On my denial letter, Moore stated that he agreed with my testimony and my witness letter on everything, but denied my case based on WILLIAM JOSEPH DUBIN'S assessment, a man indicted for "Medicaid Fraud" along with his son!! I never even met William Joseph Dubin but he said since I was able "to make eye contact" and actually school smart, he disputed all my claims. Seriously, on God. I was denied based on "Eye Contact" based on a guy who never met me, and again, indicted for Medicaid fraud. As the judge, you should have actually believed in your own judgement. Not gone against what you "said" you believed to be true, to choose the opinion of someone indicted on using people's innocent unwell CHILDREN to commit "Medicaid Fraud" in Austin, TX. Seriously, Google it. Anyone in his position who uses children to commit fraud isn't well themselves and shouldn't be trusted to give an honest opinion on anyone else.

I choose to not rate this judge because he doesn't even deserve 1 star. This judge should be disbarred. He spoke to me in a condescending manner as if I was an *****. I am going on 40 but look younger. He had the nerve to ask me how old I was. My age has nothing to do with my illness. I had a bone scan and it showed I have Rheumatoid Arthritis in all of my joints and he didn't even acknowledge it. I also had both hips replaced due to a bone disease. I have severe pain all day so I take Morphine and Nucynta. He still said I can work. I am not supported to drive on the medications that I take. I think he doesn't bother to look at your medical records. HORRIBLE judge.

She was nice but she seemed passive aggressive. She did not seem to understand the extent of my issues and kinda joked around too much when I mentioned that I needed assistance with my children at times. It was hard to read her but it was also off putting when she did not let me mention my medications either. She said that alot of people are on medications and work...so lets not go there. I heard she was detailed and through...however in looking at her decision write up she was extremely judgmental and provided very humiliating reasons why she did not find me disabled. She found every one of my doctors not credible because they were military doctors and did not fill out paperwork to deem me unfit for a civilian job. She mentioned that a military job is harder than a civilian so I can adjust to a civilian job just fine. Military doctors and Veterans Affairs Providers are not in the business of telling you that you are unfit for any job whatsoever. They write their assessments and notes. I was stunned at her incompleteness and her lack of knowledge on my medical records. She even said that I never had a back X-ray but claimed back issues...I had an X-ray that was provided as evidence that diagnosed me with scoliosis. She was horrible. She said in her write-up that i was clean and wore accessories. Does that mean that I am devoid of any issues bc I am clean and wanted to wear my beads. I am stunned. Not that she disagreed with me...but that she was extremely judgmental and partially reviewed my records. She even wrote that i barely cried in any of my appointments. Really Judge? Really? It was disgusting. As a matter of fact it was noted many times that I was often tearful at my appointments. I am disappointing in this system and even more frustrated that it as been 5 years and I have already been to Federal Courts. Looks Like I will be going again. Thanks alot Judge Maley.

I was in front of judge Thomas Ray on November 4, 2016. I was so nervous, but when he came out and spoke to everyone, he made me feel comfortable. He asked me some questions, about my illnesse and made me feel like he cared. Before I went to the hearing, I had read all kind of horror stories about the judges. I don't know about anyother judge, but judge Ray is fair he listens to you, he is very respectful to you. So if you get judge Thomas Ray make sure you have all your medical documents in order and you will be fine. Thank you judge Ray for making me feel that I mattered.

