Trick questions, convenient hearing, ignorance and arrogance are his modes of operation. His denial for me ran to 17 pages and he stated that I am able to do11 things that I can no longer do. The vocational witness said there are no jobs I can do but that doesn’t stop this prat “ judge” from having a judgment made before you get in the room. If he tells you good luck you will need it because he has decided to deny your case.

I was not prepared. He was straightforward and respectful. I don’t know how all you “disabled” people can talk so badly about someone you don’t know. Just because you did not get your way, so childish and shows mental illness. You should not want to be disabled. Just like you took the timeout to write a bad review. Take the time out to plan or make goals to get out your situation even with your health issues. That a lot of you make up in your head!

Judge: Hortensia Haaversen : we are grateful for your decision on my wife case , However we are in some distress over the office of disability in Buffalo NY and the way my wife was treated by employee who has cause her case to be pushed back another 90 days from last week as the employee shut her case down because my wife could not answer his questions due to her TBI. but the real reason is with our legal representative and their lack of contact and also giving out bad advise according to the office at 186 Exchanged st ,Buffalo NY . We are looking to review the labor cost from their office and to verify the real amount that is due for payment.

This judge made a horrible mistake in judging my case she just keeped going on about my tattoos and I was just thinking to myself we are not here to talk about tattoos I thought were here to talk about a disability and the reasons why I can’t work but she was really just hung up about the tattoo situation again I was thinking to my self yes lady I know I got tattoos get over it already she was also judgmental on my Personal appearance my age ect so all in all I took her Decision to federal court and was in my favor for an appeal 18 months later here I go again back to court again all over her Mistake she made and For wasting my time at the end of the day she didn’t do her job right if you get this judge for your case be careful on your appearance and also be very careful on what you say she is very Judgmental and well deny your case for any little reason she feels like in my Experience is the worst judge to have.

Ex-Military or their spouses stand a very good chance of winning from Laura V. I've had 4 favorable returns by ODAR and still no win after 15 years. It should be illegal to drag this out past multiple FAVORABLE findings by ODAR in the applicants favor! Instead I have lost everything! There should be a maximum of five years in the ssdi process.

I am the single case approved by the Albuquerque Odar ALJ. Mariam C Fernandez Rice in the year of our Lord 2017. The processing office is forcing me to appeal the decision without my consent. In processing the protected application date of the approved title 16 before the approved title 2 is being denied by the processing office. And forcing me to blame the ALJ as being in error. When P.O.M.S. D.I.27515.020 new title 2 D.I.B. claim- title16 disability previously established. Clearly refers the processing office as the responsible entity in favoring the claimant in detail. Please review.

My mom had her hearing on June 28th. She has all new records and she requested a supplemental hearing in which we got a date for November. We faxed in the documentation that states we will appear. My mom's PCP and her neurologist wrote very detailed statements. My moms condition has declined and she meets the social security blue book official guidelines and the criteria for those guidelines. I am very confused we got a letter today that was sent to Joe Pitts pa state Rep n all it says is unfavorable decision and my mom has not even had her supplemental hearing yet. I'm calling the adjudicators office on Monday my mom has cognitive impairment she cannot remember things it's written in stone plus records going back to 2013 for very severe mental health and ongoing treatment plus cops and degenerative disc disease scoliosis spondylosis I have no idea what is going on it makes absolutely no sense

WOW! Thank you for further ruining my life. I needed this help... I'm genuinely disabled and right when I'm ready to give up I find out you denied me. Why? I can't work, I don't even go to the corner store because of my conditions and you denied me any kind of security. Thank you for making the decision to really bury me. I hope this hangs over your soul for all eternity. This judge is so very wrong.

He is as bad as the others on here say, he should be fired or tried for charges. I had him for an ALJ in 2015, I'm still waiting in late 2016 for the Appeals Council to hopefully reverse this vile man's discretion. Like other people have said on here his typical mode of operation is to gave little weight to your several years doctor and all of the doc's supporting imaging and tests. Just like above, He ignored the VE saying there was no jobs I could do. He gave me an RFC of "less than light work" yet said I could do fastfood or clerking. My doc gave me an RFC of "not capable of any job" because of a laundry list of serious back problems in all 3 areas of my back, pinched nerves, DDD, broken vertebrates ect., Grippo ignored that. This vile man denies people who clearly can't work anymore, doesn't care and laughs it off. There needs to be a petition to remove this heartless thug from his job.

