It would be a good thing if judges could walk one day in the same shoes of the people they denied. A lot of decisions would be reversed. 00 star rating!!

When I appeared by him he was curt, condescending, and unprofessional. He is the worst judge in the ODAR history; look at his stats it speaks volumes. I pity the claimant that has to appear before him.

Judge: Thomas G Henderson

The first ALJ I appeared in front of and the worst ALJ in history. He is curt, condescending, and unprofessional. I hope he is terminated, retires, or you know what before the next claimant appears in front of him.

I had my hearing November 15th 2017 and I'm still awaiting a decision from the judges office. My lawyers don't know anything other than it is still in the judges hands. I was told is have a decision within 90 days and as you can see, I'm still waiting. He was a great listener and i didn't feel intimidated at all. My issue is that the "process" takes entirely too long and some of us are in desperate need for a decision so that we know where to go from do i get my do i get the injections i do i keep paying my bills...what am i going to do about rent..All of this in some cases is contingent on a speedy decision. Thanks for listening.

Judge: Angela Donaldson

A fair and competent judge. After a spinal injury in 2010, i could no longer work. A previous judge instructed me i could do my old job (HVAC) with 5 debilitating conditions in my back..a TOTAL *****! My latest hearing was March 2017 before Judge Donaldson. After a brief hearing (15 minutes) and a short meeting between the Judge, and my Attorney, I was instructed by my Attorney, the judge was ruling in my favor. 6 weeks later, the approval letter arrives, after fighting this typical government BS since November 2010!

She know if she reads this
Judge: Nancy M Pizzo

I've never seen a judge fight so hard, to (deny) a child's disability. I've been up against her for the past several years, I've even went all the way to the Federal District Court, suing the SSA on behalf of her. A Federal Court judge (remanded) the case back to her, and she has once again, denied my child's case. She's been instructed to consider (all) evidence/facts involved in the case, and continues to deny on the very basis she was (remanded) for. She doesn't believe a (learning disability) is actually a disability. If your child takes ADHD medication, and may have a couple days that weren't a issue during a school day etc...and you report to the child's psychiatrist these momentarily calm times, judge Nancy Pizzo determines that to be (improvement), therefore, not disabled. She thinks a child with ADHD, compounded with a learning disability, isn't considered being disabled at all. My child has been in (special education) since the start of 1st grade, he remains in (special education) currently, and is now 12 years of age. Dr.s/Teachers etc... all have tested, and determined that my son has these impairments, and is considered (disabled) under their findings of facts. But leave this all in Nancy Pizzo's hands, none of these certified trained professionals, have a clue what they are talking about. She's determined to show me, she makes the rules regarding cases that fall into her court. She doesn't care about being (remanded), as she still will not follow the SSA rules, which again, she was previously (remanded) for. Certainly I will again, appeal her decision, I don't even want her no longer affiliated with my child's case, but in fact, would like a fresh set of eyes to view this case from the beginning to now.

I received this judge for my hearing. He was nice and listened to me without interruptions. He wasn't rude nor bias during my hearing. I don't know the outcome yet but I was respected and treated fairly. Just be blunt and honest with him. I was in pain during my hearing and couldn't focus he didn't mind repeating the questions and stayed patient the entire time. Thank you Judge Whitney.

Judge Voisin was my instructor at Tulane University. He taught with such joyous confidence and provided a very succinct curriculum apropos to the nature of Disability Law. All the information regarding the subject matter was explained in the utmost professional manner; I left class a better individual as it relates to my knowledge regarding our country's disability stance. Judge Glynn Voisin is definitely one of the upper echelon figures to ever grace our justice system!

Judge: Daniel E Whitney
8/18/2016 2:26:30 AM

Extremely discriminatory against invisible diseases. Actually had the nerve to say he "didn't believe" my specialist/surgeon OR psychiatrist, even though there was medical documentation, X-rays, scans, etc, to back up my diagnoses. Very rude, sarcastic, condescending. Stared at computer screen entire time & would not even look me in eyes. Also obviously didn't look at all of my medical documentation, because a lot of his reasons for denial, were simply untrue; and he would have known that had he actually looked at all of my records. Left me feeling like just a lazy loser or something. Shame on him for his treatment of those coming in & completely at his mercy, for dishing out denial after denial without thorough review and/or education on the disabilities in question and for his complete lack of empathy for those of us hurting and already embarrassed to have to be at a court's mercy in the first place!