Judge: Francine L Applewhite

I have known this Judge for several years now, first when she was in Baltimore and now that they are in DC. The only good thing about Judge Applewhite is that she appears to do few hearings. If you are unfortunate enough to be in front of her be aware of the following. 1) Judge Applewhite is extremely unprofessional both to attorney's and to claimants. When I first went in front of her when she was in Baltimore I in normal course waived reading of the issues. She completely lost her mind at this and started ranting that she was the Judge and she does not accept my waiver and then proceeded to go through the entire issue process. During my closing at that hearing I argued a listing and she again started ranting that she was the Judge and would decide if a listing was met. I told her I know that and this is just my argument during the closing. She did not seem to understand this and kept stating that SHE was the JUDGE and would decide the case not me. 2) Judge Applewhite does not understand the medical records. Her ignorance in this regard is startling. When arguing a listing in front of her (a fairly common listing at that) during a recent hearing, it was clear she did not understand the medical terms involved. At one point she misread an imaging study, and at another she stated that a listing required an extra element that it did not require. When I tried to explain the terms involved she told me to "move on" and that she "would not hear anymore on this matter." I wish this was an anomaly but it is pretty standard for her. It is not terribly uncommon for a Judge to not be medical experts on every issue, but to also refuse to hear an explanation of the existing medical documentation is absolutely ridiculous and something that so far has been unique to Judge Applewhite. 3) Judge Applewhite approves few cases. Statistically she is pretty low and from what I can tell she is one of those Judge's who actively dislikes representatives being in cases. The fact that Judge Applewhite is an ALJ is probably the strongest argument currently existing for a change up in ALJ accountability.

I feel so sorry for anyone who gets this judge. She denied me benefits in January of 2016. Her letter was full of things I never stated and a lot of lies. But I didn't give up. I went to Allsup advocacy group and guess what, they filed a new intiial claim and I just received my reward today! They listen to you and help you and I got through directly with the disability claim examiner reviewing my case and no more BS hearings. In my opinion these judges get a bonus check at the end of the year for every case they deny. Stay away from the judges and go through the Advocacy group for ease and without frustration. If you have been denied 4 times or more like I was, they will get you approved. Thanks Judge Mande for wasting my time!

Don't give up, We The People do have the power to make changes to corruption in our government. Many don't know that as a US citizen you have the right to have “ANY” US employee investigated for miss use of power by your Congressman. I am opening a Congressional CASE investigation into how I have been mistreated and discriminated against by the SSDI and Judge Michael Carr, I am also naming Carolyn W. Colvin Social Security Administration “ACTING” Commissioner of SSI for the entire country. All you have to do is look up who your Congressman is and ask for the form to file a Congressional investigation into your case. They are required by law to investigate your case and determine if your were treated unfairly. If we can get enough people to file and name the unfair Judges, we can get them removed from office, as well as the “ACTING” director who is not doing her job by getting rid of the bad apples on her own. In my case, I have a M.D, that has me listed as permanently disabled and my medical records state several conditions that qualify me for my benefits, as well and a PhD that filled out all the required SSDI forms needed to qualify me for my benefits and I am over the 55 year old age requirement for the lowest level of requirements for my benefits, yet Michael Carr took half a year after my hearing to let me know he knows more then the MD's and PhD's about my conditions. He also knew that my only hope for fair treatment would be to appeal to SSDI for a review. Well guess what, ALL appeals are sent back to Michael Carr's office in Falls Church, VA to just be turned down by Judge Carr and his friends in his own office! When this is brought to light by enough of us requesting Congressional investigations into this clearly corruptible practice, We The People can get these unfair Judges and the Carolyn W. Colvin the“ACTING” commissioner of SSI, removed form ever abusing their power at any government job again! I appealed to Her office when I learned of the corrupt policy of sending my case back to Michael Carr's own office just to be turned down and what I got instead of help from her office, was a immediate refusal to even review my case from Michael Carr's own office. ARE YOU WITH ME, it's WE THE PEOPLE TIME!! Please contact your Congressman TODAY! When WE THE PEOPLE start hundreds or thousands of Congressional investigations in to this corrupt system, things will change and quickly! God bless all who will fight, and He will fight for us too. Thanks

I worked for 40 years and paid my government over a million dollars in taxes. I could no longer work due to my disability's and ask for my benefits that I paid for over those 40 years so I could take care of my 80 year old mother, the widow of a Veteran and policeman. We were hungry and needed food, we were thirsty and needed to drink, so we came to Michael Carr and pleaded for help and he said depart from me. Now he and his family will face the same treatment he gave to us, as it is written in God's word: Mathew 25 / 31-46 “Then He will say to those on His left, Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, Then they (Michael Carr and his) also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me. And these (Michael Carr and his) will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” You and yours, please enjoy Hell, and I will be there with the Lord as a testament against you on that day, you cursed a Veteran and Policeman's widow and her children, now the curse is on you and all you care about, Lon Ross, I will be there on your day of judgment before the Lord.

