I love love love this Judge he is polite, kind, understanding, not judgemental at all and very down to earth.definitely the kind of person I would want to go to his house for Christmas and spend time with his family seems like he's a very well-rounded family-oriented type of man. All American and all and great personality. I enjoyed my interview with him although I do not know what his decision will inevitably be in my case so far he's my favorite judge.

I am an attorney who represents a fair number of disability claimants. If you are coming to this site to find out more about an administrative law judge, I want to share some things with you so that you have some perspective while reading all these comments. Your case is unique. While there are common case types and situations that are regularly before the ALJs, the system works at not being an assembly line and looking at all the facts and circumstances. My opinion is that the majority of the time the system eventually works for most claimants. There is still a significant minority of cases where it does not. I get contacted by a lot of people who have lost their case at the ALJ level. They feel like a lot of people on this board felt after being denied. I review their written decision and talk to them in detail. The majority of the time the ALJ made the right decision. So what went wrong? It's usually one or more of the following things. (1) Well meaning doctors, government/nonprofit social workers and other well meaning individuals encouraged them to apply without fully understanding the disability programs (2) they went into the hearing not knowing or understanding both the strengths and potential weaknesses of their case (3) they didn't see the right type of doctors, get all the tests needed, and/or try all the possible treatment options out there. When I talk to these individuals the most common thing I here is "Well nobody told me that. I wish I knew that back then." So is the judge the reason you lost? Maybe. Maybe not.. Every case is different. Did you lose for other reasons instead or other reasons as well? Probably.

He looked at all of my medical records showing him that I'm mentally incapable of working. The vocational expert said there was nothing I could do and I just called my letter saying I was denied. Is he insane? Reading all of these comments he must be!

Judge Nathan Brown is a total joke and doesn't deserve to be a judge..I went in front of him and he denied me.My doctor gave me total disable butthe to this joker it didn't matter..I'm wanting to find out why he denied me..But you can assure yourself that I'll appeal this jokers decision..

This Judge is Misleading , and dishonest plays the game well and is hurtful in my opinion to society. If the system is truly broke, you might want to start with her in considering why this is. Integrity is missing, Cruelty is verified , A none independent thinker and irrational in her decision making. (poster child for +++) if you would like to witness Orwell 1984 go listen to a disembodied VE, over a phone while trying to keep your head up to stare at a TV to communicate with this Judge, That alone should tell you how much of a criminal everyone looks like in the eyes of our GOV. It is a Humiliating and repugnant experience to be dragged in front of a hearing disabled only to be Harmed with a denial and being called a liar by someone who expressed the cruelty , and carelessness of the beast system well. Pray for our Country.. I mean it, because praying for just the people is not enough.

Judge: H. Munday

This judge should be impeached. She made a disparaging comment about my disability before the hearing started. She made up facts, told me she would not answer any questions, told me she didn't have time to listen to my case. I asked her how long I had and she refused to answer. Additionally, there were 20 missing exhibits. I told her and she ignored it. I copied my appeal to my congressman, the IG for investigation, the general council as well as the Commissioner of the Agency. The hearing was a mockery of due process and the judge's behavior unconscionable.

Judge Fulcher is low key in hearings. So low key in fact he is almost robotic. Never changes his facial expressions. You'll never know if you're winning or losing in there. You'll probably lose. One of the toughest judges in Orlando. Prepare your case for appeal at the hearing.

i wonder how many suicides there have been after her unfair ruling regarding a mental disability! Not sure which was worse, her or the lawyer, Shawn Taylor. Don't even think of hiring him! He does nothing in regards to preparing you for your hearing and, it's nearly impossible to get ahold of him through the phone!

Judge: Jerry Meade
5/18/2019 8:28:59 PM

He seemed very polite and professional during my hearing, but I was astounded to find that when I received his decision, he had decided that I do not suffer from ischemic heart disease, although I have medical records recording both my previous heart attacks and 8 stents, major depressive episodes and debilitating anxiety, degenerative disc disease, a cracked spine and fibromyalgia. I was at a loss. What more could I tell these judges that I have not told them over the previous years? My health and stamina continue to decline, but I am just done. I feel like Judge Meade and his predecessors have told me I am just not worth it, that I am a ******* ***** ** **** with no hope. I just will not go through the humiliation again. It is a dehumanizing experience, and at this point, since I cannot keep gainful employment, I feel it would just be better for everyone if I just went away for good.