Judge: Tamia N Gordon

Worst Judge of its kind! At the hearing i broke down crying explaining my condition and she didn't show one bit of compassion. A month later she denied me even with a good Lawyer and a well prepared medical record from my doctor. She has send me to a state psychologist who along with my doctor agreed on my condition and still denied me. I hope she can sleep at night.

Hi I'm mr Boudreaux. I had to go infront off judge Marry Guttuso 7/27/16. For a 18 wheeler accident me and my Grand Mother was in volved in. I was pleased how she asked about my grandmother and how was she doing. She was very compassionate and told me to stand up if needed because she understood my pain i am going thru. Only thing that was weirded was the VE said I was hypothetically able to work a dish washing job or office work. Which I can not perform do to sleepy medications, and weak back muscles I learned something new today about compassion and understanding others do have .

Would like to know from any reps who have had Judge Voisin how he conducts hearings, is opening statement optional, does he let rep do the questioning, etc. Is Judge Voisin pretty good with hypo's. Has win rate over 60% which is rare. Thanks for input.

Judge: Regina L Warren

I had this judge on 05/15/2015 was denied but i can't fault her she was on doing her job by going by the rules and after reading her decision why I was denied I would have to agree because lawyers don't summit all your medical documents, medical history also your doctor's don't properly document your findings and history properly. So don't blame the judge blame the ones we have represented us and ourselves for not making sure everything is in files before meeting with judges. I went before this judge and was denied but I would give her a 5 star rating because she was polite, listen and took every piece of evidence that was given to her in to consideration, because they most important part of my disability was not present like my fibromyalgia and hypothyroidism. Thank you. ALJ for doing your job well. May the Lord continue blessing you in all areas of your life God Bless.

Judge: Thomas G Henderson
8/30/2014 3:58:53 PM

I had my case in front of Judge Henderson in August of 2014, and I don't know if I've been approved or not yet. Still waiting on a letter. Judge Henderson was very to the point but he allowed me to comment and explain anytime I felt I needed to, he also allowed my witness plenty of time to speak. He was respectful and I didn't feel rushed when giving testimony. He made sure I was aware of my right to have a representative before the hearing started, but I choose to proceed without one. I feel like Judge Henderson will treat anyone fairly that goes in with a good attitude and is respectful. But he is very blunt and to the point. All in all, he seemed to be a good judge.

Judge: III Volz

Judge Volz is strictly by the book. He is a good listener and a fair judge. I believe that if your paperwork is in order and a good lawyer you will prevail. To everybody that is posting on here just hope that you will end up with a judge that will listen and not one that doesn't care what you say or what kind of proof you may have.

Of all the Metairie and New Orleans - based (not visiting) hearing judges I've been in front of over the years, she is the most professional. Many (perhaps even most) of the others encountered unfortunately seem to enjoy being discourteous, to claimants and representatives alike.

I don't know why everyone is putting Judge Henderson down. I found him to be a very reasonable, fair and just Judge. If you appear before him and you're honest and don't have an attitude, he will treat you fairly. So many people appear before judges and act like they are owed something! And far too many people just plain out lie to judges! These people just don't seem to understand that the judges are well-educated, professional people who have had a lot of experience with people lying to them.

Very Fair, very thorough in her decision process, I wish to address all of the people leaving negative feedback on this website. If you have all of your documents in order and have followed all of the rules you have nothing to worried about. This is a legal process that goes by the guidelines that are thoroughly spelled out for each individual if you follow them and meet the requirements for being disabled you will be given a favorable decision, If you do not meet the requirements then stop crying and complaining about the Judge was not fair to you, because baby the judge was fair, you where the one that was unprepared. You and you your self are to blame if you do not get a favorable rating. Follow the law and the law will prevail in your favor.

Judge: John A Thawley
3/4/2013 10:24:45 PM

Judge Thawley seems friendly but is the most nasty white devil I had evers Know. This heathen judge did his very best to provoke me to angry. The question he asked was smart questions, his ***** Melisa Stewart laugh at all of his negative questions adress to me.Then the devil used two doctors advice i had never seen before. Mr. Devil went back 10 years on my first injury to take my doctors advice, which is totally stupid. He honesty stated in his decision he didn't believe my doctors because both was African American, where in the world did this heathen come from. Judge heathen read all my notes which are medical evidience that are in my favor and he twisted the truth. My stundent loans are discharge and the same note the heathen have so does the United States of education. Therefore the US government verify I have a disability issue but not the Judge. If I could sue this Judge for not understanding his job i would.