I had my hearing on the 11th of May 2016. I felt as though Judge Long was very decent to me. She is a no nonsense Judge but very warm hearted. She gathered very good points and asked a bit of questions to be as clear as possible. Do not try to talk over her like the vocational expert tried to do, she is very big on respect, as any adult should be. I feel as though she makes no biased opinion, and feels out every case for which is brought to her. As long as you tell the truth, don't try to play the system, be a man or woman, have respect, and have serious issues not to waste her time, you will be fine. I liked her very much so. I see some people commented with rather rediculous comments. I think she was great to me. She heard every point of my case my Lawyer and I had to say, did not interrupt or rush us, was very polite, and warm hearted, very respectful to me and didn't make me feel terrible about what has happened to me in my life time due to my illnesses. I have nothing but good things to say about the Judge. Warning though, if you are someone who is just to lazy to work, and taking up valuable time for people like us who really need help, and are just trying to get over on the state, I hope you get her because she is a no nonsense Judge by far who does not like her time to be wasted. I can tell she hears alot of cases that I am sure are bogus. Let your medical records speak for themselves. Thank you for being so kind and concerned about my well-being Judge Long. I wish more people were like you in the world.

Judge Andrew Emerson presided over my hearing on March 2016. He was very professional to me and my attorney. He asked me clear, concise questions such as.." How do you spend day?" Why are you unable to work? How far can you walk? Etc..He allowed me to explain and finish my thoughts. He was never rude or condescending. The VE expert said a few words to the judge at the end of the hearing. Overall, this Judge made the experience much less scary. Thank you Judge Emerson...

The judge seemed incredibly fair, let me talk about my disability, pretty much ignored the ridiculous disability consultant. He asked some questions, and basically said "you are clearly disabled, I just wish I had a little more documentation from your psychiatrist". He had detailed records of monthly visits over ten years, wanted another letter that said I wasn't getting better to match one in my file. He gave me 15 days to get it, and he had it in 24 hours. Then he denied me. Denial had nothing to do with hearing. My lawyer was dismayed. Said he had never had a hearing go better. Couldn't figure out denial. Must be a game to guys like Ray.

I quit my job years ago to take care of my son and then came down with debilitating depression making it impossible to hold down a job. Its one thing to take care of a child and a whole new ball game to hold down a job. Any parent suffering from inability to concentrate, abnormally low energy, confusion and inability to understand the complex instructions of a typical workplace would understand this. Too bad this judge just blows that off and interrogates you with the presumption that if you can drive a car and meet your child's basic needs, then you can automatically hold down a job. Not so!!! You are presumed guilty (or being a scammer that can work) unless you can prove your innocence. No such thing as fair and impartial here. No presumption of innocence. I'm still to sick to work and it looks like I've lost my case and will have to wait several more years for an appeal, hopefully with a different judge.

I agree with the person commenting before me 100 percent! This judge is TRULY UNFAIR and should not hold this position. I know that I for one, DO NOT WANT TO BE CONSIDERED DISABLED! So when you have learned that you will most likely or definitely never be able to work again, IT'S DEVASTATING! A judge should be looking at all of the facts and medical evidence and making a sound decision. So we have to be a vegetable to get disability? Thanks for making me want to jump off a bridge. Very unfair judge. Looking for any indication of your life being remotely enjoyable as "evidence" that you are not disabled -- if you leave your house for anything other than doctors appointments, if you have gone on a trip, if you garden, if you have any hobbies, if you try to take exercise, if you play any games, if you socialize at all, etc., he deems you capable of working regardless of the advice of your doctors, regardless of whatever the vocational expert says about your employability, regardless of the fact that only people in persistent vegetative states can lie down all day and do absolutely nothing without going insane. Just look at his approval rating compared to other ALJ's -- some approve 60%, he denies 60%. Your best bet is to simply hope your case doesn't land in his lap. You will not get an actual fair hearing.