Judge: John W Rolph
9/24/2018 8:29:12 AM

It's true, the Honorable John W. Rolph is very polite, respectful and courteous. He denied my case, but I don't blame him because he didn't receive all my medical evidence in time. Out of 22 doctor's, my Attorney left out 8 doctor's, 3 of which were critical. I waited 3 years and now I have to appeal to the Appeals Council, which will take up to 2 years for them to give a decision. One specialist lied to SSA. Judge Roplh gave "light weight" to my Orthepedic Surgeon report. Judge Rolph didn't know at the time of my Hearing that my Orthopedic Surgeon referred me to a Neurologist. This Neurologist stated that I needed neck surgery. This Neurologist referred me to another Neurologist. This 2nd Neurologist stated (after a nerve test) that my neck was causing shoulder, arm, and finger numbness. What I can't comprehend is that I have emails to my Attorney regarding all the Dr's left out of my Hearing. There's a lot more to this devastating story.😔

Lazy arrogant biased judge rolph, ss admin. received my document work restrictions from my treating physician because I called them and it was verified received over phone. which he totally neglected to include in his report that denied me which he incorrectly determined my medium rfc with cartilage loss in both knees. He didn't budge on my rfc, Just lazy because he's just passing my case on to cause more work backlog for ssa i received unfavorable decision because he was too lazy to include my teating physicians work restrictions letter that said no climbing ladders because I have more than 50% cartilage loss in both knees I experience excruciating 10 level knee pain when I try to climb ladders. His report puts me in harm's way saying I can climb ladders too dangerous, if i file appeal he will have to consider new evidence findings osteoarthritis of si joint plus he has to include my treating physicians work restrictions.

Got my unfavourable decision letter today and I'm so filled with mix emotions. I suffer from axiety, depression, and alot of post matic stress, though I am a mother of 3 young school aged children, I guess to SSD these symptoms do not meet their standards, one because I've never committed myself to a hospital, letters from family, friends, and psychiatrist was not good enough , letter said weighed very little . What gets me is I have always worked, it's not that I decided I'm gonna quite my job and live off SS was never my plan, but when you suffer from these issues that are uncontrollable at times it's hard to be in society alot. One thing that was mentioned because I was asked is if I used social media ? Who doesn't? That was used against me. I have social anxiety, panic attacks and it effects me even though I'm being treated for it. One thing that was mentioned was I continue to say I have systoms but still refill my prescriptions on a regular basis? Am I not supposed too? There was a note in there I appeared sloppy. I'm confused, but yet I was alert and made eye contact, was I not supposed to at my hearing? I don't do drugs, I don't drink, I don't party, yet I see so many people get approved for addictions. Well mental health is a disease as well, which many abuse their medicine. I'm trying to do right by seeing a psychiatrist and a therapist and take my medication as directed and I'm punished for it. The only thing I guess I can do is appeal it and hope someone sees me through a different pair of eyes and compassion. She apparently did not. I felt she was nice and professional, good luck to anyone who may get her for a judge in my opinion she is not very compassionate.

Judge: Thaddeus J Hess
8/24/2018 10:20:07 AM

Judge Hess has gotten worse. He used to be a pretty decent ALJ but now he's turning down cases he wouldn't have thought twice about when he was in Charlotte. Maybe it's government targets but it's no coincidence that Greenville judges average 42% denial rate. There's no spread there at all and I guess it's the same all over. Hess has opted not to rock the boat and deny righteous cases to keep his average up. Shame on him.

Judge: Eric S. Fulcher
7/31/2018 11:40:28 AM

I finally made it to the ALJ Hearing, and felt hopeful that I'd have a favorable decision. I had a diagnosis of my mental health disabilities from several doctors, and an extensive report from my psychiatrist stating that I am unable to work. I follow through with my therapy, and medications, and go to my appointments twice a week. I'm battling as hard as I can! I have no other income other than child support, and have been unable to work for three years. All of the guidelines for SSI are covered, and I was still turned down! I've only recently felt less suicidal ideation, and today was the first day in weeks that it started making sense to me again. I hope I have the strength to appeal this huge mess Mr. Fulcher made out of my life. I clearly should be receiving benefits, and if I can't continue to fight PTSD, GAD, & Major Depression along with poverty, he will be the one to blame.

I went before Judge Wolfe this morning. I had no legal representation, and she did give me the option of postponing the hearing until October of this year. I waived my right to representation, for a couple of reasons. I did not want to drag the process on any further, and I cannot afford an attorney. After reading the above posts about this judge, I’m sorry that some of the folks felt she was unfair. My hearing was scheduled for 11:00am and I was taken in at 10:30. She allowed me to enter notes from two specialists I am currently seeing, as well as a list of medication I am taking. I thought she was very professional and fair; as was the vocational expert, Ms. Doherty. If people thought Judge Wolfe wasn’t fair, maybe it was because she said things people did not like or did not want to hear.