Why are people like this in this line of work so they can destroy as many peoples lives as possible in the shortest amount of time. He will look for a reason to deny you don't say you can wipe your own butt he will deem you are able to work.

Judge: Daniel E Whitney
2/15/2013 12:38:25 PM

This judge is Biased.

Judge: John A Thawley
2/11/2013 9:37:50 PM

Judge Thawley seems friendly enough but after he issued an opinion that said I was disabled he then stated that the claim was denied. It made no sense and I truly have been disabled. Now I have to worry about homelessness. But since I am a White and American I should expect this punishment.

Judge: Steven C Graalmann
2/8/2013 3:37:54 PM

This is a very good Judge because he (1) acts professional, (2) appears to care about the claimants, (3) will entertain attorney discussion about the case, and (4) uses common sense to decide cases. I wish all Judges were as fair as he is. This is not to say he approves alot, because he is 50-50. However, you will not lsoe if you have a good case, even if you have one or two shortcomings in the evidence, as long as it is a legitimate claim.

Judge: Daniel E Whitney
1/7/2013 5:24:00 PM

How can his awards be shown for 2013 and today is only 1/7/13 my hearing date unless the decisions are already made before we get in court, Judge whitney is a hard judge to figure out and beware of the VE they must be trained to say that everyone can be a surveillanc monitor tech, this is the job they say you can do when they can't find anything else for you to do,in reality This job does not exist!

Judge: Gerardo Mariani
12/7/2012 6:14:41 PM

He does have difficulty hearing but I have always found him to be very fair. That isn't to say he can't make mistakes but I don't believe his denials are based on bias.

Judge: Gerardo Mariani
12/2/2012 6:53:19 PM

This judge presided over my hearing. At all times, he was very proper and professional and showed a deep knowledge of the law. He corrected the vocational expert in his testimony and that led to an allowance in my case. People that bad mouth him are very unfair and very ignorant.

Judge: Michael S Hertzig
11/26/2012 4:53:52 PM

My hearing lasted almost an hour and a half in front of this judge. My attorney presented medical evidence from my medical records proving I was diagnosed with PTSD and Bipolar disorder. The vocational expert testified that I could get a job but not maintain it. After waiting 2 months he is requested a supplemental hearing and is now ordering that a medical expert be present and another vocation expert! It's already proven that I am disabled according to SSA guidelines yet he is still requesting another hearing when nothing has changed.

Judge: Gerardo Mariani
11/24/2012 6:35:11 PM

The guy is not only totally clueless, he's also totally deaf. Crazy how someone with these deficiencies gets to play God with my life.

Judge: Gerardo Mariani

Judge: Thomas G Henderson
10/10/2012 12:00:21 PM

When I had my case in front of him he was rushing my attorney and cutting my attorney off. The craziest thing was him rolling his eye and head in the first 5 min of the case. I would not be surprised if he did not hear anything me or my attorney had to say.

Judge: Harold Chambers
9/27/2012 1:04:02 PM

Make sure you submit a pre-hearing brief and be prepared to discuss the evidence. If you know your file, Judge Chambers is a very decent judge to deal with. If you do sloppy work, he won't be very forgiving. Overall, Judge Chambers is one of the good guys but his hearings do tend to drag out longer than most.

Judge: David W Engel
9/27/2012 6:27:50 AM

Fair judge, but be ready to address unemployment, inconsistent statements in the file, or drug and alcohol issues. He does not overlook that kind of thing at his hearings but tends to be cool that hit those issues head on honestlyrather than try to cover them up as if they did not exist.

Judge: Gerardo Mariani
9/23/2012 4:26:04 PM

Judge Mariani is very knowledgeable and very fair. Although he denied my claim, he conducted himself very properly and very respectfully. That is a JUDGE!!!!!!

Very nice and professional. You will win with good evidence and a good representative.

Very unprofessional and biased. Sarcastic, rude, and used ridiculous reasoning to deny me. He actually holds it against you and says it's proof you're not disabled if you manage to get yourself to a specialist. He could care less about the rules or ethics. Pray you don't get this guy.