If I could give this judge 0 stars I would. She made up her mind before I even sat down. I had the worst attorney ever. Dont ever get one of those national attorneys. I couldnt get ahold of mine at all. On the day of my hearing I never heard back from my attorney as to wether or not he had got my medical records. I made the mistake of wearing my medical records in a backpack. The judge decided that because I could limp into her courtroom with a backpack on I wasnt disabled. I have a degenerative bone disease. After 8 surgeries I have no material in my shoulders or knee joint to work with. Also have PTSD, anxiety disorder, Bi polar depression, ADHD... I have been in mental health treatment my entire adult life. I spent 5 years in prison. She denied my claim. Never mentioned PTSD or other mental health issues. Wouldnt let me present my mental health records from prison. I begged this judge for mental health treatment and she spit in my face. I dont know what else Im supposed to do. This is one messed up decision. Judge Jennifer long told a man who had already been to prison for reckless endagerment that he had no mental issue. Its unreal

Judge Timothy C. Pace: I had my hearing in November of 2013, and like so many people its a very long journey just to get to this court date. My disability and filing started in 2009 and there was some mistakes made within the SSD that put me way behind for me getting my trail date. After, a second filing in early 2012 and now with an attorney I got my date set in the middle of November. I advise anyone who is thinking about getting a attorney, Make sure they are local and NOT a national firm with lawyers scattered all over the country. I spoke to my attorney over the phone 3 times, twice within days of my hiring and never met him until I walked into the court room. My biggest mistake in my life. I did 99% percent of the talking and the lawyer made mistake right from the start, so I took control quickly and finished up the hiring. I even request that his fees be lowered if I won, right there at the time of the meeting. This action was granted by Judge Pace. Why did I gave Judge Pace a FIVE STAR review? Its simple and its based on two things and nothing more. 1) I had to deliver over 500 pages of medical records to the court before my court date because of my attorneys law firms poor handling of my case. So, I had a few calls and face to face meeting with the office staff. The staff was super helpful and truly cared about me as a person and my case. So, the staff shares in this review and the 5 stars. 2) Judge Timothy C. Pace got his five star rating for simply listening to my store. He just listened and you could tell he cared about my journey to disability status. Again, he listened and in the end that's all you can ask of any person: Judge, Doctor, Husband/Wife or partner. I walked out of the hearing knowing that I had my day and what ever happens next happens good or bad. But, I know in my heart and mind that I was heard!

Judge Deborah Mande listened very carefully to my case, She made me feel very comfortable in a stressful situation, and I believe, followed the law. I did prevail, so am a little biased, but she was fair, observant and professional.

No idea what his problem is, he hates everyone and obviously hates his job. The real life Scrooge. Pathetic, screams at everyone. Hearing reporter, representative, claimant, just miserable! NOTE: He's actually somewhat favorable relative to other ALJs, just know the record and don't let him fluster you!

Judge: John A Thawley

Judge Thawley seems friendly but is the most nasty white devil I had evers Know. This heathen judge did his very best to provoke me to angry. The question he asked was smart questions, his ***** Melisa Stewart laugh at all of his negative questions adress to me.Then the devil used two doctors advice i had never seen before. Mr. Devil went back 10 years on my first injury to take my doctors advice, which is totally stupid. He honesty stated in his decision he didn't believe my doctors because both was African American, where in the world did this heathen come from. Judge heathen read all my notes which are medical evidience that are in my favor and he twisted the truth. My stundent loans are discharge and the same note the heathen have so does the United States of education. Therefore the US government verify I have a disability issue but not the Judge. If I could sue this Judge for not understanding his job i would.

Judge Pankow dismissed the majority of 6 years of medical evidence submitted by 5 different licensed professionals in the Health Care Field. This judge was biased, unfair, and is creating injustice in the court system. The United States of America, Please review this official's agenda and moral standards of Justice.

Judge Maley is consistently polite and respectful of even the most difficult, discourteous claimants. She displays compassion and fairness. As an attorney practicing before her, I am more than impressed with her judicial demeanor and wish more judges were like her.