I do believe people have fabricated their story to receive disability benefits I have seen it for myself I have seen a lady who received benefits for obesity I once lived on a street where many people were receiving disability benefits and working on the side and they live very very well now you have my husband a veteran a correctional officer and a police officer and a person who would do almost anything for for anyone he was born with diabetes and at the age of 54 it has taken a toll on both mind and body his disease is attacking his nervous system to a point where sometimes I don't recognize him I have been with my husband for 24 years so I know everything about him he is not the same man mostly because judge Wolf's decision judge you must understand when you worry about your statistics you're slowly killing my husband I have seen my husband with such anxiety and depression to the point where I was worried he was going to kill himself and I still worry today I am now supporting my family my son quit college because he can't be left alone when he was alone his sugar would drop and blind him he has fallen several times he now has more injuries than he had before the sad part is his income came to a halt and we are just about making it he believes it's his fault that's what you did to him I believe in the justice system Department I just don't believe you do your job well enough to know what you're doing to him he is he is a Broken Man yes his illness is bad but your decision is killing him I just don't know how you sleep at night knowing your decision is so important to my husband my husband's health I believe you pushed him over the edge sometimes he just stares out of space he has tried to work around the house but his attacks are so bad that it puts him out of commission for a week I just want you to know you ruined my husband's life I believe because of your decision these for years without his hancom has been very hard we had a wonderful life to have it destroyed with your decision we may lose everything thank you for nothing what keeps me going today is that I believe in karma I hope this post helps you to believe that there are many people who are disabled and can't do it please remember when you make your decision make sure it's the right one you don't want to be the reason people kill themselves and just one more thing my husband is a college-educated person those meaningless jobs you were offering my husband was very demeaning try to put yourself in their position bagging groceries with an education like his I hope this never happens to you you're having your education and being offered a grocery bagger thank you for reading my post and I hope it helps you to make better decisions at your job or switch to another one one you can do without hurting anyone

As other person stated gets annoyed very easily. Applicants used to get a fair shake with him. Recently that has changed. His track history with him in West Virginia is biasing his thought process. Very misleading judge and relies on office staff to make decision. Does not view all evidence only the ones they chose to. Luckily Appeals Council is aware of this behavior as they remanded the case as his office did not use most recent supported evidence. Time for this judge to retire and call it a career.

Judge: John T Molleur

Judge Molleur denied my case. I had lumber fusion of the l4,l5, S1 with all of my attending physicians writing that I am unable to work. Even the Dr that sits in the hearing stated on record that hypothetically he cannot do any work of any type. I was in severe pain and and was unable to sit while the hearing was going on. However the Judge still denied me. How unfair the people that need it can't get it.

I felt the need to post a review after reading the unfair and mischaracterized reviews of Judge Wolfe. I have appeared before her many times as an attorney representing people applying for disability benefits. She has ruled for my clients and against my clients so I feel like I am in a position to evaluate her consistency and fairness. What people reading her reviews need to realize is that she is always extremely well-prepared for hearings and expects the same of the attorneys and claimants who appear before her. She asks tough questions, notices details about claimant's behavior and testimony and reviews physician and expert reports carefully. She knows the guidelines that one must meet to qualify for disability. I understand the frustration of people who do not receive benefits (and have felt this frustration on behalf of some of my clients) but I have always felt that she is very fair and consistent. She is dedicated to being a fair judge.

Judge: H. Munday
9/8/2017 8:39:34 AM

This ALJ is purely psychotic. She is rude, aggressive, disrespectful, insensitive, and plainly behaves like someone with a profound mental disorder. From her early approval rates, it appears she was sent off for retraining by the SSA and post retraining her approval rate fell sharply. Given her start in WV and subsequent move to VA, it is also possible she was transferred from WV, due to her psychotic behavior, and placed in Charlottesville. Often, the SSA will not dismiss problematic ALJs but transfer them to a different ODAR. All SSA claimants who are treated rude and disrespectfully by ALJ Munday should be encouraged to file a complaint with Appeal's Counsel, the Office of General Council, and their local representative.

It's isn't any wonder why people get divorced, or just live together had I been a liar or deadbeat looking for a hand out they would approved me the first Time I will not lie to get what I paid in to get being I can't work. It's no wonder there more and more people not working it doesn't pay to work because the non working person always gets approved for SSI the working person always gets denied

Calm and patient Judge. Seems very kind. Quite thorough in her questions so Attorney is left with little to follow-up on. Process goes smoothly and seamlessly.

Judge: Sabrina M Tilley
4/26/2017 3:28:47 PM

Judge Tilley is not a fair judge at all. I don't know why she denies medical opinions or twists testimony. She takes bits and pieces of your testimony out of context of the whole statement. She stated that the voc. rehab. Lady said I could do three jobs. That is a lie. Tilley shot down two of the three jobs herself, and my lawyer got her ( the rehab lady ) to agree I could not do the third. She used against me that I went to church twice a week. The whole statement was that I did go twice a week but had to leave when crowds gathered because of anxiety. This judge just picks and chooses who she wants to give disability to. She said there was only an x ray that showed normal findings, but did not include the MRI that showed significant damage. She picks what suits her argument to turn you down. My attorney was in total shock and is appealing the ruling.