Judges tend to be cold and uncaring when their decisions do not benefit us. Otherwise, we praise them and their professionalism. It is just human nature I guess. The bottom line is that the law is the law, whether we like it or not. The same happens when we get a traffic ticket, Damn cops, so cold & uncaring. The light was yellow, I swear. Judge Perez seemed professional to me. Perhaps because she ruled on my favor.

Potassium 1 tablet a day, (because of the Lasix I take for my congestive heart failure); Furosemide 20mg 1 tablet a day, (to prevent water retention around my heart); Lisinopril 20mg 1 tablet twice a day, (for heart function); Metoprolol 50mg 1 tablet twice a day (for blood pressure); Atorvastatin 40mg 1 a day, (for cholesterol); Metformin 500 mg twice a day, (to control diabetes); Tylenol with Codeine, 1 tablet every four hours, (for fibro myalgia and degenerative disc disorder pain); 81mg aspirin, 1 a day to prevent stroke and control heart); melanoma cancer and now breast cancer. Tremor in left arm with severe weakness. This is what I take on a daily basis and I'm not considered disabled? I worked two jobs my entire life and served eight years in the United States Navy some of which was during ODS, and this is what my government and you Judge Ferrar consider fair. There are so many people out there cheating our system and you denied me my benefits that I paid into all my life. Because the State of Illinois wouldn't give me Medicaid, because I didn't fulfill their criteria for coverage at the time and couldn't see a doctor, because I didn't have any money or insurance, you decided I wasn't disabled. Your decision Judge Ferrar was not right in my case and you know it. Go after the cheaters who lie and get disability and have never worked or fought for this country.

I understand that this could be taken as "this person got turned down and is upset". I am indeed upset, but it is because I was turned down for completely false reasons. So beware of this Judge. She will use anything she can against you. I thought my rep and I had everything in order. My T's crossed and I's dotted. I was wrong! This judge acted as if my PCP's RFC paperwork didn't exist because one minor thing was not in my medical history. My PCP supports the fact that I am disabled. I also have two other doctors that stated I had MDI's that met the SSA guidelines for disability. She uses things in your medical report that are autofill parts from specialists. Like my wrist Ortho's ROS form that I now know he doesn't fill out except for the reason HE is seeing you. That being my wrist. So he didn't fill out that I have fibromyalgia, severe headaches, back pain, weakness, etc. And that was used against me in the decision letter. Even though it was never asked about at the hearing. This judge seems to discriminate based on your age and medical condition(Still a lot of judges that refuse to see the conditions I have as real). Even though my MDI's are listed in the SSA guidelines she chose to not consider them. There are so many errors in her decision letter that my rep said it will take a while to list them all. So I guess that's a good thing. Problem is that I have been trying to get the disability I deserve for 4 1/2 years now. My family and I are financially ruined. The appeals council will take 14-18 more months per my rep and then if Federal suit is needed, another year or more. My family will be on the streets by then. The SSA system drains everything you have worked hard for in your life and drags the process out over way too many years. Just to be turned down by someone who doesn't follow guidelines and makes wild assumptions with no facts.

I was denied twice by Valente. I filed in Federal Court, got a new hearing without an attorney, got a new ALJ & got a Fully-Favorable decision. So much for fairness, impartiality & discrimination on Valente's part. I think, but may not be right, that Valente's father was a lawyer in Chicago & somehow finagled this job for her & they all moved to Seattle as who wants to live in Chicago with 20+ shootings a day. I wonder if she even has a law, medical or any other degree besides a high school diploma.

Pardo was very bias against me. Both in the video hearing and the final ruling that he gave. He misused information and only cherry picked words to fit what he wanted to say. He dismissed everything that MY doctors wrote and they had wrote plenty. He ONLY went by what the SSA doctor that they sent me to ONE time. He was outright unfair towards me. I have paid into the system for 25 plus years. Its not like I have never worked a day in my life.

I had a video hearing with Judge Valente, a few month's ago. I feel that she was respectful, compassionate and thorough. I'm a veteran and the widow of a veteran. My time in the Navy, the loss of my Husband and, the past 35 year's have all, finished me off, physically and mentally. There's no way I could hold down a job, but I'm not, financially making it. I pray that I get approved, and soon.