Judge Thawley seems friendly enough but after he issued an opinion that said I was disabled he then stated that the claim was denied. It made no sense and I truly have been disabled. Now I have to worry about homelessness. But since I am a White and American I should expect this punishment.

Judge: Thomas M Ray
12/11/2012 12:08:08 AM

By far, the fairest and most impartial judge I have had the pleasure of meeting. He has the fastest turn around with getting decisions back to claimants. And he is exceptionally thorough before, during, and after the hearing. Even though he's heard thousands of cases, he treats each person like an individual and makes them feel heard.

She's wonderful. I like her a lot. A great addition to the Baltimore Hearing Office.

Judge: Eugene Bond

Nasty, Nasty, Nasty. Takes pleasure in proving to everyone that he can belittle and get the upper hand on disabled claimants who unfortunately are not as educated as he. Ignores evidence that is not consistent with how he thinks the case should be resolved even where there is no evidence to support his prejudged resolution. Fortunately, the Appeals Council reverses him quite often. You have to wonder why someone with so little compassion for those less fortunate than he has the position he holds.

Judge: Christine P Benagh
12/4/2012 1:27:17 PM

Judge Benagh is an excellent Judge. She reads the record before the hearing so she is prepared, does not waste anyone's time and hones in on what truly is at issue. She also has compassion for the claimants before her. By this, I don't mean that she doles out unwarranted benefits, but what she does do is treat the claimants with respect and dignity. This is important because many claimants are homeless or live in shelters and are shunned or ignored by most people they come into contact with. When claimants appear before Judge Benagh, they have an opportunity to meet with someone who will listen to what they have to say, take them seriously and empathize with their situation. Even if they don't win, they come away feeling better about themselves and about the adminstrative process. This is the way a judge dealing with hardship benefits should act in carrying out her/his duties.

Judge: G. B Arthur

Condescending; has no concern for rules of procedures or due process. Sends claimants out of the room during expert testimony. He is also cold hearted yet tries to appear otherwise by projecting an avuncular veneer. Apparently, the person commenting above got fooled by this facade.

ALJ Maley is fabulous!!! She produces well above the average number of decisions, holds thorough hearings, issues well-written decisions, and has very few remands. She is also great fun as a colleague and coworker. She is very serious about her work but has a lovely, bubbly personality and a great sense of humor. Despite the relatively recent tragedy in her life, she remains upbeat and positive. I admire her greatly.

I think the web site is helpful and has provided me with great information as to this ALJ's behavior. If you are not a fan of the web site a simple solution is not to go view the web site.

Having been in quite a few hearings with Judge Maley, I found her to be whip-smart, efficient, and totally professional. She is also compassionate, fair, and very attractive. LOL. I have heard her thanked and complimented by claimants, attorneys, and experts for the way she presides over hearings. You rock, Judge Maley.

My rating of Judge Bond is excellent. During my appeal review hearing held on 4/24/2012, Judge Bond met with me and my legal representative. I found Judge Bond to be very open and honest about how the proceedings would go. His years of experience as a ALJ was evident in his "Notice of Decision - Fully Favorable" decision, it lets me know that the judge carefully reviewed my file. I am writing thru this median to see if I can seek his assistance once again.I have ran into some difficulty as the Social Security Administration has yet to reward me any of my past-due benefits.I don't know where else to turn in seeking help to being made whole based on the judges' favorable decision. I have asked the processing of my claim is expedited under dire need, as I am facing evication from my current home. I don't know if this message will reach the Judge in time to see or have someone investigate why I have not been given access to my past-due benefits. So who ever reads this please forward my concerns to the judge, as I am in dire need of the benefits. Thanks for your time and attention!!!!

Whether it is sincere or not, Judge Arthur treats claimants at hearing with compassion, and representatives professionally, which should be standard throughout the country, yet unfortunately is not. Undoubtedly, this judge has seen his share of weak, and probably frivolous claims, but he does not generalize and mistreat people at hearing. Win or lose in front of Judge Arthur, you will be treated with decency and respect.