I had a court date 1-10-2017 in front of judge Flottman, she was very kind and ask questions concerning my disabilities, I learned her decision is in editing writing as of last week and this week waiting for her to sign then it will be mailed out. Please keep me in your prays for a fully favorable. God Bless

My husband sees Judge Wolfe Tuesday. He and I are not at all worried with a wrongful decision, even if in his favor or not. I feel like all these negative comments are from bitter people who really did not have a solid case. My husband is 56 y/o and is truly disabled. He has worked and paid taxes since he was 16 y/o. Can all these people who posted nasty comments on here say this??? I am going to go with NO. With multiple knee surgeries and a replacement and more than several hand surgeries and other medical issues I am sure the Judge will be more than fair AGAIN even in his favor or not. I would love for anyone to try and work with the pubic especially the ones who feel they are entitled to whatever they can get their hands on and live off the system for their whole life. SO TIRED of paying MY taxes and seeing that happen!

Judge: Jerry Meade
3/30/2017 1:38:05 PM

Lies out his wazoo to "support his findings." I have been diagnosed for the past 5 years with PTSD, major depression, severe anxiety, short term memory loss and sleep disorder and 11 years with seizures and 3 lesions back right side of my brain (3 different doctors in 3 different states multiple MRIs). Meade claimed that there was no record of sleep disorder or medication in my file, yet I've been on Ambien 10mg for 5 years along with other nerve medications and no evidence of "claimant's supposed lesions." He claimed that my mental reports showed "easy communication and relaxed mood" but conveniently left out the multiple times I've been admitted to psych wards and crisis units.

I am yet another person who was turned down for disability. I have and took to the court a stack od medical files 6 inches think. I have neuropathy in both feet from 4 foot surgeries, fibromayalga, auto-immune hepatitis that I will have for the rest of my life, and have to take medication for it.I have been depressed for a few years now since I was diagnosed with the auto immune this disease has bitterly stolen my life.I have oseoarthrits in both feet and in both knees I have to have 2 knee replacement in april. I have Chronic liver disease for the rest of my life through no fault of my own. I don't drink or smoke.Yhis judge was very unsympathetic to my disability I looked at the numbers of cases that he approves/disaproves and they are higher in huntington wv than any where else the minute he asked me if I went to church, and I said no ,I had a gut feeling he would deny it and I told my lawyer when we walked out of the hearing. I am an american citizen. I have worked all my life raised 3 children on my own, Each of my children are college graduates and contributors to society. I f this was your money that you paid to SS all your life and you become disabled through no fault of your own,and you had a passel of Drs. reports to back you up how would you feel, someone need to check on HIM.

Judge: Michelle Wolfe
1/30/2017 4:49:07 AM

Why hasn't Michelle Wolf been red flagged for her blatantly unjust denial rates? Her pay scale climbs enormously while veterans, stage four cancer patients, and countless other legitamite claims are denied by the stroke of her pen. A growing number of victims of the conscience severed judges who deny claims is growing. Rubber stamped denials are a pathetic reality in the Luzerne County Swamp. Granted, there are false claims presented, but a viral number of denied justifiable claims should be thoroughly investigated. After all, it's you, the American disabled funds.

As others have said, she cherry-picks information and twists it. She also completely disregarded everything my current doctor said (and all the records she had sent), and even implied some really hurtful and completely untrue things in an underhanded, snide way in her findings report. She basically called me a liar, when everything I said was the truth! A ********, corrupt *********. I hope she **** a ******** *****.

Judge: Jack Penca
1/5/2017 12:52:20 AM

If I could award negative points I would. This man is a horrible example of what our justice system represents and is meant to achieve. Judge Peneca clearly failed at his job. He neglected to even address 4 of my major diseases and illnesses and, neglecting his oath to uphold the law and do everything to seek the truth. I had nearly 5,000 pages of records entered into evidence dated early 14' to 10/16', My hearing was early November and the judge ONLY talked about records from 2014 not even mentioning a test I had had 10 days prior to my hearing confirming the severity is my illness. This man clearly does not care about people and their quality of life and, it is clear that he has no problems perpetrating miscarriages of Justice. I now have to wait another 1 to 2 years in dire poverty hoping for another appeal and possibly have to see this man again. I will be doing everything in my power to see this through to the end and make sure that this man is held accountable and has to do his job.

All I can say about Judge John T Molleur is he is fair. I was told by my own attorney he was mean and all that but I didn't feel any hostility from him at all, he let me explain my situation no matter how long I took. I had my hearing on 8 Sept 2016 and was told my case was approved on 10 Nov 2016. Now just waiting on my letter and back pay. The thing he wanted was me to change my onset date which I totally approved of, so I have nothing negative to say about him, he asked what he's required to ask but obviously he agreed with me. The Vocational expert did say there was no job for me to do as well, I guess that helped but I haven't gotten my package yet.