Obviously ALJ Laura Valente gets her medical knowledge from watching the DVR's of Dr. Phil & Dr. Oz. They just threw out her decision in my case for the third time in nine years. She has zero knowledge of mental disorders. Instead of doing a little research she thinks all she has to do is look at you & she can tell if you have anything wrong with you. They should put her in the criminal court system as she only takes ten seconds to arrive at a decision. The first time I walked into her court & before she turned on the recorder she said 'I can tell by looking at you that you are not depressed or suicidal. These ALJ's get their jobs by knowing someone or as a political favor. They don't get them based on intelligence or education.

Judge: Laura Valente
2/7/2014 5:17:16 AM

I got Judge Laura Valente for an SSD hearing a few months ago. She was an absolute monster in the courtroom - she disregarded every single piece of evidence that validated my disability to cherry pick what fit her motive to deny me. She was abusive, condescending, and did everything possible to pigeon hole me instead of looking at my case objectively. She attacked me for being a Medical Marijuana cardholder and asked several times how I could guarantee my medicine wasn't "Dipped in PCP". The court even refused to let my witnesses in, 3 of my family members who had come on my behalf because "there isn't enough room" in the small 2 person conference room they held the hearing in via video conference. There are even signs up in the lobby area where you wait, after you clear security, that says "No witnesses allowed in courtroom". Yet I received a letter saying I could bring any witnesses pertinent to my case - wouldn't you think my family, the people who take care of me and support me, would have something pertinent to say about my case? That is just the tip of the iceberg. Judge Valente is anything but objective and will do anything possible to attack you to make a case for denial. I will be submitting an ethics complaint through the Washington Commission on Judicial Conduct here shortly. Complaint forms are on their website and I highly suggest that if you have experienced what you believe to be misconduct by Judge Laura Valente that you report it. I went looking for help and all I got was beat up even more.

Judge: Myriam C Fernandez Rice
12/27/2013 6:16:16 PM

This judge made a terrible mistake in judging me incorrectly. She had numerous errors throughout the lengthy denial letter I received, regarding her supposed review of my medical records. She claimed I didn't have proof of several diagnosis' in my records when there was clear cut proof in these records. My third party who was supposed to testify at my hearing was not allowed to do so, and She made allegations in her letter about me that are downright descriminatory and false. She didn't ask me about several things during the hearing but then made statements in her letter accusing me of things she never gave me a chance to confirm or deny. She claims I am still able to work despite the fact I have become so ill that I can't keep up with my own personal hygiene let alone work. I haven't even been able to keep most of my appointments with several of my specialists because I have been too sick to drive myself to them. I have several diagnosis' on the adult list of disabling conditions, and I hope she sees this and knows that she was cruel and wrong about me, and my life has been completely destroyed because of her. I will most likely have to live on the street soon because she denied me benefits I have desperately needed. God help you if you have to have this judge in charge of your hearing. She is irresponsible and descriminatory and shouldn't be allowed to judge with her own personal opinions on a person. She is mean and will destroy your character if she doesn't like the look of you. That is what happened to me. She will destroy your life if she doesn't like you. This judge ruined my life that was already in the toilet from years of suffering from a rare illness.

Can I give negative stars? I was on a remand like no way. I found he/she described Valente very well. She threw out all evidence that helped me. There were two main things I feel that qualifies me & in both appearances she never ask me a single question about either one of them. She is arrogant & ignorant which is a bad combination for a judge. She said by looking at me she could tell I was not depressed or suicidal. That is a great talent. She also questioned one of my prescriptions saying no doctor would give me that drug in my condition. The prescription was out in my car. Every question she ask me she said I was a liar. The latest doctor report I turned in to the court Valente accused me of bribery or coercion of the doctor.

I live in Ohio & I had Judge Grippo for my video hearing. I was having a bad day on the day of my Hearing & therefor he ruled that my testomony was not "creditible" because it was "vague"! He also decided to ignore my Dr's report & my limitations, & instead he valued the report of the Dr that SS had sent me to! My attorney & I both agreed that some of his questions were totally out of line!!! He nit-picked my case to death, ignoring all suporting evidence & his decision of denial was extreamly prejudice!! I am very close to lossing everything including what is left of my mind!! This prejudice man has no compassion or empathy and should not be allowed to be a Judge!!!
