE BEEN FALSELY ACCUSED OF CRIMES BY MY ABUSERS SO I WOULDN'T BE ALE TO SEE MY CHILDREN, AND DESPERATELY TRYING TO STAY POSITIVE. I HAVE SOUGHT SHELTER ANYWHERE I COULD, IN THE MOST DESPERATE TIMES, AND IT TURNED OUT HORRIBLY. THE JUDGE, JUDGED ME WRONG, AND FALSELY ACCUSED ME OF DOING DRUGS WHEN I HAD NOT. I'M NOT THE TYPICAL HOMELESS. I DON'T DO DRUGS. I'M NOT AN ALCOHOLIC. I'M COLLEGE EDUCATED. IT'S NOT MY FAULT, I FELL VICTIM TO ABUSE, AND CAN NOT RECOVER. HE IS MAKING IT WORSE FOR ME!!

I pray for anyone who goes before this judge. It doesn't matter if your doctor fights for you or not, she will tear your records apart and pick what she wants to hear. I especially feel for anyone with suicidal tendencies that go before her, as she is more like to leave you homeless or cause your death than to approve your disability. She has no clue how terrible mental illnesses are to live with, nor does she care.

When I appeared before her she remained informal the entire time. I felt she made her decision before I even opened my mouth. I'm certain she will deny my claim not only because of her stats, but my claim should have been a bench decision.

I had my hearing November 15th 2017 and I'm still awaiting a decision from the judges office. My lawyers don't know anything other than it is still in the judges hands. I was told is have a decision within 90 days and as you can see, I'm still waiting. He was a great listener and i didn't feel intimidated at all. My issue is that the "process" takes entirely too long and some of us are in desperate need for a decision so that we know where to go from do i get my do i get the injections i do i keep paying my bills...what am i going to do about rent..All of this in some cases is contingent on a speedy decision. Thanks for listening.

She is a total nightmare. She wasn't fair, nor courteous. She was actually downright rude. She barely allowed me to speak. She interrupted me consistently. I was in horrific pain that day and she yelled at me by saying (and I quote) "What is wrong with you, I don't understand!" I'm disabled. That's what was wrong! She is completely unprofessional and emotionally abusive. I felt worse after our hearing. I actually had to go to the ER after that hearing. Thank the Heavens I was a blessed with a sympathetic judge at my Remanded Appeal Hearing afterwards. KERINS MADE ME WAIT AN ADDITIONAL TWO YEARS on top of the one and a half years I had already been waiting. If your case is to be heard before this woman... Be prepared to wait another 2-3 years. Run for the hills. Request another ALJ. It may be time for Kerins to retire. Someone in upper management or government needs to take a serious look at how she handles her cases. Sincerely, Treated Badly

As someone has already mentioned, she is insensitive to mental health issues. With judges like her, why is there even an appeals process? Over a year of waiting for this hearing and turns out it was a big waste of time. And yes, before she even hears what all you have to say, she has already made her decision.

Devil worship is how you can obtain disability; false prescription and prostitution available in Amite, LA. Louisiana debt is currently $22.2trillion with a ponzi scam to help aid saharia law, cocaine, crystal meth, heroin, and prostitution. I recently appeared before the Honorable Judge Wiedemann. I was very tense and nervous, and she made me very comfortable and at ease. She was very thorough and concise and never at one point was I confused or did I feel out of place. Her demeanor was mother-like and she paid all her attention to me in a very professional way as well. I was very lucky to have gotten her as my judge regardless of the decision rendered.

Judge: Timothy G Stewart
8/26/2016 9:46:51 AM

My Attorney and I found Judge Timothy Stewart totally fair, as he was familiar with my case prior to entering the hearing. He actually "listened" to both me and my attorney, as he asked questions relevant to my case. He did award a favorable decision, with my very difficult medical case. Thank You, Judge Stewart!

Judge: Daniel E Whitney
8/18/2016 2:26:30 AM

Extremely discriminatory against invisible diseases. Actually had the nerve to say he "didn't believe" my specialist/surgeon OR psychiatrist, even though there was medical documentation, X-rays, scans, etc, to back up my diagnoses. Very rude, sarcastic, condescending. Stared at computer screen entire time & would not even look me in eyes. Also obviously didn't look at all of my medical documentation, because a lot of his reasons for denial, were simply untrue; and he would have known that had he actually looked at all of my records. Left me feeling like just a lazy loser or something. Shame on him for his treatment of those coming in & completely at his mercy, for dishing out denial after denial without thorough review and/or education on the disabilities in question and for his complete lack of empathy for those of us hurting and already embarrassed to have to be at a court's mercy in the first place!