Judge: Michelle Wolfe

The allowance rate on the initial claim is 30 % and less than 5% on the Reconsideration but the allowance rate with the Judges is 44% so your best chance is with the ALJ. The key to getting approved is be prepared. You need a Rep that is interested in your case and SSA is not just a sideline. You and YOUR Rep need to Know the requirements for entitlement : the decision is based on age, education, vocational background and your DISABILITY. The judges in the Tupelo office are good judges I have always found Judge Sartor to be respectfully to me and the Claimant. She, as well as the other Judges, will try to give you the benefit of doubt but they cannot approve your disability if you do not have medical evidence to support YOUR Case- SSA will tell you that you must prove that you are disabled. No i have not won all my cases with her or the others but when the Hearing was over I knew and the Claimant knew that the decision would be fair and based on the evidence. This is the best shot at approval that you got so get a GOOD REP and be prepared.

This judge is a thorough and dispassionate lady. She expects representatives to know the file and to have all evidence in the record in advance of a hearing unless you have a very good reason why there is a delay. If you believe a consultative exam should be scheduled, move for same a few months before a hearing. This judge is conservative.

This judge is a very dispassionate yet thorough lady. She is conservative. She expects representatives to have all medical and other evidence in the record before a hearing unless you have very good cause why the evidence is not already in the record. If you think a consultative exam is in order, make a motion a couple months before a hearing for same. Don't wait.

Judge: Robert B Bowling
7/20/2016 3:05:36 PM

I really feel as if this Judge should be investigated. There is no way a ALJ should have statistics that read 1,842 cases, 1,550 decesions, 1,116 denials, and 434 approved. For the Fisical year as of 05/19/16, this judge has a 20% approval rating, and 63% Denied, 17% dismissed. Numbers don't lie. Due to incurable illness and you are in a wheelchair, receiving home health 3- 5 days a week, a service dog for PTSD, can't grip or hold items well anymore, but I was given unfavorable decision..especially when there is more than enough evidence to support it. Not being able to work for almost 3 yrs, and yet you still are given an Unfavorable Decision..Seriously?? Than your lawyer calls to ask if you want to appeal or start over...You should not have to fight so hard to get disabiltiy if you truly are deserving of it, and especially when you worked the last 25 yrs previous to your diagnosis. This is ridiculous!!

It is my opinion that the administrative law judges for the SSA are not always, if at all, neutral in the decisions they make on disability claims. It would appear, from what I have found out, that if you want to be approved to receive your disability, you cannot be an honestly disabled person who used to be a full-time, hard-working employee! You have to be an alcoholic, drug addict or a very talented actor! It is my opinion that they make their decisions with prejudice, and they, depending on which law judge you get, do not always consider the opinions of the medical professionals, or the rehabilitation counselors! I believe that they look at a claimant and if they look healthy and able to work, they totally disregard the medical and/or mental opinions given to SSA! Just because a claimant looks healthy and able to work does not mean anything, because they could be living with constant and chronic pain every day of their lives. I do not believe, from what I know of Ms. Tilley, that she gives fair assessment to the medical opinions and assessments of professionals! I'm wondering what is her reasoning for her negative decisions? I'm not giving my name because my son is totally disabled from his neck down to his toes from injuries, surgeries and birth defects, but was recently denied benefits because he, in her opinion, could do a job sitting down, even though the rehab counselor said "no" to that question when she put the question to him! I feel that she had no legal standing to overrule his professional opinion, as well as all of the recommendations made to SSA by his medical doctors! I wonder how many other times she has made wrong decisions like this one, and why?

Judge: Myriam C Fernandez Rice
4/25/2016 2:20:49 PM

I understand that this could be taken as "this person got turned down and is upset". I am indeed upset, but it is because I was turned down for completely false reasons. So beware of this Judge. She will use anything she can against you. I thought my rep and I had everything in order. My T's crossed and I's dotted. I was wrong! This judge acted as if my PCP's RFC paperwork didn't exist because one minor thing was not in my medical history. My PCP supports the fact that I am disabled. I also have two other doctors that stated I had MDI's that met the SSA guidelines for disability. She uses things in your medical report that are autofill parts from specialists. Like my wrist Ortho's ROS form that I now know he doesn't fill out except for the reason HE is seeing you. That being my wrist. So he didn't fill out that I have fibromyalgia, severe headaches, back pain, weakness, etc. And that was used against me in the decision letter. Even though it was never asked about at the hearing. This judge seems to discriminate based on your age and medical condition(Still a lot of judges that refuse to see the conditions I have as real). Even though my MDI's are listed in the SSA guidelines she chose to not consider them. There are so many errors in her decision letter that my rep said it will take a while to list them all. So I guess that's a good thing. Problem is that I have been trying to get the disability I deserve for 4 1/2 years now. My family and I are financially ruined. The appeals council will take 14-18 more months per my rep and then if Federal suit is needed, another year or more. My family will be on the streets by then. The SSA system drains everything you have worked hard for in your life and drags the process out over way too many years. Just to be turned down by someone who doesn't follow guidelines and makes wild assumptions with no facts.

i was told how "fair this judge is" i actually felt like that may be true..until the day we met. he heard my son's case, with OBVIOUS bias. we were unrepresented, but had very good evidence. several providers didn't think we needed an attorney, because it is so clear that my son is disabled. from the very first question, i knew we were in trouble. this judge clearly believed that my son had concocted this idea, to what"get rich quick"? by social security?? his mind was made up before our hearing, and what he based that decision on, i have absolutely no idea. it certainly was not, evidence, or law!!! i have NOW retained an attorney for my son. it is a shame that this has become the racket that it has. i only fear i have wasted precious time that my son DOES NOT HAVE!!!!

I sincerely feel bad for the other reviewer and hope that he/she has been approved or better yet, healed, I had a different experience. I am a 38 year old male with MRI's that show bad arthritis in multiple places, tile table was positive for severe orthostatic hypotension. BUT, the rest of my illness is an "invisible illness". I did not exaggerate anything, if anything I under-played my illness (stupid pride). Judge Wexler listened to everything I had to say and appeared attentive to my complex issues. I'm not yet sure if she ruled fully or partially favorable, I just received notice from my local SSA, not yet from ODAR. No matter what her decision, I believe she ruled fairly in my case at least. Now, I need to work on getting more tests and trying to find treatment that works so I can get OFF disability! I take off a star on the assumption that the previous commenter was indeed denied based SOLELY on ability to drive.

A claimant with end stage cancer was denied benefits by Judge Wolfe. A blood clot in the cancerous organ came loose and caused a stroke, killing the claimant. The records were in order for the Judge to find the claimant disabled at step 3 or step 5. She chose otherwise. The case is now on appeal. In a year or so, perhaps never, the case will be remanded. One thing is certain, a deserving claimant was denied benefits. Remember Judge Wolfe every time you hear about the "billion dollar judges" awarding benefits and fraudulentt disability claims. As with most things, there are two sides to every story. Since this side of the story is not as glamorous, it doesn't get told.

this judge should only have - stars to evaluate his judicial worthiness, You sir are completely heartless and uncaring. I watch my dear friend suffer agonizing, unrelenting and unimaginable pain on a daily basis as she was unfortunate enough to develop reflex sympathetic dystrophy along with other disabling ailments, yet you in your infinite wisdom and understanding of social security law and rules state that although her impairments are severe and affect her ability to perform work related activity you can still find reason not to award her deserving and much needed benefits. How can that be?????

Judge: Michelle Wolfe
10/21/2014 8:49:06 AM

Michelle wolf should be investigated to see if she gets paid to deny real people with real disabilities. I had my hearing with her mind you i am already 100 percent total and permanent form the military. She refused to look at all the evidence. She even dismissed social security's own doctors who evaluated me and the voc rehab lady who said i could do no work. I feel since i get va compensation she was biased against me in the first place in hearing for 2 hours she did not ask much questions. How can a judge not take into consideration their own evaluators? plus 900 pages of medical notes. someone should question why she has a 17% percent approval rate the lowest rating for ssa judges in the entire country. does she think everyone is trying to screw the system? we are all not lying burdens on society. we have real medical and psychological problems. The docs says low tress and no interaction with people so how can i work? docs say must be able to take breaks when needed and may miss up to 4 days of work a week even voc rehab lady said part time sedentary work copy machine operator really? claims jobs open for this in pa 425 where i checked unemployment and Google jobs none in this job description. She refused any rebuttal and request for information from my attorneys.... her words were i dont have too give it to you....she picked what she wanted out of my records and twisted it around and claimed i had not gone to docs in 3 years but i have my records to prove otherwise....have to file appeal to council and file complaint against her with ssa.

Because Michelle Wolfe IGNORES medical evidence I have been penniless for 4 years, and now have no medical coverage because my 66 year old husband lost his job and my health insurance. As an UNPAID disabled American I can not afford Obama Care, and slip through the cracks and do not qualify for medicaid. Does Michelle Wolfe go to work with a tumor in her leg? Does she have 2 plates in her neck and require more surgery? Does she have psoriatic arthritis and an allergy to anti-inflammatories? Does she live with chronic pain and wear a fentanyl patch? Does she have medical coverage, and can she get the medical attention she needs? A very calloused individual would ignore scientific proof and facts just to keep her denial numbers high. An unfair, unjust person. Another corrupt judge in Luzerne County. How does she sleep at night?

I have to say when I read previous comments about Judge Meade it increased my anxiety before my hearing. I am a nurse of 30 years and was forced out of my profession due to my health issues. I had always been taught to make your own way in life and that no one owed you anything. This made it very hard for me to give in to my health issues and apply for disability. However, it got to the point where I no longer had a choice. Judge Meade made my experience with this humiliating process as easy as he could. He treated me with dignity and respect. I will forever be grateful to him and pray that God gives him the insight he needs to make these life altering decisions for others in the future.