Me and my daughter will continue to pray for you and your trespasses. I watched my daughter struggle from the time she was born with C.P. and now with PTSD because of 5 yrs of sexual abuse that she had before I got custody of her. Her Mother lost her Disability in 2000 of no fault of my daughters at age 7. I carried her til 2011 when I filed for her. We never claimed benefits for my daughter, the social worker did, shortly after she was born. even with a ackilles injury that never healed back in 2010 on top of her C.P. and now with her PTSD that was reported to the appeals council and still denied. Shes now 23 unable to work, been a shut-in the last 9 mos.of other female issues on top of all this. I retired in 2011 early to help her finish school and since lost our house last year and filing bankrupcy . Mr. Ill say this, The Real Judge Is A-coming and your not it. Get out while you can and repent. Did live in Newbern NC.

3/16/2016 12:08:34 PM

You know its bad when my attorney tells me his firm no longer takes SSDI cases that will have hearings out of the Metarie office, specifically because of this judge. Even the lawyers know they don't have a fair chance in front of her. A lack of genuine qualifications and an angry hostile attitude kind of tell you where things are going BEFORE she has even heard any evidence. Just wonder how long SSA will allow stuff like this to continue as it is genuinely harming folks who have paid into this system for decades and deserve a fair hearing and to be treated civilly and respectfully.

Judge: Benita A Lobo
7/12/2015 10:52:31 PM

My impression of this judge is that she is angry and openly hostile to attorneys and claimants even the voc rehab person. After reading how long it takes to get approved I was prepared for a denial but nothing prepared me for the judge to be rude and angry? Disappointed that this judge totally ignored Dr.s reports and restrictions? I paid into the system four decades and if nothing else everyone in the courtroom should speak to each other in a civil manner. I knew within the first two minutes she would deny me. I knew it prior to any evidence being presented. Felt like it was a done deal to be denied regardless of the evidence. Something is very wrong here and this lady should not be judging anything until she gets her anger issues under control.

I was apprehensive and feeling defeated when I walked into the courtroom. Judge Hamner had declined me on my first hearing and the Board of Reviews sent me back on a remand for a second hearing. This second hearing was in the middle of the afternoon and the closed-circuit medical specialist had been heavily batting against me. I had 400+ pages of medical documentation to support my medical maladies. I was certainly disabled. Judge Hamner with his quiet demeanor listened patiently and at last he said he had heard enough and gave me a favorable decision. God bless you Judge Hamner! I have been vindicated. Judge: Steven C Graalmann
2/8/2013 3:37:54 PM

This is a very good Judge because he (1) acts professional, (2) appears to care about the claimants, (3) will entertain attorney discussion about the case, and (4) uses common sense to decide cases. I wish all Judges were as fair as he is. This is not to say he approves alot, because he is 50-50. However, you will not lsoe if you have a good case, even if you have one or two shortcomings in the evidence, as long as it is a legitimate claim.

Judge: Christopher H Juge
2/8/2013 3:34:02 PM

Extremely professional. Very sensitive to ensuring a full and fair hearing. Can definitely emphasize with clients. Work history reflecting strong work motivation is a major factor in credibility determination, particularly with younger individuals. Is not fond of illegal drug use/abuse. Make sure you know your case very well (e.g. exhibit and page numbers). If your client's testimony is not true, you will lose. Do not B.S. this Judge, as he is very intelligent and will call you out on it and you will not feel too professional.

This is an ALJ who worked for the appeals council and you can tell in her decisions which are fairly negative. She may make sure to ask for very specific evidence to justify her denial. Most claims she has no intention of paying. She will probably write better decisions than most ALJ's since she is from the AC and is used to making up reasons to deny Claimant's appeals. I think she is fairly negative.

Very unprofessional and biased. Sarcastic, rude, and used ridiculous reasoning to deny me. He actually holds it against you and says it's proof you're not disabled if you manage to get yourself to a specialist. He could care less about the rules or ethics. Pray you don't get this guy.