Does not review medical records or diagnostic tests. On 3 instances in Mr. Hess's denial, he stated for each impairment, there were no medical records, findings or lab results backing claimants impairment thus the claimant is not credible. Yet, within the records, even the ones Mr. Hess had ( copies submitted to me by SSA ), there were a multitude of medical records, imaging, labs and Doctors statements..How crooked is the system? My attorney informed me the judge made an error of findings and we appealed to the review council . The review council wouldnt even review the "proof of error", these crooks, blatantly sent it back siding with the judge?? My attorney stated they were wrong but also stated that It's the government, if they tell you the sky is brown, you best believe it is brown. He said cases before Judges are a toss of a coin. I dont have the money to seek proper medical attention and that is something being used against me in my case.. In her decision she stated my doctor says my condition doesn't require any medication. This judge made a terrible mistake in judging me incorrectly. She had numerous errors throughout the lengthy denial letter I received, regarding her supposed review of my medical records. She claimed I didn't have proof of several diagnosis' in my records when there was clear cut proof in these records. My third party who was supposed to testify at my hearing was not allowed to do so, and She made allegations in her letter about me that are downright descriminatory and false. She didn't ask me about several things during the hearing but then made statements in her letter accusing me of things she never gave me a chance to confirm or deny. She claims I am still able to work despite the fact I have become so ill that I can't keep up with my own personal hygiene let alone work. I haven't even been able to keep most of my appointments with several of my specialists because I have been too sick to drive myself to them. I have several diagnosis' on the adult list of disabling conditions, and I hope she sees this and knows that she was cruel and wrong about me, and my life has been completely destroyed because of her. I will most likely have to live on the street soon because she denied me benefits I have desperately needed. God help you if you have to have this judge in charge of your hearing. She is irresponsible and descriminatory and shouldn't be allowed to judge with her own personal opinions on a person. She is mean and will destroy your character if she doesn't like the look of you. That is what happened to me. She will destroy your life if she doesn't like you. This judge ruined my life that was already in the toilet from years of suffering from a rare illness.

I received my decision. I feel after reading it that he gave greater weight to the Social Security evaluation doctor than to my own doctor who sees me regularly. I have researched online and this alone seems to be the number 1 factor in getting the council to remand this back to the ALJ for another decision. Judge Kent does contradict himself a few times in my report. He also states that I stated something which I know I did not and never would have. I even had documentation on me that day which he never requested to view which would have also shown that I did not state what he says I stated to him. he also has provided me with a sex change several times in his decision, by referring to me as "her" on numerous occasions in my report. I have never been a her, never wanted to try to become a her either. I am not sure why he feels I need to become one or that I am one. He did not take into consideration that my condition is one in which it becomes worse over time hence degenerative.

Not sure what to think of this guy. prior to my hearing I was informed by my attorney that this judge has a very high approval rate. during my hearing I felt intimidated. After my hearing my attorney tells me she can not see how I could not have won just wait for the decision to come in the mail. Still waiting. I do not have the same level of confidence. Because I am not sure how to feel about this hearing as of yet since I do not have the decision, I am going to rate right down the middle and give him the benefit of the doubt.

Judge: April M Wexler
6/26/2013 5:55:03 PM

Judge April M. Wexler is a Judge who is definitely not aware of the fact that many people who are applying for disability are actual people who have serious pre existing and continued long term medical issues and medical problems. I believe she looks at the actual person instead of the combined medical evidence, which includes narratives MRI's, and x-rays provided by the Medical Doctors. Furthermore I believe that Judge Wexler is biased with many of her rulings and decisions. In my case her words to me directly were " If you can drive then you are not DISABLE period regardless of your medical conditions"

Judge: John W Rolph
6/18/2013 9:40:17 AM

I'm an attorney who only practices Social Security disability law, and who routinely appears before judges from seven different ODARs (Portland, Eugene, Tacoma, Seattle, Spokane, Boise and Las Vegas - a total of 67 ALJs), and on occasion at virtually every ODAR across the country. I have seen it all, from wack-job judges who are truly insane -- pity anyone from Moreno Valley, CA or Billings, MT -- to judges on some sort of an agenda to deny (or approve!) as many people as possible. I can say without hesitation that Chief Judge Rolph is one of the most courteous, professional, thoughtful and genuinely compassionate judges that I have encountered. This is NOT the same thing as a high allowance rate. He only pays about 50/50, which means that he is denying a lot of cases who probably should be approved. However, I truly believe you get a fair shot with him. While he may not approve every claim, my experience is that he treats every claimant with respect as a human being. As bad as it is to have your claim denied, it is incredible how many judges insist on belittling people and treating them like crap. Judge Rolph never does this. The only time I have ever seen him lose patience, and even then it was slight, was when a claimant insisted on lying to him (and me) about current drug and alcohol use, was deceitful and very dishonest. Anyone who does that deserves a lot worse. Bottom line: I would love to win every one of my cases, but I would be more than happy if every one of my clients were assigned to Judge Rolph.

I have found through personal interaction that Judge S oandra R DiMaggio Wallis is a consummate professional who engages claimants with an object and open mindset. It is my hope that she continue to facilitate her duties with the application of knowledge and the faculty of wisdom with which she has received from our Most High God.

Judge: Jerry Meade
4/10/2013 5:57:28 AM

I recently went before Judge Meade, Well actually it was video conference, And I recieved an unfavorable decision. The reason why is because he said I exaggerated about my disability which is Aspergers Syndrome a form of Autism. I didn't lie about anything I was under oath, Even if I hadn't of been under oath I wouldn't of lied. He also said that my therapist who helped me wasn't credible and that's not true. He also said I was obese and needed to lose weight, And i'm not. I've been to several law judges and I've never had any of them say such mean hurtful things to me and about me. I feel sorry for anyone who has to go in front of him.

Judge: Kim Soo Nagle
3/20/2013 6:27:40 PM

Judge Nagle really seems to understand the disability process. I have appeared before dozens of ALJs in disability cases in Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia and I rank her among the top three. I look forward to having cases with her in the future.

Pretty nice judge starts with the questions and allows attorney for follow up but she is so thorough very little questions left to ask

Judge: Susan L Torres

Fair, reasonable, lets Attorney do most of the questioning. Requests opening argument. Pleasure being before her.

Judge: Michelle Wolfe
1/10/2013 3:02:43 PM

Irksome problem with her is that she schedules hearings close together, and then falls way behind over the course of the day. It's not unusual to have your hearing heard 2 hours late. If her decisions were good, it would be tolerable, but she denies many cases that should be awarded.

This judge is a joke. You have many medical experts oppinions backing your claim, "but" because he doesnt like the answers, he gives them no merit or weight! He is a judge, not a doctor, but he feels the need to, in so many words, say, "your doctor doesnt know what he/she is talking about". He doesnt review all medical records. ONE, example of MANY inconsistencies from Him ( he wants to point out inconsistencies of the claimant, lets point fingers at him! Had A CT scan showing, cirrhosis, enlarged spleen, Gal stones. His words "claimant states he has enlarged spleen but no medical record proving such" ( realy? who is inconsistent now?) Diagnosed with Agorapbobia, social phobia, bi polar, fear of being around people. The judge seems to believe, if you have such phobia, surely this would be observed and a problem being around people in a venue setting such as an "emergency room" REALLY? So if someone has agoraphobia or social phobia, this would prevent them from doing something thats not an option. Medical Emergency, hospital, Emergency room ? this isnt dinner, its a MUST.

In my case DLJ Jerry Meade erred no less than 23 times. He also commited two cases of reversable error in my case. When my legal counsel filed a notice of appeal and a lengthy legal brief, I began to notice that there were spy cars watching me. They would follow me to appointments with treating professionals. On one occasion they were going through my garbage and became agitated when confronted. They flashed an unusual badge. The US Marshall's office confirmed that they were FBI. I suppose that when the collage of mistakes made by ALJ Jerry Meade hit his superiors in Falls Church, VA he became upset. I have asked for the appeal to be dismissed. I hope that this will end the lengthy harrasment from the henchmen of ALJ JErry Meade.

in my opendion this man is to young to be making decision that effect one person life that has live at least 15 years longer than he. he looks to be the type of judge that has a mind set before the hearing. in my case his major reason for turning me down was i had never worked and paid in taxes, which i have not paid in taxes because i worked in a family business from the age of 18 till 45 and then we went out of business. i did work but it was not consider work because i didn't pay in self employed taxes, because i never believe our business would close, i am now 51 and have to depend on other family members for support. he also stated that i could sometimes crawl, snoop and other things that were uncalled for. i hope he never has to live with the illnesses i live with and suffer like i. i'm glad he can live with making desisions that totally affect other peoples lives and that he prays every night for guidness and forgivness for hurting more than he helps. god bless him. one more thing i always though, ssi as for people that had not paid in enough taxes to get social security.

This man may be a good man.. I can't say nothing bad about him cause he gave me and unfavorable decision.. but I do want to ask a question... how can one man look at so called paperwork and see a client for a few minutes and then make a decision that will affect the rest of their lives... I will pray for these people cause I see that they do have a hard job in front of them but it just awes me to see how the system is so messed up when some you know get approved and some have been fighting for years. so I guess I will wait and see what goes.. as for me GOD will provide and I pray he has his hand upon these men that makes decisions.. cause one day they will have to stand before someone mightier than then...
